I played both BB and (pre and post-BB remake portion) Glamour, and a per-update basis was largely the best way to do it, just to avoid game-breaking and progression breaking bugs that never got fixed after they first appeared. That goes for playing as either Kate or Max.

In the event of no bugs blocking progression through the stories, playing as Max is only marginally less grindy than playing as Kate, and that's largely because the majority of the BB remake is centred in the home. That's its only saving grace as far as levels of grind go, and more content available doesn't change that at all.

My understanding is the reason this game failed so spectacularly is because the creator basically did a bait and switch mid way through, the original game was solely focused on Kate, almost like he was trying to bait in a new player base since his previous games failed, then part way through swapped to bringing in Max and changing the story entirely basically dividing the player base in half, hence why the ratings plummeted to about 2.5 after max got introduced into the school 'invading' Kates story as it was put, add in the neutering of all the other male characters and forcing Max onto Kate effectively screwed the game entirely, in short, if you create a game with a certain direction in mind stick with it -.-

The creator tried to chase his biggest whales who were a bunch of weirdos still obsessed with his older game, but that alienated the people who were trying to play this game. In the end nobody was satisfied.

The NewOrder Quest says quest-neworder-step-54-karen-unfinished, and then the next day that I meet karen in classroom and open the Karen and new college quest. This is strange. I suspect that I should meet karen before the 'unfinished' thing because I see some lines about karen's assistant and other things that I have no idea what they are when Ann agree us to shoot porn, and this is before I trigger the Karen Quest, which is a bit odd to me. Any help? And how can I trigger the Karen visit villa event? Is there a pattern？

Original Glamour was 2016, using real-porn and abandoned for BB which was 2017-2018.
This started in 2017 and was his longest running project until last year when it became abandoned.

Lots of Patreon accounts for projects that have been abandoned still have paying members. I'd say it's most likely ones that signed up for the bare minimum and forgot they were patrons.
