I hold the alt/option key and dragged the 'data' folder however, I got a popup. Which one should I do?

Being a windows user I'm not one hundred percent sure, the wording is so different. You want to replace the original files with the ones from the patch, but keep all the other old files. Don't forget the tyrano folder too.

It still has some bugs from the new coding changes, but it should pretty much do its job. Make sure you have the and it's installed right.

Maybe it would help if you explained what issues/errors you are experiencing.
It changes some of the buttons but absolutley no of the dialog is changed. Doesn't appear to have way to select dialog language either.

Look I have a GD masters CS, Nuclear engineering, and electrical engineering I followed the guide to the letter. I'm not some idiot who can't read. It simply doesn't work.

You must have messed up somewhere, because as I said it's working for me and others.
Do you get any errors? What OS are you using? Did you download the latest patch? Did you actually replace the files when asked?
is it just me or is anyone get an alert that tells you "tag:[set_dinner_dress] does not exist" whenever you eat something at the cafe?
Not just you there are still a few bugs in the game which need to be patched, there a dirty fix for that error here - #3,515, whilst you wait for a proper patch.

It's a Victorian era thing, a fancy dress with long sleeves to wear for events in the day. In game I think it's the first dress (the simple dress) you buy Sylvie.
Make sure the patch is properly installed, see the spoiler in the post here for visual instructions. If your on a Mac look two posts above this one, or here (and Windows and Mac terminology is different).
If your stuck loading a old 2.4 save you need to load and resave the save in a unpatched 2.5.

I got an alert saying, "Alert: [set_dinner_dress]" even though she was wearing the first 2 dresses.
