I actually expected after 0.55 patreon money to drop a bit, but it seems it generated enough buzz and they even gained some patreons.

Frankly, I am considering supporting the game. It is very good. Sure, the pace was a bit off in the couple updates but whether I would have prefered the MC to hold back more before being seduced, I don't find anything too bad in this.

Yeah, I have to say your all over the place with these comments. The reason that I did not like the rape development is that it does not belong in this story. Just because something happens in real life does not mean that it belongs in any particular adult VN. Haley is not a real life person that was the victim of a predator. She is a character in what was up until this update a well written romantic comedy. The dialogue was playful, amusing, and endearing. We came to care about the twins and watching their relationship progress brightened our days a little. I can be angry with the developers for putting out a sloppy update and for ruining their own romantic comedy. There is probably a reason that When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, and You've Got Mail don't feature statutory rape as a part of their story lines. It's not a matter of who should help Haley through this, it's that no one should have to help through this because it shouldn't be in the story in the first place.

While I was told that I could share the information, I was asked not to reveal the source. Normally I would not comment on supporting developers. In your post you mention that you are considering supporting this developer even though you also say the pace has been off recently and that you hope that the game does not take a dark turn when the game has just taken a dark turn. If you start supporting now, will you not be encouraging a darker story line and pacing that is off? I supported this story until this update. Maybe I will one day support it again, but for me it has hit a low point and I would rather the story get back to what it was.

I really don't get it.
I love this game.

I would play it even without any sex scenes (and no, I'm not 16 ). The story is so well written and the characters are a 70% too (because you don't meet a girl a few days ago and fcik her silly).
MC and Haley are perfect (and I'm not only talking about the pictures and animations ). The side plots/characters are very good, too.

I just don't get it ...
You are ok with a love story including incest.
But a statutory rape gets you upset.
Both happens, Incest and statutory rape, in real live.

And if the MC can help her to deal with this, whats wrong with it?

I don't think that the developers would see a marginal raise in their patrons (which I assume are over a 100) and automatically assume that "turning it darker!" worked.

As I have mentioned several times, I find the pace a little off and that's it. I don't consider the last update a horrible abomination. I consider it a good update. The previous update, in which the MC was easily seduced by Hailey was IMO a bit worse. I mean, that's the update that the MC decided to go full relationship with Haley. This one, the "OK, we're in. Let's fuck!" comes (IMO) as a natural follow-up.
I didn't "like" that Haley had a thing with that pedo teacher. But I didn't say it doesn't make a good story (that remains to be seen). I didn't like it the same way I wouldn't like if something bad happened to the protagonist. I also didn't like the "timing" of it, but I can overlook this.

What I am afraid of? That in the midst of this very important "transition" of the game, where the MC with Haley have moved to full relationship and the follow-up drama... we will take a lot of time off with the side-girls which at the time are far less important IMO for the story. I.e. I would prefer to resolve this first and then go on with the other girls.
At first, I didn't give a shit about Klaus-the-pedo. But if, as you say, becomes a focal point in the story and that is well done and Haley comes to terms with what happened etc, I would not have a problem of it and I would enjoy it.

As mentioned in my (edited) post above... I don't see it as a downturn in quality. Not significant at least.
It has things that I don't like, but the same as if a nice series protagonist has a mishap, not things I don't like as "this turned to crap".

Given the fact that he's a teacher, they are usually a special class legally, and any teacher student contact, even if the student is a consenting adult, is considered statutory rape in some states. I don't know if it's written in law anywhere but I think it spans from teachers practically being the legal guardians of students for 8 hours a day, and taking advantage of that for sex is obviously a problem.

To answer your question though, her being a consenting adult sleeping with a much older gentleman would still creep me out personally, but I wouldn't be as mad as I am now and I'd recognize the fact that it was my problem and I'd have no one else to blame but myself.

Whether it is legal or not at 16, I don't think a girl at this age has the maturity required to make such decisions. Some girls are mature enough, I don't deny that. Not all girls. And Haley doesn't seem to be this "beyond the curve" girl when it comes to maturity. Even the reasons she gave, "I felt bad for him" is not good enough.

And then, we come to what you said: He's the teacher. He's not the 50-years-old owner of the arcade she visited or the divorced father of her friend down the street. He's the person that both the girl and her family trusted. Haley would have contact with this man -him from a position of authority- for several hours per month whether she liked him or not.
He had the means to "groom" her if you want to like him and abused her trust and inexperience. Even if she had a childish crush on him, he should have made himself unavailable.

