I found it, thanks. Do you have any reccomendations for era games?

In eratouhotw, is it possible for the player to get pregnant? i cant seem to do so
The Azur Lane one is pretty interesting in terms of it's mechanics, for example Aircraft Carrier and Submarine characters have the ability to preemptively attack enemy fleets and the completely tacked on clothing system is reworked to be how you equip new weapons on ships giving them different stats and properties. For an example of how that affects the gameplay a unit of only submarine class characters will be completely immune to any damage only taking loses from attrition(another thing this game adds) and can even bypass enemy fleets in some cases(like if you order them to attack city b and spawn them at city a which is under attack they'll just go right to city b as if the fleet attacking city a wasn't there) unless if you equip a Destroyer, Escort Carrier or Light Cruiser character with anti-submarine equipment which will give them the ability to attack subs and I think might even prevent subs from being able to bypass that fleet. The only big issue I have with the game is that the type of equipment you can buy is based on the faction the leader of your country is a member of which is limited to only on the equipment that faction has in Azur Lane itself and that results in some factions like the ones based on Italy and France getting kind of shafted with the types of aircraft they can use like the Italian faction for example aircraft-wise can literally only use fighters and not dive/torpedo bombers.

And for the other question I don't think so as in TW the way children works with the npcs seems as though it would preclude pc pregnancy and I've never been able to get it to happen myself.

On the topic of why erotic text games aren't "appreciated" isn't necessarily because "We live in the generation of instant gratification" or anything, at least, it's not the major reason.

It's because most text based games suck.

Think of it like this, when you hover over a game, you can immediately tell whether the artist is good. You cant just pick up a pen and trick the viewer's eyes that you are a quality artist.

Text on the other hand. All text is visually the same. But when you actually take the time to immerse yourself into the writing, you then realize that danm, this guy hasnt written shit.

I'm not saying this to discourage anyone or too personally attack anyone who tries to write. Unless it's completely motivated by trying to milk eager patreon doners, then you are scum.

If you've played plenty of text based games, like the real pornstars twine story about your mom who's actually your sister, who's actually your sissy brother, you will notice that a lot of them dump a heavy load of exposition on you.

Explicit exposition or as I like to call it, lazy exposition, has to be earned. In a good story, exposition is given under layers of character development/expression and or plot progression. All these stories talk about the land before time and how time is relative and your character has touched a clock yesterday and at that point, I've already lost the minimum amount of respect for the work. You haven't given me a reason to care.

The thing is, most things in general suck, adult games especially because the bar for porn is low. I get the impression that people equate good art with good production value. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to be a good game, but as you said, art quality is easily recognizable. It sets the expectation that the rest of the content will also be of good quality.

But the unfortunate thing is that many people, especially people in this forum, prioritize visuals over text. Many hold the belief that porn is the most important thing in an adult game. If there aren't enough sex scenes and images, they don't want it. It's why VNs with mediocre stories and like 3GB of Daz3D images are so goddamn common. And if you look at most game's reviews, you'll see that many people hand out 5 stars simply because the visuals are to their liking and that their fetish is included. Even though we have actually well-known and well-translated VN available, if you order the search results by views and likes, you'll see that the ones that get the most attention are the smuttiest titles of little narrative substance. And that's comparing games with visuals. The way I see it, most people playing adult games/VNs simply don't want to read, and that's why text-based games are a niche.

There is a TIP in EratohoTW that I can live in the same room as my lover, tried with different girls but never found such an option. Does anyone know which of the girls I can live with?

As far as I know, you can move in with anyone, as long as you're already living on the same map as them, though you might also need to make them your official girlfriend. There should be an option for where you choose to sleep, like the guest room at the shrine, or with the fairies. An additional option should pop up, allowing you to choose your lover.

There's also the possibility to have girls "move in with you" depending on the map. For example there's a second vacant room in the Human Village that's next to the default home of yours that they'll move into.

Hello! I am extremely sorry I came up here with this question, but a cursory glance at the thread doesn't yield the answer I am looking for. I want to add customized icons for characters but the custom.csv located in eraTohoK\resources\custom is giving me a headache. What I am understanding is that you add .png files to the folder, adequately named, and then you change the .txt extension into a .csv one.
¿How?
Thank you prematurely, Jando

it would be pretty good if there was an erapokemon game.
Pokemon has become notoriously dangerous to make doujin of since around 2015, with responses scaling from trying to sue Japanese rom hack creators to stalking homebrew developers in recent years.
Now, why isn't there an eradigimon? No good explanation there... Apparently someone made an era version of Monster Rancher using eratoho as a shell, or at least an early branch of eratoho had this feature implemented, but I have no idea what it's called.

