I guess I might be the only one...
Hey! I am innocent of a LOT of things!
Nah you are not the only one. Innocence is more a state of mind though, unless you get caught of course and are unable to convince that friendly police officer or judge.
Un peu d'aide fait grand bien, non?
Besides nothing impressive about fighting gorillas. They just sit there eating fruit and are unarmed.
Well if I have nothing else on me as a rusty knive I do think I will give that gorilla a wide berth. Not all of us are USAians that walk around with a semi-automatic or automatic gun when on a walkabout.
Question! *for I am curious...*
Which character has made the most impact on you guys so far?
Obvs you'll have your preference for boffings/attractiveness but I'm more curious about which one you find most interesting.
Really hard to say, both Amanda and Kelly are still to early. Chris and Sarah both peak my interest and Annie is also fun to hang out with, but she gives of the impression she might have a PTSD. Marcus and Trisha are also to early yet, need a bit more interaction with them.
Guess it would be Mike though, since for some reason I was a member of the Kill Mike Kill cult from first moment I met him. No idea why he rubs me the wrong way that badly, but somehow he does. So I guess it is Mike.
*taps chin*
*chuckles* That does sound a -bit- familiar now you mention it...
Yeah I sure bet it does
Well as long as you give us a chance to win, that is what any Dungeon Master does playing with a deck that is stacked against the player and yeah as a dev you are a creator as well.
You -can- spend an age with her. But *looks thoughtful* this is where maybe my design philosophy starts to fall down? Y'see all the content is designed in a way, or at least the best way I can given I'm a novice, that the player gets the game they want. If you want a more serious drama based game - that's what you can have. If you want a sillier game - that's what you can have. But I didn't actually expect completionists when I specced this out.
So whereas some peeps will really find time with, say Amanda, quite interesting - others won't. In fact they could find it quite dull, but they might still run through all the convo options just to see what's there and ultimately end up not enjoying themselves because her content is perhaps more serious than others (as indeed you would expect).
Same for some of the lewds. Some of it will absolutely not be to people's tastes. Some of it will. And yet, I now wonder (again) as per the example above if peeps will end up seeing content they don't actually like (and indeed might put them off playing) just to see it all?
*might have screwed up?*
Nah, you did not screw up, you might have just underestimated the curiosity of people and their ability to look at stuff they are mildly or even more uncomfortable with if interested in the story and characters though. I think I did run through s with 6-8 different characters in Dragon Age Origins and the reactions to a noble were definitely different as to a city elf.
For myself I will likely not play the Chris as Dom route right now, besides having trouble identifying with my MC in that situation and just reasons that I do not wish to trigger some things at the moment. It is not a problem with the content itself though. I grew up very close to the Red Light district and that likely warped my morals a bit from the norm, when comes to sex, from what is normally portrayed in romance novels and what is considered acceptable or normal
That is the point though, we are all adults and as long as we are warned what kind of content we will run into it is our responsibility to decide if we want to go there and whether we should go there. You as the writer are not responsible for that and can't be responsible for our choices, unless you spring something on us we really can't avoid without any warning.
So stop taking responsibility for or worrying too much about other people's choices. It is the same as with giving advice, you take responsibility for giving good or bad advice, but you cannot and should not take responsibility for what that person does with the advice. A disclaimer though that not all content may be suitable to everyone in the game, could be wise for legal reasons.
