So, when i go to the cardinal with someone, all he says is "Nope" and the interaction ends. Anyone knows the specific requirements ? What should be present and more importantly what should not?

There you go! put it inside: game\content\pic\ui\old

Then launch the game, load your save or pick a new start, then options. In the options you have 3 UI, pick "old". Boom.
if i were to try to replace the font for the text that come up when you entract with the slave which file would it be

All text can normally be edited with qgen, opening the file jack.qsp within the game folder.

About the font itself, I don't know... But the color of the font, it's there.

I have added you both to the "current developer" in the OP as you are both very invested. Hoping to see you stick around until at least full implementation of your work (y)

I have also updated the roadmap, with tasks for us 4, to keep track and coordinate efforts. Please tell me continuously to add new lines, delete some, edit some. :coffee:

On my side, I have advanced a lot on the torture folder today. I have finished inventorying the battering category: 1668282780896.png .

I should be able to give out a finished excel file soon enough, maybe this upcoming week

2.2.4 will be awesome. :)

You know how it is. Life loves to throw curveballs at you. Sometime syou dodge, sometimes they hit and sometimes the curveball is actually a brick and hits you right in the Face.

I will be gone for the next 3 but - more likely - 6 months. And with that i sadly have to announce that i am not able to finish my Guide. I really wanted to help new Players and give Jack O' maybe a slight chance to retain more players and grow back to what it was in its Golden Age. Jack O' and Corrupted Saviors are my absolute favourite Erogames and up there with my favourite Games in general. And especially Jack O' has so fucking much untapped Potential that i really wan't to see reached. I wanted to help a bit with that. I am sorry that i can't finish what i started. I know a few people really depended on the Guide and i got a lot of encouraging Feedback. But at the same Time i think all 9 Parts of my Guide contain enough Information to give you what you need to at least get a feeling for how the Game flows and what is important. Again i am very sorry but i hope that maybe someone will finish what i started and takes the New Players by the Hand to help them.

But i can't just go without at least attempting to salvage the Situation and leave a little Gift. So here is the Rest of my planned approach i would have used for our favourite Slave Tatiana. You can use it and try to replicate my Plan. If you are doing a good Job i guarantee you will break any Slave with any Slaver.

I also uploaded the First and the Last savefile of my Guide if you wan't to play exactly along with the Guide:

So for the last Time and without further ado, this will be a very long one:

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Yeah that was long and i don't have Screenshots because i haven't played until this Point. But this is how i would train Tatiana until the End. I would have really liked to finish it better but there is nothing more i can do. You can find the other Parts in my Signature.

I will be gone in a few days but i hope i find the Time to write another Post before that. I still have something relatively cool to share. I wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance, a lot of cool Fapsessions with amazing Porngames and don't forget: Help our Newbies out, they need it hehe.

How are you supposed to train slaves who are arrogant/strong-willed/pre-spoiled without breaking them or making them depressed and run away?

And why do contracts pay the same for easier specialisations as hard ones, and also ignore the difficulty of obedience training?

Maybe I am missing something, but why would I choose to train a bratty slave as ponygirl over an already pretty subissive one as servant?

Tutorial lectures have a lot of specific advice. Manage mood to avoid despair and running away. Also put a collar and brand on them.

Give a specific scenario if you want more specific advice.

And why do contracts pay the same for easier specialisations as hard ones, and also ignore the difficulty of obedience training?
None of the specializations are particularly difficult. The payments are based on rating and time taken. You can outpace the loss of value on a late contract by raising the rating high enough. If you're finding a particular specialization more difficult, that implies more training time, so you should aim for a higher rating if the slave's attributes allow it.

Maybe I am missing something, but why would I choose to train a bratty slave as ponygirl over an already pretty subissive one as servant?
Higher attributes, particularly beauty, require less time to train to higher ratings, which are more valuable. The requirements of a contract are secondary to the potential of the slave you are offered, because you don't have to complete a contract with the slave you're given. Although you can save scum for specific attributes and any specialization, for variety's sake try taking whatever you're offered. At some point maybe we'll make slave generation for guild contracts deterministic so you can't save/reload to get different girls (have to come back another time instead).

