It doesn't have to incorporate animations.
New sprites, new characters new engine and render software. It's essentially a remake of 2016 Glamour with a BB reboot thrown in.
If the $40 patrons started whining about it, you bet he'd do some animations. But they're not because they get to self-insert as some jackass with a magic pole.

They've been spoiled by games that use animations. Let's leave them with their soap box ranting and hope they find something that satisfies that part of their lives that is somehow so important as to be angry about a game that they're most likely not helping to fund.

I don't think he was saying that the game is vanilla. I thought he was implying many of the fans of "Max and his Magic Golden Dick," are "vanilla boys."
But the implication of "vanilla boys" would be that they only like vanilla content. What else could make them vanilla?
