Rance is infamous, as pretty much the poster boy for the evils of hentai.
As people write about how he is a voracious serial rapist who is constantly abusing his personal elf slave Sil (who is the only girl who persists between games).
Little do they know is that Sil is the author self insert of the woman who writes the plot and dialog for the Rance series. And Rance is explicitly only abusing Sil because she is a huge masochist, who lies about hating it.
Also the girls he rapes end up loving it.
He also usually saves the day, defeats the villain, etc.
Sengaku Rance was an offshot where, instead of a visual novel, they had a strategy game.
With every small kingdom / province that rance conquers, he captures their princess and/or queen and/or female general for his harem.
Growing his harem as he unifies japan and ends the warring states period. Saving the commoners from the constant neverending wars of petty nobles.
No I think I will, sure as shit will never donate on patreon. Paywalling cheats is beyond scummy.
I know people have the right to their opinion but this one just doesn't feel right. If this is "beyond scummy" what the f would you call Milfy City and other games that don't update for years?

You should not use "Milfy City" because it is completed so have no idea why you saying its "years" without update.
I also don't remember it having the abandoned tag so it was updated with in the guide lines for this site.
Sheesh, I guess you missed out on the drama of Milfy City, you can check the comment history but that would be a bit too much so let's change the example to offcuts by stencilbits. Anyway, there are dozens of examples of games that could be called scummy for not updating and stringing along their Patreon for years. Calling a game "beyond scummy" just because it paywalls the cheats does not make sense.

I agree about paywalls are a scummy way to get more money and it should be with the game.
If I like a game and there is no paywalls then I will buy it once it is completed, I stopped supporting games because to many have become abandoned and many more will do the same sooner or later.
((I am only talking about paywalls in VN/Games on patreon.))

With that logic DLC's are scummy, in-game transactions are scummy, and merchandise and other methods of making money that don't involve the game itself are scummy. You called the whole gaming industry scummy and also any industry that sells side products in parallel to their main product.

I was only talking about paywalls in VN/Games on patreon.
I use to support several games/VN on patreon but when over half of them because abandoned I quit all support.
Games/VN who have paywalls for content is very scummy in my book and will never get any money from me even when its complteded.

Paywalling cheats is probably the most ethical way of encouraging donos given the fact that most cheats are universal and all it does is make it slightly easier. For html games use console, for Ren'py use a save editor(there's even a dedicated tool on this site for both that and for enabling console commands), for anything else just use cheat engine. If you don't even want to download that tool, just edit the files.
