To be fair, most depictions of Dimeritium have it "only" strongly resistant to magic, almost impervious. But concentrating enough magical energy into a piece of metal should still be able to destroy it, especially if we are talking about a magical "nuke" that Calypso performed.

This time we got more of a sneak peek into the next episode, a taste for a new realm and new characters, so this cliffhanger was more peaceful to the players
