NTR means different things to different people. I guess harem can as well. I have zero desire for the impotence/humiliation angle. I also have less than zero desire to play a game where the MC is small and has a small dick.
However, I love games that feature women who have sex with multiple partners. So long as the MC is a sexy, confident dude who gets it on with lots of partners, the aspect of women having sex with someone else too only makes it hotter for me. Open relationships, sharing/swinging, seducing the wives and girlfriends of other guys, group nudity, etc. Or even just the fact that the MC knows that the women aren't chaste virgins waiting for him and only him, which is something that's a really boring turnoff for me.
What about situations that feature other people having sex with someone that the MC isn't in a relationship with? I see posters who have a big problem with that, for whatever reason, and I can't really wrap my head around it. That doesn't really fit into any of those three categories usually listed.NTR is just a broader term. it is further divided into 3 variations and based on the variation, the theme changes
Netorare ( where someone steals your women and she loves it )
Netorase ( where someone steals your women and you love it lol ) - Japanese definition of being a cuck
Netori ( Where you steal someones women ) Neoraere in reverse
Simple terms - for Chads
Netorare: being cucked.
Netorase: being a cuck.
Netori: cucking.
If you want a more textbook answer, then:
- Netorare (NTR):
- Netorare (NTR) refers to a genre or narrative theme where a protagonist's romantic partner is seduced, stolen, or taken away by another character.
- NTR often involves emotional betrayal and can evoke intense emotions such as jealousy, heartbreak, and anguish.
- Netorase:
- Netorase represents a variation of NTR that involves consensual involvement or approval from the protagonist's romantic partner.
- In Netorase scenarios, the partner may willingly engage in romantic or sexual activities with another character with the protagonist's knowledge and consent.
- Netori:
- Netori revolves around a protagonist actively pursuing or seducing the romantic partner of another character.
- In Netori storylines, the protagonist becomes the one who steals or seduces someone else's partner.
There are players who see any woman even talking with another male character and consider the discussion NTR. These players have the mindset of "all holes are mine" and any man other than the MC avatar having access to those "holes" is a violation of trust and disgusting. What about situations that feature other people having sex with someone that the MC isn't in a relationship with? I see posters who have a big problem with that, for whatever reason, and I can't really wrap my head around it. That doesn't really fit into any of those three categories usually listed.
For example, I had a discussion a while back where I asked if the MC and his best friend went out and met two women, brought them back to their shared apartment and had sex in the same room, would that be NTR, and people said yes.
Or even situations where a man other the MC is fucking his own wife or girlfriend, who the MC isn't also having sex with. Not only are scenes of that called NTR by some, but some guys don't even want to hear that any other man is even having sex, which just blows my mind.
I've even seen people complain that the character watching porn within the game is NTR. (pornception?)
Is there a better team for those kinds of things? They seem taboo when to me, they really shouldn't be.
I have never seen anyone saying that talking is NTR.There are players who see any woman even talking with another male character and consider the discussion NTR. Oh man, I absolutely have. Like I said, I thought it was nuts. Its been in multiple game threads where someone was going off because a woman mentioned sex with an ex. Or funnier, a women who was cheating on her husband with the MC mentions that she had sex with her still married partner.I have never seen anyone saying that talking is NTR.
This seems like a hybrid between reduced to absurdity and strawman.
And that's not just her talking to another guy, is it now smart guy?Oh man, I absolutely have. Like I said, I thought it was nuts. > A woman talking to YOU and telling you about all the guys she fuckedOh man, I absolutely have. Like I said, I thought it was nuts. Its been in multiple game threads where someone was going off because a woman mentioned sex with an ex
You're correct. I read it wrong the first time, and sorry about that.> A woman talking to YOU and telling you about all the guys she fucked
> A woman talking to another man and you freaking out of her doing so.
You... don't see anything different in those two things?
No problems. happens to everyone. You're correct. I read it wrong the first time, and sorry about that.
Would it still be happening in the background or not happen at all?Dark path has the option of not showing it either.
Player choice to avoid NTR/Sharing means it doesn't happen.Would it still be happening in the background or not happen at all?
like some games gives you the option to hide what you do not want to see but it still happens, so that kind of stuff
Great, so that means people will still be able to play dark route without these ( might miss on some stuff ofc but whatever suits their stomach )Player choice to avoid NTR/Sharing means it doesn't happen.
One choice that leads to NTR that is simply marked as Dark is showing a photo to someone when you find it by their door.
However, the organization's purpose is to have women whore themselves out. Once you've forged a connection with some girls in the mansion, you're given the choice to become exclusive.
