As if an older guy can't possibly be attracted to a very young girl, or viceversa. It happens all the time. It doesn't mean you have to approve it from an ethical standpoint. That's beside the point. What matters is that it's plausible as an element of fiction.
I don't understand this wave of negative comments here. I thought it was an interesting twist, somewhat disturbing - which I guess is the point: adds an element of uncertainty to the relationship "I thought I knew everything about her, but clearly I didn't".
