The more uncanny the better. Sure, Daz is not photorealistic yet, but some of the stuff on Pixiv is close to real that uses some other render engine based on deepfake AI (could be mistaken for real porn if it weren't for metadata and some models that are "too perfect"). If I want to look at cartoons with a good story I just watch TV or Netflix.

I dont think Maya's mom is ever mentioned. But I agree it probably is Ami's mom that used to be a poet. Perhaps she even teached Sensei what he knows.
It's still fiction, as the models only exist in the creators' imaginations and as 1's and 0's no matter how real they appear to be. It's a shame Pixiv is mostly just comics and render sets instead of fullly cooked Renpy AVN's, but maybe that will change at some point.
