This discussion reminds me of a similar one in The Deluca Family game, for anyone who hasn't played yet, I can recommend it.Yeah, I love feedback, and I obviously take criticism. You've been here longer than anyone, you're basically a vet on this site with more posts and likes than even a dev haha so you know what you're talking about. I wasn't born with the ability to make Harem Hotel at my current level, people criticized me along the way and the best thing to do is to take it into to account and consider it. I definitely considered making seperate routes based on how well you did in that game largely due to his voice, in fact I made a whole other UNIVERSE based on the idea that you lost that challenge by the way of The Toymaster. But, after more thought it's not something I want to do. Best I will do is a skip button, or the player could just skip it. I don't expect everyone to like 100% of the events in game.
It has a scene in it that a lot of us like and rate it as the best of this game, but also a lot doesn't like it. It's even two version "the full" and a short one, with a warning at the beginning. Yet it comes randomly up, like yours with Cornwall, that is bad, not needed and so on.
Like yours, it is - in my eyes - a needed scence for the plot and character development and if let out, a good deal of the story wouldn't make sense anymore.
Also the dev there has a similare approach to the feedbacks he receive and as he notice it and accept it and change somethings, when he thinks that it will improve the game, but also he stays true to his own vision of the story he want to tell and don't let any feedback change this.
So continue the way your going with this game as your attitude as a dev is another reason why I support you - of course I also like the game.
Also why I usually don't comment of how a story should be told, which event was "bad" or "good". I mostly comment of how I feel and more on the technical side. Commenting a story that isn't finished yet, would be rather a waste.
Would be the same as to criticise the story of a trilogy after the first or the second book/film/game or wathever medium its use.
