Yes, I am pretty sure. I broke Clara's engagement via capture and still could not raise the other's affection.

Have you tried opening a new save for it? I remember for the mods to work properly it has to be on a fresh save, either from scratch or from new game+.
I don't know the actual issue, I'm just throwing ideas at a wall.
Finished Leane 1 and Leane 2, so I came here to share some tips (mainly for endgame).

Increasing attack and speed does work, but only for the auto-attack(ie troops attacking), which is pretty bizarre. Speed is also just kind of a dumb stat to increase, because your opponent is always going to get one attack off no matter what.

On the other hand, get speed high enough and you get to have 9 turns between their attacks every time.
I find action economy is really good for boss enemies. Also OneMillionDaggers scales off speed, so the more speed you have the more damage you do with it.
Dragon Calvary autos scale of Magic and is pretty tanky but AFAIK only Ares and Leane can class into it.

We don't know yet. The dev is not yet done with his next project, so maybe after he gets that stable and ready to go we'll get to see what he'll be working on next.

Love is on the same page as loyalty, but only if they are a romanceable character or Muriel in the base game.
Love also only becomes a factor for the 2nd phase of the game, so it should always start at a base of 30 except for Dorothy who's love stat is hidden until her route is finished. She starts at 0 AFAIK.
To answer you other question technically no one will be taken into the harem first when the king makes you defend the bridge if all female generals loyalty is I think 90 or above.
Otherwise I believe he has the ability to take any female general minus your sister and his sister, there is a ranking for which he would prefer to take but I don't know exactly how that works.

He only goes after Leane, Beatrice, Cynthia, Marion, Seria, and Carla. They're also the ones you can experience two story events flavored with your highest loyal heroine's lines before the final battle of Part 1. Outside of the sisters, Nora and Dorothy aren't eligible. The king goes for two people. The main ntr event is for whoever has the highest loyalty. The minor ntr event - the one who is shown having sex with the King first - is something I haven't seen anyone figure out yet. Some have said it's random.
From what I recall from my testing back in the day it's the lowest loyalty for the minor ntr event.
And to add on, Nora and Dorothy can only be NTRD in the second half, where you have to do their love events.
