I kinda see both sides of the argument: ignoring troll comments, all that the remaining - respectful - critics are saying is that Notty is surely loading more on her plate than is good for her. And, since she won't ever sacrifice quality she will give up timelines. Still communicating them every month, and consequently having to push them back every month is not helpful, as - even with with best intensions and many disclaimers you do create anticipation, which is then if cancelled causing the negative bubble.
On the other side, she will tell the story at her pace alone, and who ever wants to fund her shall do so, and whoever wants to troll can sleep under the next bridge.

The game is absolutely good, which is why I actually come back to it. The issue is, I don't know any games that take that long to update and then you think "damn, that long a wait was justified". Hell, I don't actually know any games that I follow that take that long to update! (barring "on-hold"). The only exception is Summertime Saga and even that updates 2x more often if I'm correct.
I have seen a few, but most of them didn't have the amount of content, 30fps animations, paths, and so on. Some of them were actual milkers, but you can say a lot of things about Notty, but being lazy will never be one of them. She is always working hard, producing high quality content, on a mid level computer system.

Can you name a few? I meant not just games with long update time, but the "wow, the wait was worth" effect

That is subjective (some might say Dr. Amana, or Vinland), but that is where this one is unique, most are slow because their devs are not full time, this is due to dedication and quality.
Most of us might not see all of the work that goes into it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It depends on what you want out of a game though. If you want a quick fap, this isn't the game for you. This isn't a porn game, it is a mature themed game, that happens to also have sex, like Mass Effect or something.

LMAO, if you think that this game is mature themed we are playing different games. Try the last sovereign on F95 for what I would consider a mature game with good writing.
Also just got a 2.3k word message with quotes like below that are starting to leave me in stitches and actually make me ponder about the whole remaster fact. I don't really play/follow any games that seem like they are milking it, but man, this sure is starting to look like one

I have so many games/VNs that I follow that I think I should just put this thread on ignore and come back next year.
Some of my games/VNs update fast, they tend to be more cheeseball or off-the-wall or FAP games
Some update slow and they tend to be story-driven, quality games
There are exceptions to both those above lines, of course.
I came here because of the MASSIVE hype around all the awards given to this game.
MY OPINION is this moves far, far too slow to justify the hype. Also the branching paths aren't the most complex ever and when you follow a path and want to see what other routes you could have taken there is NOTHING to help. If you are going to have a lot of complexity why not have guides?? Some people want to go freeform 1st try but still may want to know their options are upon replay. Since so much of this game's hype seems to be about the re-playability I find it extraordinarily disappointing that it lacks all the guidance SO MANY other games/VNs have in that regard.

I have so many games to play (and more to the point, work to do), I don't care how long they take to update, as long I enjoy them when they do. Far too many games with fast updates, are short and unfulfilling, even if you wait months between playing the weekly updates. Compare that to this one, where one of us played for over a month, and still never saw all there was to see.
Everything I have seen from the new update so far, looks amazing, and while no one likes to wait, you can't say she isn't busting her ass (sometimes literally) to bring us a ton of unique content that is of high quality. Hell, the little VR story in the last update was bigger than many updates in some games, and that was just part of one optional side path.

It is, in fact, demonstrably at least 25% better.
I’m frustrated and do think 9+ months is too long even though I think the update is likely to be good and that the game has more to offer than most.
That said I accepted pledging to a perfectionist, there’s no sign that there’s not activity and I don’t have really have any fears that there’s abandonment is on the cards. So i’m just left trying to curb my impatience for now.
