Why read the post right above (or the rules of this forum), if asking again the same question is ten times more time-consuming?

Why is this game abandoned?
rules say over 18 months between releases marks abandoned regardless of what actually happens. So sometimes it's accurate despite devs like ICSTOR claiming they are working on the game, other times it's not like with Heavy Five where the game is being worked on but the update schedule is usually about once a year. However the dev got crashed into last summer and then had shoulder issues that took 6 months to get fixed because of delays in uk public healthcare, thus the whole game is now being re-worked to make it easier for new players to understand and remove 4th wall gags.

The game isn't abandoned. F95's rules state that an "abandoned" tag must be applied to games taking more than 18 months to update. It doesn't account for games with long development cycles. One the update is released the tag goes away (until 18 months into the next update cycle).

Also, there are people who make it their mission in life to report games that have taken "too long" to update. They claim that they are doing it for us, either to steer new users away from quality games with long update cycles, or perhaps to shame the developer into working faster (and presumably putting out a shoddier product).

Thanks for the sincere post. The squabbling about tags gets tiresome, and using the search feature for information just leads to 3 dozen posts with some variation of "just use the search feature" lol

It's been 18 months, and there are still people here who keep trying to gloss over the situation with the same old excuses. Regular updates are the only real instrument for checking whether a game is actually still being developed. This cannot be replaced by any texts or alleged beta test reports (also just text). Those who really work on a game can also publish updates. Certainly not every week, but surely every few months. If a game has not had any updates for over 18 months, that speaks for itself.

We have often seen here how some games simply die and it is not clear for a long time whether they will continue or not. After such a long time, it is simply more likely that a game is at the end and only hot air will come. The sooner we accept this, the sooner we will be able to find new developers who are perhaps more determined and can really make such a development work.

As I said, a lot of text, but no actual update and thus nothing but hot air.

Look, ChatGPT just wrote me instructions (just a long text) on how to build a house. Useful, isn't it?

Now I can see myself moving in, I just have to build it.

Code:
Building a house is a complex process that requires careful planning and execution. Follow these steps to construct a sturdy and comfortable home:

[LIST=1]
[*]Develop a Plan: Before starting the construction, create a detailed plan that includes the house's design, budget, and timeline. Decide on the
number of rooms, their layout, and the type of materials to be used in the construction.
[*]Obtain Permits: Get all the necessary permits from the local building authority. Check with your municipality about zoning laws,
building codes, and other regulations that must be followed.
[*]Site Preparation: Clear the site where the house will be constructed. Ensure the site is level and there are no trees or obstacles that could
hinder the construction process.
[*]Foundation Construction: The foundation is the base of the house, so it is essential to ensure that it is strong and stable. Excavate the
foundation site, construct footings, and pour concrete. Once the concrete is set, lay out the foundation walls, and pour more concrete.
[*]Framing: The framing consists of constructing the walls, roof, and floors of the house. Build the frame using lumber or steel, ensuring
that the walls and floors are level and straight. Install the roof trusses or beams and the sheathing for the roof and walls.
[*]Plumbing and Electrical: Install the plumbing and electrical systems in the house. This includes laying out pipes for the water supply,
drainage, and ventilation, as well as installing electrical wiring and outlets.
[*]Insulation: Insulate the house to ensure that it is energy-efficient and comfortable. Install insulation in the walls,
roof, and floors.
[*]Drywall: Hang the drywall on the interior walls and ceilings. Finish the drywall by applying joint compound
and sanding.
[*]Flooring: Install the flooring, whether it's carpet, hardwood, tile, or laminate. Ensure that the floors are level and
smooth.
[*]Painting and Finishing: Paint the interior and exterior of the house. Install cabinets, countertops, and fixtures. Install
windows and doors, and do final touch-ups.
[*]Final Inspection: Before moving into the house, have a final inspection done to ensure that everything is up to code
and the house is safe for occupancy.
[/LIST]
Constructing a house requires skill, patience, and hard work. With the right plan and execution, you can build a
house that is comfortable, durable, and beautiful.

You're an idiot. There's no update because it's a big update that gets given in one go, rather than monthly. The game gets updated usually once a year and was on track for that until the car crash. Would you complain the same in the Light of My life thread? Anyway why are you complaining? You're on a pirate forum that only gets the update when someone leaks it. It's not as if you've sunk money into the project.

Well then, your answer only shows one thing:
The development of H5 since half a year remains a total mystery to you.

Do you really think this exhaustive list of things done and remaining to be done can't be known and checked by subscribers on Patreon(with direct access to her Discord channel) and/or by members of her forum?
Yeah, all these things were largely presented and discussed on these two media for months now.

And what about this list that everyone will see achieved with the inevitable release of chapter five and all the previous chapters.

If you think your pathetic uninformed opinion can discredit a well-known dev such as nottravis.. Be our guest as mannequin for the bloody shooting gallery(aka fact-checking) while we wait patiently for the update!

It is a pattern that can unfortunately be observed all too often here. Especially with projects that take a long time and consist of only one developer, it can happen that priorities change, interest get lost, but then for some time they try to pretend that everything is fine. It can result in a lot of delays, often also in a lot of false promises. Then there are people who try to defend the project, talk things up, and attack critics. This game is not the first project that is in danger of failure and it will not be the last. The key is to be honest about the fact that 18 months is a ridiculously long time for an update, and the likelihood that this game will actually be finished is getting smaller and smaller.

Move one then! Why are you on a crusade to "warn" people about the game? Do you want a mod to come do another purge and get all your posts deleted? Maybe even banned from the thread. Because at some point if all you say is the same thing over and over no matter what we say to you that's what's gonna happen.
