Where does Patreon say "no mind control porn" in any of their rules? I can't find anything like that.

The conext here is that, in fantasy-land, hypnosis, unlike real life, is assumed to be absolute.
So hypnosis, mind control, etc. is an "absolute removal of free will", thus it falls into objective non-consensual territory, which is why it was banned; a large example of someone getting banned for this is CypressZeta, who did Snow Daze, specifically for the reason of hypnosis.
Other large developers doing similar games have been banned too.
(The "absolute removal" thing also has context with my replies below.)
Is this rule stupid? Yes. But I have no power to change it or do anything about it, I'm just saying why they do ban it.
If the concern is Patreon's iffy attitude toward depictions of non-consensual sex, well, most of the enemies in this game will only accost Talia, Faye or Vie when they're visibly defeated in some capacity. This game already features something Patreon won't oblige, and it features it in droves. There's only a handful of instances where the character(s) verbally consent. If you tweak the game so things only kick off when a female character verbally obliges their prospective partner... it's not really a video game with enemies to fight off, at that point. You will have (literally) lost the plot.
Actually, Patreon allows that content in our game; it's even in their ToS.

"We understand that some topics on this list such as incest or rape are a little bit more complicated because these situations are, unfortunately, part of real life. As a result, when reviewing these types of creations, the Trust and Safety team will take into consideration context including personal, historical or educational narrative. For example, survivor stories or fiction such as Game of Thrones or Lolita are allowed on Patreon."
The reason I bolded "survivor stories" is because that's what the term here is that's being used.
We don't have a definitive list from Patreon, but what we've compiled together from emails sent to different devs that got cleared on this, plus general investigative work/connecting the dots, is that if your game has the following conditions;
- protagonist has to be the one getting fucked, not the one doing the fucking
- protagonist can't be beat up or bloodied at all
- protagonist can't be traumatized or degraded or etc.
- protagonist has to have a way to fight back (magic/guns/martial arts etc.)
- protagonist has to be of legal age
- can't get buffs or positive effects from the sex (i.e. can't powerup from having sex happen)
Then you're
likely in the clear.
I know that multiple Patreon staff members know about our game, and they've cleared it due to our game having those features more than likely; I've spread this info on multiple places too, so it's not some sort of secret I'm hoarding for myself.
This is a fundamental problem with Patreon, and it's becoming a fundamental problem for this project.
Patreon has not affected the content of this game exclusively.
Meaning, any changes we've made have not been exclusively because of Patreon rules.
For example;
- The Fire Level character we removed hypnosis from, we removed it mainly because it just made no sense with the current plot. An enemy that uses hypnosis to make its enemies masturbate... when its superiors
hate sex and its enemies
love sex? That would be like having Russia send over a gay man to fight for gay rights in California or something. It makes literally no sense.
- The Ice Level boss I've been talking about in the recent posts; a large, large portion of why we changed him was reasons #1 and #3. Even if there had been no ban on mind control, we would have still changed the scene.
The entire gimmick — the thing that sells this game more than any script, story, Megaman-derivative gameplay or whatever
Per polls, player feedback, and even responses in this thread, this is a subjective opinion. While you are right in that there are people who are into the game for the porn first and foremost, there are also people exclusively pledging to this solely for the music, or script, or art, or gameplay. Others are in it for the whole package, and yet even others want a SFW version of the game with no porn at all.
- A zombie who hits Talia in the face & then eats her (or pins her down to fuck her)
- A really big zombie who grabs Talia's wrists (or arms) and eats her (or pins her down to fuck her)
There were never any zombies in the game; they're all mutant humans. They're not undead, nor do they eat her or bite her or eat human flesh or anything like that. Nothing of that sort happened in the early versions of the game, either.
You're designing a game where you fight off monsters; the end result of defeat (physical assault until Talia no longer has the strength to stand on two feet)
This isn't the case; she is never physically injured. (If she were being physically beat up, don't you think things like bruises, blood, etc. would occur as a result of her being hit by gigantic enemies, or being crushed by pillars, or so on?)
Her magic has an aura around her; her life bar isn't her literal "life bar", it's her magical defenses. This is why it goes down when she orgasms, because she's losing focus; no one would be physically harmed by having an orgasm (under normal circumstances).
So when she's "defeated", her magic has simply ran out; this is why during game over scenes, she can still talk, move her limbs, and so on. She's stunned initially, sure, but not exhausted or incapable of moving.
-----------------
And that leads us to the biggest factor about why, at most, this game is dub-con, not non-con;
while she's laying there, at any point, Talia can simply eat her earring to respawn herself at the Save Pad. If she
really didn't want to have sex, she wouldn't lie there until an enemy came along to have sex with her, she'd simply pop her earring in her mouth and respawn instantly.
Further proof she can move like this (without her suit), by the way, will be evident with the Stealth section near the end of the game, where she's moving around fully nude.
She's also significantly more powerful than anything in the future, so canonically, there should be no reason she should ever actually lose a fight. It's like in a Final Fantasy game, if your character loses and dies, that's not the canon story; the canon is that they survive and finish the game. If the player plays otherwise, that's on their version of events so to speak, not the game's canon.
Compare that to a game where you would be
required to go through sex scenes in order for progression in the game; you can go through this entire game without seeing a single sex scene and get the true ending and all the Fragments and so on.
I hope the the wall of text up there clarifies some things for you about how and why we made the choices we did, but again to reiterate; if we were doing this game completely from our own funds and did not have to answer to Patreon or anyone else, we would be treating it in the exact same way, altering things we did in the exact same way, and describing it to people in the exact same way.
Following more and more lewd game on patreon, I feel like the "mind control is forbiden" sounds more and more like a urban legend...
They always say because it is clearly non-con, but all those RoR patreon game look fine being on there. (like bestiality and other stuff)
If a game gets away with hypnotism, then it simply hasn't been found yet, or there's additional context about the game that allows it to get by.
I've contacted Patreon personally and had them hand-check our game to OK it, because I don't want to rely on "just dropping under the radar", but many games have had objectively bannable content on the platform that are far, far more objectionable than anything we could or would ever put out, and the only answer is that Patreon just simply hasn't noticed them.
Check the link I posted at the top of the post though, and ask around for developers like CypressZeta that got hit for it, as I also linked up above.