The only thing I know for sure about the resolution (because Ptolemy said it on Discord) is that it's going to take several releases to play out. So people obsessed with an instant revenge fantasy are going to have something else to grumble about.

Personally, I hope it happened as Haley believes it did — that it was her choice and initiated by her — because then the story remains Haley-centered. Moving forward the resolution becomes about getting Haley to see the event correctly, getting through the relationship trauma the siblings' differing opinions (and possibly actions) are going to cause, and convincing her that no matter how she viewed it then, she was victimized and there needs to be some sort of consequence.

On the other hand, if Klaus groomed her then the resolution to this subplot will be Klaus-centered. I'm uninterested in a story about a rapist; if I was I'd just play most of the other incest games out there.

The consequences need to come from Haley, not her brother. She's the victim, not him. The MC can be surprised and angry and hurt, but to insist that vengeance belongs to him is (at best) paternalistic. Whatever consequences Klaus is going to suffer, they have to be her idea and at her instigation. If she wants the MC to participate, that's up to her. Now, do I think the MC's about to go do something monumentally dumb that will seriously damage his relationship with his sister? I think it's likely.

Haley might not know she has been groomed, and unless Klaus confesses to doing such, there's no way to know. It being one moment of weakness and MC coming to somewhat see and understand things from Klaus' POV goes against Haley's assertion that she "fucks a lot."

It is perfectly legitimate to voice one's displeasure or even disgust on a forum like this one. But just know that you are not going to change the game that way. Just like you will have no effect on the movie or book that has already been created. Like a TV series, your lack of support might have a cumulative effect, if enough people share your view. The same case could be made for dropping financial support of a game developer, which might cause a game to be abandoned.

I do have a question though. Do you intend to keep playing or not? If you do, fine, your criticisms are welcome, if not agreed with by all. If you don't, you are wasting your time and ours to persist in posting them.

I wasn't criticizing the game. I was answering someone who asked about why people don't have a problem with having sex with Haley, but have a problem with her being raped. My point with the tags was to illustrate that we're okay with incest in the game because it's there. If someone played the first update, and didn't expect the titular sister to be romantically involved in some way, it would be foolish of them to complain. Once the tag was added, there could be no mistaking that it was going to happen. There was almost no mistaking that it would happen, from the start, even before the tag was added. I was responding to a question of, "Why is everyone okay with incest here, but not rape?" My point was that, because rape wasn't advertised from the start that its sudden appearance caught a lot of players off guard (I imagine everyone, honestly), and because it didn't mesh with the tone of the story up to that point, a lot of people didn't like it. I wasn't saying that it should be in the tags, but that because it's not, and there was zero indication of it in the story, it made a lot of players angry because no one knew to expect it, unlike the incest. I'm also not saying that I would expect my opinion to change anything, just that my opinion (or anyone else's) shouldn't be called into question as to why incest is okay in this game, but rape isn't. I would much prefer a developer to tell their story than to acquiesce to the demands of fans, I just don't like this one certain element of the game. I will, however continue to play the game, to see how this plays out, but I would be lying if I said that my excitement is at its highest going into this next update. That said, I wouldn't be here if I didn't really enjoy this game and want to continue playing it to see what happens next.

I didn't ask for your help. I didn't say it needed fixing, either. I'm not unhappy about the fact that it's not listed in the tags. If you read carefully, you would see that I never said I was unhappy about it. All I said was that because it wasn't, it came from out of nowhere, and that's where a lot of people were upset.

The entire point of what I've been saying here is that that is why it's okay for people here to not be upset about the incest in the game, but still be upset about the rape. Because unless you're some kind of psychic or the writer of the game, you could not have foreseen that plot element arising without reading the comments here, or seeing it in the tags. And since it's not in the tags, whoever played the game before reading the comments would have been caught off guard, unlike the incest element which has been present from the first update. It's not hard to understand what I'm saying, as I have explained it clearly over and over again. In response to the question that I initially replied to:

I can't be any more clear than that. I don't have a problem with the tags. If someone else wants them changed, whatever. If they stay the same, whatever. That's not what this has been about. It's about what players expected, and why players have reacted to the update the way they did. Anyone who played the first release could see where the plot was going in regard to incest. But before playing this update, would you have expected rape to play a part in this game? If so, I apologize. But I highly doubt anyone on this thread expected that before playing this update.
