Progress update

Hi

I'm sad to say that there will very likely be a delay. I guess it's to be expected with the increased size. The final count is 353 in this update. I just talked to Pto and there are 20 images left to render. At 3h each, that's 60 hours. Add to that photoshop and the final touches, and there is no way for us to realease it on Sunday. I just don't see how.

So, it will probably take us a couple of days more.

We hope it will be worth the wait for you guys.

Viit
Thanks for the heads up! Very much appreciated

3 hours per render? I feel like that's a lot, especially considering the renders are mostly simple POV renders, may be time to invest in a new rendering PC or adjust some settings.
I was thinking the exact same thing... 3hrs seems a bit excessive.
Unfortuantely not everyone can afford to throw 2k+ graphics card, never mind the rest of the system to not create a bottleneck.

I'm working with an RTX 2070 (not SUPER).
The scenes in HS would render in QHD in about 45-90 minutes and I reduce them to FHD after that.
There is no complex lighting, no reflections, water ... everything what gives a high load to your GPU and will add a lot of render time.

With an 2070 SUPER (for about 500$, I guess) the rendering time would go down 20-50%.
2080 or higher is no option, too expensive for the speed advantage.

The new RTX 3080 for about 600$ seems like a very good deal, I would guess 50-70% less to my 2070.
So where is the 2k+ need?

Anyways, 3 hours is much too much. Even with my old I5 and an 1050TI these scene would render in 2 hours in FHD.

I don't know why but I just installed the game and it tells me that Halley.exe is missing, what can I do?
Add Haley game folder to your AV exceptions and extract downloaded game zip again. Apparently your antivirus detects it as false positive and removes it without telling you.
Windows Defender does that a lot, some other AV's may do the same.

Because it's pointless as it's a story based visual novel.
The changelog would quite literally be

Story continued. Literally useless unless you want them to spoil the game.
For some story based VNs (visual novel implies story though I would think) it'd still be useful. For example if the story had multiple paths/girls and updates didn't always focus on all of them. I don't really want to grab an update just to find out my route of choice received two minutes of content.

I think he's asking more so that he has some kind of idea how much new content there is and maybe whether or not there's new content with a particular girl in order to determine if it's worthwhile for him to download this version or if he'd be better off waiting for a future one.
