But...hiding it still doesn't fix the fact that there is arbitrarily time-gated content. Hoping a newer player is blissfully unaware is kind of a band-aid.

Maybe it's my personal pet peeve that I don't like such content, Idk. Seems kind of a waste to spend dev-time on content most people won't see.
At the end of the day it’s not really a big deal, if you want to see the event content you can change the clock on your device. Obviously it’s not ideal for events to be linked to the real world clock since most people just play the majority of each update as they come out, rather than small tidbits like you would in a game like Animal Crossing.
It would be nice if HHG had its own in game calendar like Stardew Valley, then since time passing is basically the core gameplay mechanic, seasons would change and events could be linked to them naturally in game. Its not really fair to ask this of Komi though since I don’t even know how difficult that would be to implement.
I feel like special events are fine as they are now, linked to the real world clock to make them feel thematically appropriate. If all events were available at all times then it could feel off if you did multiple different holiday events within the span of a week in game.

My idea is to have multiple timed-gated events all over the year. One event starts, the other finishes, and so on. Because I believe it's good for new players or players who completed to update to have some new and short events while they wait for another update. I know it doesn't work with old users, but It'll be beautiful for future users.

I have a lot of new players every day, the timed-gated events will keep their hype up over time.

And... I believe this kind of non-canon / side content should not be permanent in the game. Yes, I may lose some dev-time, as you say. But at the same time, believe me, once I finally reach and make events all over the year, it will be pretty awesome for new players to have new extra and thematical content every 1/2 months, not only that, but the announcements of the events will always bring hype, discussion, and promotion to the game.

Not a lot of people know that if you change the date of your computer, you get a couple of Halloween-themed events... MOST of the people don't even know there are Halloween events. And I'm really hyped to see the reactions of new players to enter the game and, without updating or anything, have a couple of themed events after an announcement. I believe that the "surprise" effect the new users will experience will be beneficial for the game, and for them :WeSmart:

in many games, developers, with such similar content like Halloween or Christmas, leave the opportunity for the player to launch this event at any time, as the player is "ripe" for this. The lines just appear - start a Christmas event or a Halloween? And the player chooses for himself-when and how it is more convenient for him to start it. Developer, please think about the same possibility too.

In the argument to his words above. Personally, I downloaded this game (and got acquainted with it) somewhere in the beginning of summer. Accordingly, I have not heard about any Hellovins. I have gone through the entire storyline and am waiting for the next update. Only by going to the comments here, I found out that the last update was completely dedicated to Halloween.

What I suggest. As the simplest solution - for people like me who missed a huge amount of content and developer work. At some point in the game - after passing some major big quest - somewhere to place a prominent object from the theme of Halloween, Easter, Christmas, etc. And the player, seeing this , will pay attention. He will click - and a message will pop up to him - whether to launch this event or not. And everyone will decide for himself - it's time for this event or you can still play story quests. Or finish the side ones. Everything is logical.

Hello, just to be clear, the last update was not completely dedicated to Halloween. It was a complete rework of the game, the Halloween came as an extra.

And about the way to do this; Don't worry, I don't plan on closing myself in a cube without taking anyone's opinion. I will keep doing this in the way I find best and I believe it will be the best. If in the end, people end up not liking it or for some reason it ends up not working as I thought, I will 100% change it to people's demands.

I'm really looking forward to more of this game! I have only 1 question: I have done pretty much everything, everyone is maxxxed out, but I haven't unlocked "guild member's love" and when I visit Lucy in her workshop in the morning the "action" is just ???. I'm assuming this is where the scene is, but I can't unlock it.

Man this is really nice. A Dev that listen to their fanbase. Kudos fo having such a good game, it doesnt feel like a simple VN as other "sandbox" games do. Ill be playing the game as soon as you release it, after it ill be a patreon for a couple of months or as much im capable of.

tried cheatcode " "showmethesecrets" " and don't feel any difference lol
Are Lucy and Luna sisters? If yes then that is. If not it seems there is something wrong.
The "incest" in this game means Lucy introduce Luna as her sister instead of former guildmember?
Why? I have no fucking idea why it is incest if you fuck both sisters together but Murica.

Two people from the same family in the same sex act will be considered incest in terms of this tag. Most tags don't have to apply to the MC as long as they're in the game. So far, there is no common scene of them however.

Probably a hint to Elizabeth (the mother) and Ari (the sister) and future content with them.
This is the more likely culprit.

What happened to this game because there is no update this death that someone answers :(

It'll be a year soon since the last update which is crazy honestly, no matter what anyone says.
Lest we forget, there have - barring bugfixes and minor QoL stuff - so far only been the first release (more of a demo) and 0.1 - and the difference between them was 11 months as well. And boy, was 0.1 an update - basically the whole game as we know it now.

So while unusual for these forums, nothing to worry about.

Your reasoning for it is the exact problem. I don't mean to come off as an asshole when I say this but this isn't a game like Skyrim, Witcher, Dark Souls, or even a MMO where people will play it year round so time gated events are just a bad idea. Now lets ask if gating the events doesn't add anything to the experience why are you doing it? If you're doing just to get people to play it a little longer or just because you want to you're just purposefully making a bad decision and inconveniencing the player. Your game is good but you need to be realistic people are going to play it get all the scenes they think are available then drop it until the next update and after the game is finished they may revisit the game every few months at best.

let's be reasonable, the idea is good, it's just bad put, he just need to put something like events percentage of completion, and a "special events" tag, something like "story 95%, events 85%, special events 45%"
Special events being events related to time gated events and others needing special trigger, this way people will know if they're missing something, also change trigger would be better like instead use a cheatcode or something.

I'm just disappointed because this
I've started developing HHG in November 2019 I think.
But the game got a complete overhaul rework later. Almost all the content you see in v0.1.1 was made in the last two months.
Had me more hyped than a grown man has any right to be. An awesome game with a highly prolific dev? That's more powerful than an elephant's dosage of viagra.

I generally dislike the idea of seasonal events because I prefer settings have their own holidays and customs instead of the same things we're stuck celebrating. When they are in I prefer a setting somewhere I can check to have them run regardless of machine time, because even if I dislike them I am a whore for content.
