Wow buddy, I just asked a question cause I thought even people like him (and you, now) have some kind of limit on their patience.

Well then to directly answer your question:

I have nearly unlimited patience for creative people who are putting in a lot of work to create media that I like in their free time and with their own resources.

I have very little patience for people who are contributing nothing but like to crap all over those who are.

That is not directed at you specifically here, just in general for the many people in this thread and others who think being able to freely download someone else's work makes them entitled to constantly whine about devs for not producing fast enough whenever anyone mentions news on the project, or who are somehow pleased with themselves for pointing out delays that everyone is already well aware of if they are subscribed to this thread.

Well, if you think so then you need to understand that people, with time, will lose interest in the game, she already knows that she is taking too much time so if you add being less and less people around here (f95, forums, discord, whatever...) and more inactivity in general, to her personal frustration, it will take the game to this point we are now (frustration).

My prediction is that it will never be completed, but not because it will be abandoned no, just because there will always be something that could be better than before so she will work in a loop until something make her change in the future. (Hell, I am still waiting for a post saying that she will animate the entire game, that would be funny)

As far as I am concerned: its not like I am standing in a queue an can't be somewhere else during the wait. And what would happen when my patience reaches the limit? Refusing to play the game when the next chapter is released? Would that be relevant?

In my opinion "loosing patience" means that I am waiting on something I am entitled to have. But I don't have the feeling I am entitled to anything here, notty is not obliged to spent her time devloping a game for me. So my patience here is unlimited, if it gets released I am happy, if not its sad and thats it.

If you dont like it, you could talk to her personally if you are a patreon or on her forum that I think its free, idk.

Maybe you should know that she already charges a few months this year, so she isnt working for free, and you still think she is not obliged to spent her time on it? This behavior is exactly why this game is taking so long...

But then I'll call it a good thing. We can all witness what is happening, and the more time pass, the more those who still follow the thread are those who really love Notty's works and patiently, like the grown adult they are, wait for the next update.

Validation. If they get acknowledged, even if it's to fight them, it's the attention they crave. At least for the honest trolls.

Exactly, a classic. And anyone who haven't slept through all last two years know that it's not about being pro or con Notty, nor about what is said, but about how it is said...

Between evileeyore's post and yours, there were another one, that no one had complained about, and that yet was removed by the moderation, asking if there were still "brainless who follow that thread" ; his words, not mine.
And what about the other guy who past three months, between February and April 2023, circle jerking between "you all want to fuck her" and "she's milking you", passing from one to the other each time he was making a new post, so around 10 times a day ; yes, during three months, and despite being hit by the moderation more than once during that period.
It's not the worse game thread, but there's not really doubt that it, alas, stand on the top ten in number of members perma thread banned.

No, really, it have never been a question of choice between being pro or con Notty, but between being respectful or not. For around two years, there were not a month without the thread loosing at least 2 pages, therefore 40 posts, when not more, due to the moderation stepping in, mostly by itself, to remove clearly offensive, not to the game but to the dev and players, content ; when it wasn't explicit insults.

Well, I'll not give name, because dev bashing is against the rules, even when it's not the dev's game thread, but for at least one, yes he came here and acted as a pure troll. I don't know, and don't care what his motive was, like I don't care if you believe me or not, it's just a fact.

I would wait at least 3-5 years. Then the game will either be officially cancelled or ...maybe, unlikely, very unlikely, this developer wakes up from his long-term sleep and ...

No , to be honest, it's time to realise that this game is as good as dead. The content up to now is basically an introduction to the story without anything really happening. A few years ago it was promising, now it's just sad to see.

The remastered chapters 1-5 are currently in full scale testing, and expected to be released pretty soon. Best bet is to put it on your alert list and wait patiently for the next release.

Just to make sure you know what you are in for: the dev is a bit of a perfectionist, and the releases have historically taken longer than expected, including remastering an already great game - but the game is very good and worth keeping an eye on.

Despite what trolls are saying, the dev is very clearly still working on this game, the last Patreon post noting progress was about 2 weeks ago. So if you are one of those people who is incredibly impatient and feels like the dev owes you a release according to your schedule you might want to pass on this one. The rest of us just check in every once in a while to see how it is going.

I've been hearing this for months.

If you go by the developer's posts, somehow everything is always finished "pretty soon" and it just takes a little longer. Then at some point he says, sorry everybody, I've decided to rework something again. But it will only be a bit more time ...

If you want to believe it, believe it. I will rely on the facts in the form of actually published updates instead of promises. Which means that despite all the work that has supposedly been done, not a single update has been completed for almost a year now.

Ultimately, this is the same strategy that I am pursuing. Every few months I check in, and oh wonder, again no update to be found. Nobody is saying that this game is bad, at least not me, but what's the point of a game that doesn't make it past the beginning of the story because the developer is stuck in an endless improvement loop due to perfectionism?

Long stories on patreon about failed attempts to make AI work on the story are no proof that anything is going forward with the game. Progress can only be checked with actual updates. I at least no longer believe that something will actually be released again, and see the whole discussion here more as fun to talk about one more most likely failed project.
