Not on F95:
  • - one lovely female love interest with a non-annoying voice (the flower shop owner) which you get if you grab a drink in the beginning and another one in the bar (and don't miss the epilogue scene after the credits); the protagonist is a clueless idiot who doesn't deserve her.
  • - a lesbian hunger games isekai with a genre-savvy protagonist; ongoing development (there's been radio silence from the developers in the past 8 months but they seem prone to that and delays due to scope creep, so I wouldn't write it off yet).
  • - you can go after your female friend; also features a unique case of a jump boob scare.
  • - has a friendship ending with your girl friends, an age gap lesbian route (sex included), and a hidden route with another girl, although with less content in it (unlocking that one would normally require going through all the other routes, but you can use developer-provided to skip the guy routes); from non-obvious things to avoid, choosing to explore the mansion on the first day (it leads to seeing one of the guys' naked-but-censored sprite), and the polygamy option (it's for the straight polygamy route); backstory-wise, it's implied the protagonist had a boyfriend in the past (whether she had any lesbian lovers can be decided with a dialogue choice), but during the game you can push all guys away.
  • - three lesbian options to choose from, four endings for each.
  • - possibly abandoned but most of the story and the romance are in, and the cutoff point works well as an open ending.
  • - one lesbian option; the customizable personality of the protagonist doesn't do much, but replaying the route adds new scenes.
  • - it's unfinished (the developer likely won't return to it because of health issues), but there are two female love interests and enough romantic content already in.
  • - a depressing story about you and your possible girlfriend.
  • - has a lesbian protagonist and a lesbian love interest but the protagonist is love-shy and can't muster the courage to confess before the ending (and then the story apparently skips 15 years and the chracters become villains of the author's webcomic), so it counts (and you get to play as a cool tsundere) but may leave you wanting a bit more.
  • - a depressed loner meets an overly attached lesbian hermit; kinetic, can be downloaded.
  • - the lesbian route is complete (the ongoing one is for the cold professional route without romance).
  • - short, voiced, flirty comedy with shark and vampire trivia and two gay vampire ladies that are very into you.
  • - a short melancholic story with a lesbian protagonist.
  • - a short porn game; the archive contains redundant archives with Win and Mac versions in addition to the unpacked game (so if you intend to keep it on your disk after playing, just keep the 100 MB zip that's inside and delete the 280 MB one you downloaded).
  • - the protagonist grows to like an unknown girl she's been exchanging notes with.
  • - a short house date with a sleepover between an asexual human and an aromantic succubus with a job burnout.

How come these games aren’t here?
- some are romance-only with "no sexual content", which would lead to an avalanche of comments complaining about "muh porn website" if added/requested too often
- some may have gone unnoticed due to zero advertising or possibly fell through the cracks of itch.io's popularity algorithms
- someone has to request one to get added or do most of the thread-creating work themselves
- if they're free, there's less incentive to bother requesting them (you can already grab them from the dev, no pirating required)
- Refraction apparently only became free last month, so maybe it was among the commercial VNs that not many people bought for whatever reason

edit: As a counter-argument to all that and a reason to back up the cool stuff, I can point at some indie developers deleting their itch.io accounts and/or games for stupid reasons (from players' point of view, at least), and the download system there doesn't let crawlers from sites like archive.org grab the files, so some games just disappear from the Internet if that happens. May be an artistic decision of "my game isn't as perfect as I'd want and I'm ashamed of it" ("and I will remake it in 10 years, please wait till then"), may be like with my portrait's where the developer made the game with her girlfriend but then they had some bad break-up and after some time she deleted it because of the emotional baggage attached.

That's good to know, and makes sense I'd say.

So the Hermione thing was a fanfiction, I missunderstood that. Doesn't make it any better though, as a fellow writer I am genuinely confused, it seems rather odd to do such a 180 and derailing (+ ruining) your own story like that after putting so much work into it.

