Was the VN I was referring to, the anime butchered the story when it took yet a different path trying to merge too much of the VN paths. As long as you don't go full manwhore it's not that bad of a story. Seriously though that is a good thing, low res textures on a small detail scale material like sand look really bad, just smear all the texture away.
You may miss a few events if you don't restart. Maria's 10th story event was completely overhauled. Otherwise, training events are repeatable across any friendship level so long as you've unlocked it first

First floor, door by its self Lin, then Kali, then Ashley then Maria.

Yes. Also, the betas are for testing, only play them if you are happy for there to be bugs and potentially game/save-breaking stuff.
