Hmm. A new update. I really don't know how this game went from one of my top favorites, to me barely being bothered to play the latest update.
I am not sure what really happened. I think looking back over Haley's Story, there just isn't enough of a story there once Haley and the MC have sex the first time, and the way the "twist" happened with the teacher immediately after the act, really changed the tone of the game. I am all for a dark turn in games, it if is handled well. Deluca Family, those who have played it know what I mean, is a great example. Haley's Story could have been redeemed if there was genuine growth by Haley afterward and it drew the MC and Haley closer together, but the way it was handled in the game, just seemed like drawing out the solution, and checking off the boxes. I know the dev tried to show Haley accepting it, but the whole situation just felt very flat to me. Also, Sandra just doesn't interest me very much due to her overly meticulous personality, and I just don't find her character sexy, though she can be sweet at times, so that doesn't help drum up enthusuasm to the story either. Lisa is cute and all as an alternative, but really she is just a superficial fling and doesn't really have any interest in the MC. This is probably the only game I have played where the side characters detract from the story. Usually, I really like the side girls in these times of games.
I don't think I am explaining myself well, but it seems like the game just kind of has gone on and on, slowly, without anything really to keep my attention over the last 5 or 6 updates. I compare this to Alexandra, which I initially didn't like as well as Haley's Story, though it was fun to play, and Ptolemy has managed to keep the story fresh and interesting, with a little mystery, so I enjoy every update so far.
Just one person's opinion, but for me Haley's Story just isn't fun or exciting to play anymore. The tone has become very similar to Ptolemy's other game, Intimate Relations, where there is just a cloud of melancholy floating over everything in the story, which takes most of the enjoyment out of the game, at least for me.