I suppose Wands & Witches isn't perfect by any means, but at least the Luna route felt mostly pretty spot-on, capturing the personality she has in the books well enough. I would much prefer if the game was less trying to be humorous, though.

I'm trying to think of another, really good, yuri VN I read but I'm not sure if there really is any. Most VN in general don't fully convince me. Maybe Seduce Me The Otome is a worthy mention (I assume you know that though, since it' sold and for free even on Steam itself), I loved both lesbian routes with the protagonist's best friends, even though sadly (but for obvious reasons) those didn't get continued in the sequel which focused on the name giving "Demon War" and the continuation of the 2 routes would have meant writing basically a 2nd complete story + a half to cover both girls. There still was a lesbian option among the Demons though, so I feel the author doesn't really deserve much critique for any of that.

Are there other games/VNs that you would recommend to definitely avoid?

Uff I didn't remember seduce me, I played that game about 6 years ago in my first semester of college, it was one of my favorites but that sequel never interested me.

games I would recommend I can think of now
no sexual content
Wolf Tails
Heart Of The Woods
Love Ribbon incest

I can't think of any games to avoid.

The "company" I like the least that makes lesbian games is Darkher, their games are basically cash grabs with recycled cg and mediocre stories, but if you like sexual scenes they are good for that.

but never play Neglilee Love stories, that game was a scam, I remember how they promoted it as something lesbian since it was a prequel to their most famous lesbian game and it had nothing, only a few scenes, it's not even "love stories", everything is rape there.

from what I've seen of what you like, I mention Sisterly Bliss ~Don't Let Mom Find Out~ I don't know how you feel about the incest theme, but this game is a bit like nurse love addiction, it has 2 very romantic and happy endings and 2 very dark ones, so I don't know if you would be interested or not, but it's one that I liked a lot.

EDIT : I also forgot to mention the sono hanabira games, I imagine you have played them since they are "classics", they don't have the best stories or anything like that but some of them are quite funny with a lot of sexual scenes.

I literally never heard of The Expression of Amrilato, gonna download that for sure. The other 3 I own but haven't played yet, gonna look forward to them now. I think Wolf Tails & Love Ribbon are both from RazzArt, aren't they? I had been anticipating Let's Seduce The Heroine, but sadly the Dev seems to have more or less disappeared from social media and never finished the game, despite it already having had a release date etc. quite sad, hope she's alright at least.

Darkher are familiar, I think I recently played or at least looked into one of their games, but I also wasn't really captivated, to the point where I can't even recall the title.

I did download Negligee (I think both, but definitely the sequel), haven't played it though, I think there's like another game set in the same "world" (Faerie Paths or something like that) and that 1 was so odd I kinda decided against playing Negligee at that point, not sure if I wanna try it out now after reading what you say about the Prequel they made. Dubious Consent/Rape are not a total no-go, but I want it to be something the player can actively choose to experience or avoid, and I'm not sure if I ever read a VN in which I did not find it off-putting, to put it mildly. It's something I can enjoy when there's a protagonist I created myself (like for e.g. Trials in Tainted Space), not so much when it's more of a character who's story I read about & who's established as definitely being totally against whatever specifically is happening to them.

If you played "Descent": I couldn't really enjoy even the more or less (aside from an obligatory handjob, which to me makes it non-pure lesbian, but I also can only appreciate the person who found that path through the game, since the author themself said they didn't think it was possible to avoid everything aside from that forced handjob) lesbian path because the protagonist is so clearly not a lesbian, not even bi, and the whole thing is done in a really not-okay way. (Right at the start there is a short window during which the lesbian "romance" option isn't a rapist and what they do can be explained by a pretty believable misunderstanding), but that is then immediately discarded, so it just felt pretty ewh.

I don't mind the incest tag, it's basically neutral to me. Sisterly Bliss I'll get, maybe I'm gonna use a guide though, not sure if I really want to accidentally stumble into the macabre side of that. Same for Nurse Love, from what you say.