Edit: I have in fact found a called "eraspe." The "spe" stands for Special, this era game isn't based directly on the games themselves, but instead it is based on the manga Pokemon Special (called 'Adventures' in the US) that is generally considered the best manga adaptation. The bad news is that it isn't translated and hasn't been updated since 2008, lol.
On the monster team front there's also EraDQK which is described as a "nest-building dragon system." That's in reference to a classic eroge called "Nest Building Dragon" which was the inspiration for a lot of later dungeon builder-y eroge. You presumably build up a team like in Dragon Quest Joker and emplace them in a dungeon to entrap adventurers, but I can't find a working download anywhere to find out one way or the other.

Digimon's probably not popular enough. As much as I like the series, it's easy to see there's not a lot of hype when it comes to its anime or its games. I don't know the hell Monster Rancher made it though, because according to Wikipedia, they haven't made a game since 2012. I gotta ask though, you guys talking about fucking the humans or the mons?

The Japanese are still actively developing many era games.

The discord people aren't just translating. They're also making their own personalized modifications to the code.

Mods are usually differences in stats, small event details, QoL, and even some new features.
So, i can't seem to join the discord.

Monster Rancher still has some nostlagia-'ing fans who played MR a lot back in the 90s and early 00s. Especially in Japan. Very small group, but also very passionate. I could totally see one of them trying to make an Era game if they discovered Era's little nugget of the internet. I guess one found it by chance.

Digimon's popularity saw an uptick with the 3rd season, but really never quite recovered from the blow of the 2nd season. Some people care for the 4th season. No one gives a shit about anything that came after that and the 4th season is 15+ years old, now. After the blow of the 2nd season, there just aren't that many super-passionate Digimon fans in Japan anymore. So, no Digimon era isn't surprising to me.

Don't be sorry. It is really confusing when you're doing it for the first time.

There was a little trouble with the custom csv instructions some while back that the members working on the development had to amend the instructions and stuff.
So just in case, I'll provide the link to the latest version from the Era website itself.

(but these instructions *should* work on any version, don't panic and restart a game yet)

Next, I want to confirm if you added the 180 x 180 pixels png images to the eraTohoK\resources\custom folder or the eraTohoK\resources folder.
The latter folder is correct. You do not need to add anything new to eraTohoK\resources\custom folder.

Then about the custom folder, upon unpacking it, there is a txt file inside, named "custom.csv". Because the type of document is still in txt, you need to make that into a csv file. I'm not sure you mean by changing the extension but if you copy and paste the contents of that txt file into a csv file, then you are doing it right. (Where that csv file should be placed, comes later)
Keep in mind a csv file is recommended to be modified via Notepad or Notepad++ (Do not use Excel). I think your computer will have the former installed. Right-click the csv file>Open with>Notepad. (I'm sorry if you know this, just being thorough).

Okay, how do you save as csv? Frankly, I...do not know. But...in eraTohoK\resources folder there are many csv files if you scroll down, scattered between the images. One of them is called "portraits", and because it doesn't have much content, lets make a *copy* of that csv file and erase everything in it. Then paste all the data from the "custom.csv" txt file into that new csv file. Remember to Save your changes. Now rename that new csv file "Custom". Place that csv file named "Custom" in eraTohoK\resources folder, together with your custom character images named c1, c2, c3...and so on.

In the csv file named "Custom", make sure the ";" is deleted from the beginning of each row in which you are using the image reference. For example, if you are using a png image named c1 as your custom character image, then make sure the row looks like
c1,c1.png,0,0,180,180
and not
;c1,c1.png,0,0,180,180

But in your original "custom.csv" txt file, you can see that the rows start like this:
;ResourceName,Filename,PositionX,PositionY,Width,Height
;c10,c10.png,0,0,180,180

^So the rows start at c10 and not c1.
So if you're using a png image named c1, it will not show up in-game.
So what must be done is to create row(s) between them (and remove the ";"). It should look like this:
;ResourceName,Filename,PositionX,PositionY,Width,Height
c1,c1.png,0,0,180,180
c2,c2.png,0,0,180,180
c3,c3.png,0,0,180,180
c4,c4.png,0,0,180,180
c5,c5.png,0,0,180,180
c6,c6.png,0,0,180,180
c7,c7.png,0,0,180,180
c8,c8.png,0,0,180,180
c9,c9.png,0,0,180,180
c10,c10.png,0,0,180,180

^This means you can use png images named c1 to c10. You can add more rows if you wish, but the document already provides up to c99.

But you can see in the eraTohoK\resources folder, the numbers c1 to c6 are already taken by images of Rance and some other characters. You can delete/overwrite these images and place your own image named c1 (or you can name your own image c7).

I hope this helps. Good luck.

This is completely untrue you can and should leave both the csv and your custom .pngs in the custom folder and all you really need to do to to make the file a csv is to go "save as" and just name the file custom.csv while changing the filetype to "all".
