It is not overly long, but there are a lot of paths, it could take a month to actually go through all of the possible options.

No, it's not overly long, and very little actual porn content for a porn game. There are good story reasons for that however, and the remasters of the next chapters are supposedly coming along fairly quickly to make up for it.
I feel like you're overestimating both the length and depth of this chapter. I was able to finish a male and female playthrough in a couple of hours, and I was playing for the first time so I was reading everything new. It's really not that long or deep just yet.

It's not a porn game.
It's a story based game with elements of porn in later episodes.
If you are looking for porn you are looking in the wrong place. A lot of VN's, especially newer ones, are more story based.

Actually there are already about 10 paths in total you can take in chapter 1 in total, if i remember right, if take femMC and male MC together, but yeah the game gets way more depth in the later chapters after 1, which is just the intro to the game after all. Actually the game does start to get some sex elements in chapter 2 and 3, but it is more the chapters after that it will come more to the fore according to Notty.
This will stay a game though where the story comes before the sex, it is more meant as an Adult game with sex and even some porn elements in things like the VR game you can play with Sarah as a porn game.

Right, because you played each gender once. But if you go back, and make different choices, so that you can see all of the options that is another story. It did, in fact, take people over a full month to go through all of the possible combinations, and this was when there was only one option for the MC. It all depends on how many of the paths you want to see, by the end, there will be 116 possible paths per MC, since she cut the number down by a good bit. YMMV, I know there are a few paths I won't want to see, while there are others who plan to try every last one of them, so take it for what you will.

Any game with explicit sex scenes in it is a porn game. Just because the author chooses to focus on well written characters and a plot that actually provides realistic motivation for the sex doesn't change that it's porn.
The way I see it, porn is defined by having explicit sex in it, not by the quality of the writing or acting. Back in the day porn studios made enough money being shown in theaters to actually afford quality actors, and wrote scripts that were more than "I saw his huge dick, and needed it inside me so bad." Didn't stop them from being defined as pornographic movies.
If each choice leads down a rabbit hole of new story paths then I will be seriously impressed. I'll try a few more plays and see if any significant changes happen. So far all I've seen is that you affect some character's attitude towards you, and maybe see a few minor scene changes or extra content. Overall though the story itself seems to continue on mostly the same.

Well I think the comparison with those old porn movies with good actors makes sense, since yes the game is intended to have sex, graphic sex even and also some fetishes that will be gated. Not all endings will be completely different and as you say in chapter 1 you will mainly see differences in attitude that brings you on those different routes, though you mainly have a chance as well later to get on the route you want if missed it early on for main girls. Also there is a game over in one case. In later chapters the lines will start to diverge more and more though, really starting in chapter 3 and after.
Just as an aside, Notty's thoughts she shared based upon her writing the game up to chapter 10, before she added femc back in and the lost content she needed to drop cause of old pc render capacity, is that each of the 4 main women have at least 3-4 paths and the other chars at least one. Also there are variations on those routes, some bigger and some smaller. Also you can choose to get killed or get anyone you meet killed.

No, it isn't. This is an adult game or erotic game if you will. The main focus is not on sexual gratification like porn games (or nukige as Japanese call these kinds of VNs). Main story has nothing to do with sex and all the porn-ish elements are completely optional.
I think in this age it is important to make the distinction, as games that are all about porn dominate the market. You said yourself there is "very little actual porn content for a porn game". That's because it isn't one. Branding everything that has explicit sexual content in it as porn by definition is an obsolete way of thinking, in my opinion.
That said, you will be able to play this as a porn game if you so desire. You can also play this as an adventure game or a roleplaying game. It's up to you what you will focus on as a player. I just don't like the porn label as defining element because it creates wrong expectations as adult games that don't have it as main design focus are rare.

While there definitely are "bad endings", there isn't any "canon perfect ending" either. The endings are what you make of it, whether it is the ending you desire or not, is a matter of opinion. The goal isn't even to "pick your favourite girl and have a date with her by the end of the game". Even the main storyline can be mostly ignored (though I have a hunch that'd be an almost guaranteed ticket to one of the bad endings). A harem ending may be possible, but that ending isn't necessarily a good ending, and I'd strongly advice to not regard it as a perfect ending no matter what variations of it might be possible.
The game isn't about sex. Sex is just something that may happen, and the game won't be shy about it when it does happen.
It's a bit like some movies by Lars von Trier: they might not revolve around sex, but can be very descriptive when it happens.
Debates are still raging whether his movies are porn, erotica, art, realistic, or merely explicit.
