Say it ain't so!?!?!! ;)
I do try to behave but it's impossible.

I've got Notty dropping towels and talking about being wet, i've got you guys wanting Becca spanked by Jane .... how the hell am i supposed to be a good girl when i'm surrounded by so many comments that make it so easy to make puns/innuendo's/jokes/just be rude?

It's impossible Dev, utterly impossible.

Well, I was always told that if you can't be good, then at least be good at it. ;)

Okay, I admit, we may be a little bit as bad as each other.

In my defense though it's not often I meet a girl I can have a laugh with like Notty, the sweet pea that she is.

Even people that know me sometimes take me too seriously and seem to think they will catch the gay if I play flirt.

They way some people act you'd think I was the pied piper of pussy. Blow my whistle and all straight woman in hearing distance suddenly start munching rug.

Anyone happen to know how to make a whistle like that?
*can't resist*

*tried!*

Well you know how the last woman got me into bed.......

So you could try that, I suppose?

*is helpful!*

No worries, from what I have seen, someone is punishing her quite well these days...

Apropos of nothing, why did I think of you when the bus went past the Wendy's this afternoon?

Handy if she wants to quickly eat out I suppose...

I take back my complaints of overheating.
Ah, now there's the difference between us dear. I don't have any limits to my hotness... :)

She sure is, even if she is the CEO of Smutress, Inc. ;)

The renders in chapters One and Two are totally fine and i can already see yours uprising skills in Tree, for example the scene on the station's roof with Amanda and the sunset ... just great!
It's a totally normal thing, and especially for a first production, that the renders quality standards will increase smoothly in the futures chapters.
Thank you. Amanda's renders were one of the sets I re-worked in June oddly enough. Glad I did.

That's some next-level stuff right there!
*is all about the next level!*
It's perhaps weird of me to say, but I rather like the idea!:ROFLMAO:
Yeah...it makes sense I think. If the prize is seeing Jane and Becca doing the naughties then, yurp. Let's make it harder *sniggers*...

Delve...

Deep dive...

Are you talking plot or subliminally flirting?

And here was lil ole me, behaving herself.

See, it's all her.

Excuse me a minute while I polish this glowing halo.
Just rug in general.

Call it a carpet clearance sale, first cum first served.
The one on the bed is a bit too tall.

Not ginger or freckly enough either.
I do try to behave but it's impossible.

Someone get this midget an amazonianesque woman or we'll never hear the end of it...
Isn't Chris enough ?

I don't want to be a downer, but after lurking this thread for a while I think I should let you know that IMO this thread is quite intimidating for people curious about the game. There are hundreds upon hundreds of new posts every day (making it very difficult to track anything in it) and it reads mostly like a chat between a few people that know each other pretty well and have their own inside jokes. I really do think it's awesome you enjoy this degree of interactivity, but at the same time I think it's counterproductive towards new players to do it in the game thread.

While having a developer as reachable and engaged with the community is great, maybe this is not the best platform to do it in this particular way. Perhaps a discord server would fit better to have this kind of exchanges and this thread could be used in a more concise, less back and forth way that would make it easier for more people to follow and participate in the discussions.

I hope I didn't come up too much as a killjoy, because I love both the game and the speculations around it!
Slider, thank you for this and my apologies for the delay in getting back to you due to being away for a few days. But before I respond there are two things I'd like to say.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to make such a constructive set of points. It's appreciated.

Secondly, and more importantly, you say that this thread is quite intimidating - and I dare say you're right. You knew, for you're an intelligent man, that offering a critique of the thread behaviour could well result in some negative comments and yet you still did it. For sure, you did it in a polite and constructive manner, but we all know full well how some people on other threads can react. Yet despite that, you did it anyway. You could have kept silent - yet you didn't. That took some degree of courage and for that I admire you. Thank you.

As to the point itself, it's a tricky one. Yes, it does veer off to the chatty sometimes and I'll confess I'm as much to blame for that as anyone. Indeed, I suspect the chatty nature of the thread is largely down to me for the tone is set at the top, no?

My take on it though is threefold.

Firstly, chattiness aside, this is the best place for me to tap into feedback into what is and isn't working with H5. I don't mean plot points etc for those are set. But patreon and discord would only really let me see what people who liked the game thought. Now that's all very nice of course, but what about peeps who didn't like it? Why? Mebbe, for this is my first game, I'm doing something wrong? Also with the user base of these pirate scamps it also allows me to see (for I am a tiny dev on her own) how things such as the easter egg mechanic works. I'll confess I thought the Trisha one was easy - I was wrong. So from a perspective of tapping into the widest possible user base it's fantastically useful.

You make a valid point in respect of discord tho. The trouble is I just don't like it. It has that "text" message feel about it and having recently joined another discord channel I have to say it's not a comms method I like. It has that "reply now" instant feel to it which I just wouldn't be able to stay on top of especially given the size of my little game. Someone later in this thread remarked that this felt like an old school forum where one was using an "email" format to make points and I concur. That format I can handle, being able to salt and pepper responses or, indeed like this one, reply at length as required. This does not negate your point however, it merely reflects my own preference and ability to be able to respond.

But none of that addresses the traffic issue. I took some time yesterday travelling back to have a peek at some other threads of similar size. I wasn't impressed. The content was largely "Update?"; "Save Plz"; "Dev is shit"; "Dev is great!"; "Who's best girl?"; "How do I fuck...". No. No thanks. So, yes, this thread is intimidating, on that I agree. But it's also good humoured, informative, (incredibly when Ava behaves herself it even largely sticks to the game!) and I like to feel welcoming. If I spot a new player/poster I do my best to make them feel welcome and, although perhaps limited in it's effectiveness, I do try to mitigate the issue as best as I can.

So, is this a perfect thread? No. Of course not. But it's, in my opinion now of course, the best thread on the forum for both players and dev.

Having said that tho, your point has some validity and I will think on. For example...

Thank you so much for taking the time to make your point known. It really is appreciated and, indeed from my perspective, admired.

Notty
