Mod: Home Assignment

This mod adds an "Assign Home" action to the PC menu which allows you to assign homes to NPCs. This is primarily for role-playing/immersion purposes. You can use it to move couples/families into the same home, or move friends/partners into homes closer to yours so you don't have to travel hours away to get to them.

How it Works:
You must be in the Home building that you want to move the NPC(s) into, and the home cannot be yours or your partner's. Once you're inside the home, use the action and it'll open up a menu where you select and confirm the NPC you want to move into this home. They'll then move into that home from wherever else they were living. You can do this multiple times for different NPCs to move them into the same home.

Whenever you assign a home to somebody it'll add a marker for that home on the map similar to the one that gets added for a person you are dating. A side effect of this which may be considered a bonus to some people is that the home will then allow all of the same actions you could normally do at you or your partner's home unless you remove the marker from the map. I realize that the markers/opened up homes might be unwanted by some people, so I've added the ability to toggle this on and off.

To toggle the adding of map markers, hit the ~ key and in the textbox at the bottom right of the screen enter toggle_home_markers. This will enable/disable adding new markers depending on the current state. It will not remove existing markers on the map, but you can remove those manually the same as any other marker.

Installation:
Unzip the archive in your Modules directory and activate the mod with the in-game mod manager.

Known Issues:
  • This doesn't currently work with relatives. I'm still looking for a way of handling them.
  • Using this action will reset the look of your bedroom, so make sure you've saved a preset of it that you can reload after you're done moving people.
  • Starting a relationship with an NPC moves them to another random home for some reason. You'll have to re-assign them to the home you want afterwards.
  • moveTo(Home_Dating) will bring you to your partner's original home if you assign them to a new home after starting a relationship with them, and similarly isAtDatingHome() only returns true in the original home.
Home Markers:
  • The marker will only contain the NPCs first name, so it may get confusing if you move multiple NPCs with the same name into different homes.
  • If you move multiple NPCs into the same home, the marker will only show the name of the last person you moved in.
  • If you have multiple NPCs living in the same home, and you move one of them to another home, the previous home will no longer be marked even though there's still other NPCs living in it. Move one of the remaining NPCs into the home again using the action if you want the home to be marked again.
  • If you move somebody into a home with markers enabled, disable the markers, and then decide to move another NPC into that same home, the marker for that home will disappear.

Changelog:

Would it be possible to enable the femdom positions for more than just Female > Male combinations?

Vinfamy: Since 4.4. i´ve encountered that Stats of NPC´s are not properly saved. (maybe in 4.3. too but didnt seen it).
They are often set back, what makes it hard to play and raise their Stats (especially Rapport and Attraction, which hardly needed).
Even with the Edit Stats under Contacts its not working most of the Time.
Changing Stats, wasting some time (like 2-3x sleep) and Stats are resetted.

Its Bad for Mods too, cause it happens there too. (Like Dungeon Mod from Lostlegends where you now cant bring Obediance to 100 cause its always resetted to 0, or sometimes Stats frozen)

Edit: Ok, seems i figured out why. Still had a change in some Files (thought i had it vanilla already) Have to test bit more, but looks like Fault on my side. :cautious:

I have already noticed this within my mod and had started checking why it is happening, However I am using 4.2. and it is only on a specific few npc's in my case, obediance and fear getting reset to zero.
It isnt worth too much time though, because the dungeon mod is getting rewritten, and my stats wont be attached to the npc's after the rewrite. The stats will be held within the room data.

Lostlegends: Yeah i know you are rewriting the Mods. Im already exited for ;) Was just an example which came into my mind that Mods are affected too. And i dont know what its causing, cause its not always happening.
I´ve started new Savegames where it doesnt happen yet (or didnt recognized it) and Savegame where it does happen over and over.

Just got this game was excited to use it but as soon as I get to the city selector nothing happens followed the tutorial and waited over an hour for it to load but nothing happens, game is completely vanilla no mods. I have an i5 gen 4, 1060, 16gb ram so it's not my powerplant.

Been writing a scene featuring random chance, yet the Random number generator function appears to be broken. Here's a snipit of my code is below:-

winchance = Random(1, 1300)

If winchance => 1 && winchance <= 100
... (several other Elseif branches of different winchance values)
Else
"The random number generator is fucked, Jim!"

The Else branch is always the result. Is the random number generator broken in 4.5, or is my code wrong?

This is the problem: "=>". This one is set the variable value to 1 i think. Try this ">=".

Could someone tell me something (some Dev or you VinFamy) ?
I played some modelling agency from tvalle recently. Question is, does anyone know how hard it is to implement the mechanics of SMAgency into LifePlay? I really have no idea if that would work or could work but i am pretty sure that a game that would merge both advantages together would be highly appreciated not only by myself but of course I could be wrong.
Edit: lol I just saw that in the comments above you are talking in code so I change my "some dev or VinFamy" to the average user xD

You'd have to elaborate on the mechanics you want to see before anyone unfamiliar with the game you're talking about can give you an answer about whether they can feasibly be implemented by Vinfamy or in a mod.

Here is a room preset i did (Penthouse). It's a complete revamp and overhaul on one of Vima's room presets (Apartment). I personally don't think this room is done, mainly the lack of objects available. will plan to update as more objects become available. So i hope you enjoy.

You can find my presets here: Link.
For now, it's only fantasy characters, but soon I'll release human characters too! :)

A couple of questions, hope somebody knows.

1. In which file are the numbers that control the chance of condoms to break?
2. Some female characters have fertility days like "-1 -4" instead of say "18-23". How can I fix that? I've checked the chars files but I didn't found anything related to that.

Obviously it's not hard to cheat in this game when you can edit whatever files you want and freely modify character stats, but nonetheless I found a major money exploit involving default scenes/game mechanics while fixing some bugs in my Home Assignment mod.

Apparently if you don't have a home or if you move out of your home, then the game automatically considers your partner's home to be your home, and it gives you all the same actions you'd normally see in your home, including the "Move out" action.

The problem lies in the logic of the move_out scene which doesn't discern whether this is indeed your home or whether you're just living in your partner's home. When you don't actually have your own home your rent is $0, and this scene assumes that if your rent is $0 then you must own this home outright, so when you "move out" it'll then sell the home for hundreds of thousands of dollars or whatever the equivalent is in the local currency. The home isn't actually sold though since it belongs to your partner, and because the game automatically moves you in with your partner again you can continue to use the move out action repeatedly for more and more money.
