I was really happy when I found this game a few weeks ago and even more happy when I found out it's not abandoned
I am going to take everyone's advice and start a new game when it gets here
After playing it I knew I found a game that sets itself apart from most of the stuff on this site

I actually believe the game's next 'upgrade' will come out. . .eventually.

However, the 'war of words' on this thread will exceed the amount of new text & events the dev releases by an order of magnitude.

Fact: This Dev is a 'hobbyist' who is producing their personal work, learning as they go (not charging) on their own schedule (like myself) but with this thread of 'public controversy' swirling around them being supported by passionate followers and maligned by disgruntled 'trolls' that produces this 'soap opera' for no practicable purpose except for 'free advertising'.

Man, I wish I'd thought something like this up. Callisto Premium could use this kind of interest.

It's been 18 months, and there are still people here who keep trying to gloss over the situation with the same old excuses. Regular updates are the only real instrument for checking whether a game is actually still being developed. This cannot be replaced by any texts or alleged beta test reports (also just text). Those who really work on a game can also publish updates. Certainly not every week, but surely every few months. If a game has not had any updates for over 18 months, that speaks for itself.

I think after 18 months without an update, it is right to assume that this game is no longer being seriously developed. If someone were really still working on it, the person could simply bring out an update. Just spreading hot air has no value.

You seem to be stuck on this point of monthly releases. Just because most payment transactions/providers like the order of this, doesn't mean life is like that. As has been said several times, the development of this gamer is (far) longer than orderly monthly cycles.
If this sours you to this game so much, block the thread and move on. Heed your own words

The sooner we accept this, the sooner we will be able to find new developers who are perhaps more determined and can really make such a development work.