Manage mood
Okay so basically this is what my question is:
If I get a slave that is very rebellious (can't be trained at all or influenced verbally), I am having trouble breaking that rebelliousness without getting her depressed or desperate (or breaking her temprament/nature).

I am also not sure what "your aura/her aura is brighter" means.

Basically my first contract was D- and it was all easy going, she listened to explanations and went to school and I could finish the contract in under 10 days.
But every girl thereafter were arrogant lolis which I couldn't get to obey even the most menial orders without beating the shit out of them or rape/public use, inducing traces of beatings, fainting and/or desperation.

Punishing builds obedience through fear, awareness (and sometimes taming) at cost of mood (and sometimes empathy). Effectiveness varies with slave attributes and slaver attributes and chosen method. Always match the level of punishment to the level of guilt unless you intend to under-punish (ineffective, may improve mood at cost of obedience) or over-punish (may be more effective at cost of mood and despair).

What are the slave's stats? Slaver's stats? What orders were given? What exactly was the outcome, and did you read the text carefully for hints? Don't confuse "refusal" with "poor performance". Refusal is a failed obedience check. Poor performance is diligence; you need to improve the slave's motivation.

Let's assume your slaver has no skills at all and the slave is so disobedient they refuse every command you give, except the ones they can't refuse. They can't refuse tutors, school, sparring in arena, certain rules (enforced), certain clothing... you can actually do a lot with a disobedient slave. With correct clothing for a lesson, it's possible they might do well enough even on day 1 to earn merit. Especially if they have a trait that helps one of the subjects, though that is up to luck. Different lessons have different obedience thresholds for different slaves. Although the slave can't refuse tutor or school lessons, their performance (diligence) will be affected by how much they don't want to do it. The slaver as teacher is suboptimal if he has low teaching skill, so tutors and school are good options even in mid/late game.

Suppose you tried a lesson and now you have a slave who is guilty. There are times when not punishing is beneficial, such as when the slave has high fear and low mood, but at the beginning of training is not one of those times. So, select a fitting punishment. If your slaver is unskilled and weak, physical punishments risk rebellion. With lacking slaver skill, psychological punishments will not be very effective, but at least they resolve the guilt and begin building fear and awareness.

If the slave has enough energy, you can try another lesson. Otherwise, set rules for the slave - to avoid spoiling - and evaluate the slave's evening wear, sleeping conditions and meals, before ending the day. A naked slave gains some overnight obedience at expense of mood. A sun dress or soft slippers improve mood. Various other items increase obedience if worn overnight, particularly those from the Steel Rose, often at expense of mood. Sleeping on the floor increases obedience at cost of energy and mood. Sleeping in the dungeon is a form of punishment so you can put a guilty slave there, or you can simply use it to build fear.

Which rules to use depends on the slave's attributes and what supplies you have. You need at least 2 rules (3 on hard) for a slave that isn't fearful to avoid spoiling. No masturbation and deny orgasm are easy rules because a disobedient slave won't want to break them. To build obedience faster, especially if the slave has low empathy, you can add rules like Behave: silence, with a gag, and/or deny toileting, with an anal pear, and/or behave: pet, with a pet suit, and enforce rules. The items needed for enforcing rules must be purchased (once per game) from the Steel Rose in the Necropolis. If you enable a rule the slave wants to break and don't have the item to enforce it or don't enforce the rules, the slave will break the rule. Higher empathy will gain despair faster from forced rules, but also gain fear faster from punishments. Enforcing rules will build obedience faster.

Meals can be used to raise obedience at cost of mood (restricted portion or no food - but be careful withholding food for more than one day at a time). Once you have a fiend, a fiend tattoo from the Outcasts district will negate the mood decrease from distasteful food, so it can be a good investment for a slave you plan to keep long enough to justify it. Portion size is also important for calories to manage physique and build endurance, and a slave with low endurance should be given supplements (usually worth it in efficiency even if you are poor - consider that guild contracts pay 10$/day speed bonus, so if you can spend less than 10$ on the slave and save a day of training by doing so...).

Before ending the day, consider the slave's mood. Depending on empathy, a slave will gain despair at mood levels ranging from melancholic to depressed. Last but not least, the aura of the slaver vs. the slave. The easiest way to boost this is the spell Magna Magnifika. Wearing Noble Regalia also helps. Besides this, raising the slaver's stats, mood, keeping him clean, etc. The more impressive he is, the easier it will be to develop the slave's taming. Also, the slave will be less likely to rebel.

After several days (usually the first day, on normal difficulty) you'll have a slave completing some lessons without guilt. If you vary the subjects of the lessons, you'll get more opportunities to punish and some opportunities to reward. With a low-skill master or disobedient slave, praise is least effective and rewards in general are less effective. Gifts are usually a good place to start, as they provide ongoing benefits. But they are also costly and you need to consider your cashflow. Also, some slaves have an ascetic trait and dislike gifts. Rewarding with rest or fun is often a good choice for disobedient slaves. A hot springs visit or trip to the beach is an option for improving the slave's hygiene and mood, but watch out for spoiling if they don't have enough merit.

There's lots more you can do to optimize training and pursue other goals. As the slaver's skills increase, direct interactions become more effective. You gain access to more options with an assistant and/or renting an apartment. Magic is a reality-warping cheat code. The once-per-decade events at the colosseum offer opportunities to gain money and advance training goals. Cryo storage lets you train multiple slaves even without an apartment. Certain drugs may be accepted by disobedient slaves with some alchemy training. Don't assume that every slave will behave the same way. Experiment.

I took the old source for JONT and compiled the player for Linux and managed to fix a number of bugs. These bug-fixes were ported to the Windows build and features from the Windows build have been ported to the Linux version. The resulting build:

Due to backend not freeing file-handles, you may eventually encounter an rlimit situation. Just restart the game and resume. Requires *massive* rewrite to fix.
For newcomers to *nix using *barf*:
Bash:
sudo apt install libqt5webkit5 libqt5multimediawidgets5 libqt5widgets5 libqt5multimedia5 libqt5gui5 libqt5network5 libqt5core5a
If you run a non-Gnome aka non-shit distro (yes, fuck Gnome 3 and if you think a random dude from the Interwebz has no clue, then you attempt to reverse Torvald and Stallman, even they hate it) such as Manjaro/EndeavourOS, you already know how to install libs (verify package names) and how not to use a .

Console/shell/terminal if you're on Ubuntu *barf* or an Ubuntu*barf*-like distro because Gnome *infinite barf* can't comprehend running some software outside of a console/shell/terminal:
Bash:
./Jack-o-nine-tails
By the way, so long as the FastQsp engine isn't changed, this should work on more than just v2.2.
Could someone list needed packages on arch? I've installed qt5, pyqt5 package sets, but I still get the `./Jack-o-nine-tails: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5WebKitWidgets.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory` error on run attempts.

It's in the post you quoted, libqt5widgets5...

There's no such package in arch package repository or on AUR, that's why I have to guess it's related to qt5 or pyqt5, but these didn't give any result. Searching in google, in which package these libs reside had no result either

The AUR/Arch repositories don't always have the same name *buntu/Debian packages do. One quick Google search shows a post suggesting it is possibly a part of qt5-base, but not to another user's avail.

Here's the new Helen update:

so the current state now:
  • 3 weight classes(model, voluptuous and chubby or obese)
  • 2 breast variations (normal, augmented)
  • basic bruises
  • clothes for all the variations
  • layerable emotions and reactions
  • excluding backups the total is around 110+ or so images.

Have your assistant buy everything except derivatives and virgin meat. Mince is too cheap for S+ meals, so it won't be used. If you don't eat meat, replace with cream and cheese and pay a bit more.

If you butcher slaves instead of buying meat and/or get milk or eggs from your slaves, you will save some sparks.

Make sure your assistant is always ecstatic to avoid wasting ingredients on lower-quality meals.

(We should probably rebalance the recipes with tenderloin vs. virgin meat so you can't save money by only getting tenderloin.)

Jesus christ bois. The consistency is really fucking good. This was first try. Before i had to do hours of work on all the individual outfits to make them better.
The proportions are damn near identical. If i can do weights in a similarly consistent fashion, i could make 3 weight classes and 2 breast classes for helen. This would come to around a 100 images i think. Hopefully in a quick order. The school outfit is a bit weird but the rest are great.