Characters who are doing things off screen not specifically mentioned and not shown include Luna, Eva, Tanya, Stella, and the women in the Alleyway in the city.
To be clear, Rose has not been with anyone since Chad, where they dated but she never gave him her cherry. She has toys though, and she's a smart woman, so she knows how to have fun.
Well... I chose to avoid it every time and am playing the light path.Player choice to avoid NTR/Sharing means it doesn't happen.
That line of dialogue was not about a femboy but a trans-girl. Also, they're standalone Christmas events that usually don't appear in the game. Not that it matters much.*snip*
This entire post can be summed up as "NTR haters are mean people who bullied me".That line of dialogue was not about a femboy but a trans-girl. Also, they're standalone Christmas events that usually don't appear in the game. Not that it matters much.
The first scene you're talking about is written from my personal experience over my game development journey. I've always try to remain as neutral and helpful as I can while also trying to be professional in my responses.
Maybe you see the topic of NTR differently which is all fine but let me explain a couple of things from my point of view. I'd reckon most people possibly won't understand or notice as they're simply someone passing by.
This following is a general kind of message not fully directed at you.
This game was made for fun over 3.5 years ago (4 years in total). Ever since then I've had the pleasure of dealing with a loads of different people including the anti-ntr squad.
They are unhinged, and can go quite far to the point of harassment. There are hundreds of comments in this thread alone about NTR despite it being optional. Not counting quite some stuff that has been removed by the mods.
I've had to deal with plenty of one star "Eww NTR" reviews on many occasions, all by people who haven't played the game but just saw a tag. Then there's plenty of comments to deal with comments like: "gay game", "shit game", "game for faggot retards", "cuck this, cuck that", "hang yourself" and plenty of other comments of similar nature.
I also have to mention that the toxicity thankfully got a lot less over time, I'm not sure why but maybe that's because we got better and improved a bunch of things in the game. There is still some outdated stuff but that will be resolved as well.
Probably unrelated but lately we're also dealing with helpful feedback wrapped in a nice reviews such as "shitty writing", "waste of bandwidth", "game sucks", "renders suck", "animations suck", "dev is a scammer", "dev is self touting?" and more.
Then you have the people that know everything better and should become devs themselves, plenty of examples of that but just to give a random quote "Just slap a couple of images together and write some dialogue".
Not to forget the players that barely play the game even though it clearly states that it takes a long time to complete and has a story that's made to become more interesting over time. Obviously this all gets fully ignored and has to be followed up with a mandatory "trash game."
Now I understand this is the internet and all, and people can be fairly toxic in general no matter what you do.
Usually most readers won't give it a second thought, the main difference is that it's aimed at your work or even at you so it does become a lot more personal.
It's not fun to read that stuff and one of the issues I have with it is that the negativity surrounding this game is quite high in comparison to other games.
What this does is that it removes part of my joy and motivation, not only in making games but also IRL as it affects my mental health. I don't want to become some spiteful, cranky, jaded dude.
Obviously and very important:
The majority of players do enjoy the game and some are even fans as well which is absolutely amazing. There's also been a lot of help, a lot of good and constructive feedback, bug reports, lots of nice comments and donations which is great to see and helped tremendously.
It's thanks to them that I'm pushing forward and making the game as fun as we can. If it wasn't for that I would have been out of here within the first couple of months.
What some people seem to forget is that this is the first game I ever made with no real prior experience before starting out. The time and energy it costs to make a game like this takes a lot more than a full time job. We're probably nearing the 20.000 hour mark by now.
This is literally a free game made by amateur devs. We're not some major gaming company that screwed players over with an unfinished buggy game that they paid a lot of money for.
Sometimes I wonder why I am even doing this because I could be doing a lot of others things that are also fun, gives more free time, is a lot less stressful and won't make me doubt my own sanity.
I already mostly stopped participating on public platforms. When this game is finished I'll probably stop participating as a whole. The new game that we're developing is something where I won't play an active role in the forums and the likes either so I can feel less anxious, more happy, sleep better and just focus on my own life and the fun aspect of it all which includes making games that we think are fun.
I'd reckon this is the same for Xo as he also had plenty of shit thrown at him even though he's been a great addition to LTA in every sense of the word. Despite what some may say, I believe he's a very talented writer, WAY better than I am.
Lastly, the following should speak for itself but it might change the view of a few of readers which is already a win in my book;
Be nice to developers, especially when they're just starting out. Maybe that will result into games getting abandoned less often or maybe they'll grow and make something great later down the road.
In short, developers are people, they don't deserve the hate, even less so if it's just for certain fetishes.
Should be a rule of life or even just this site. The ultimate repeat response is this:
