The game is extremely difficult, I even downloaded some kind of cheat menu with all these cheats turned on in the game
with max Courage, Charisma, Agility, Pathfinding. and I don't think really helped at all, the game eventually made it to the last day and the fairies basically killed people in a war and all the characters lived miserably ever after in doom and depressing gloom and then the game ends.

It also never lets the MC have sex with the main characters like Callie or Evelyn or Primrose etc. no matter what clue/card I present, also impossible to prove Primrose innocent and I literally did everything that was available in Library.

Thanks to the two people who tried to help, but this game is way beyond my novice game playing abilities.

This game is not your typical visual novel fap-fest, you need to use your brain and make considered choices. It is (IMO) well worth the effort. My guide has a big section at the end on finding the clues needed for secrets. And another section on wooing each of the women. The women in the game don't jump in the MC's bed for no reason - you have to make them like you, not just reveal their secrets and remove their inhibitions.

At the same time, though, this is not an RPG - maxing out skills does not really help all that much since the game is gated more to events than to your stats. Likewise money is pretty useless (you have no use whatsoever for more than about 110 or 120 coins). There are a few puzzles, and some of them are annoying, but that's what guides and asking for help on fora like this one are for.

You got one of the worst bad endings, the war happens if you don't ever visit the Fae court at all... which means you also completely missed a massive chunk of the game's content.

Keeping Primrose out of jail: investigate the library 3x. Talk to P about what you found (modifies one of the clues). Then "present a clue" to Samarra for each of the things you've learned, and she tells you one more clue. With all that, you can reveal P's large ("guilty") secret. That secret lets you know that something happened in the library's back alley, so search there. Ask the crone about what you found. Go to Samarra and tell her everything you learned from P, from searching, and from the Crone, and P is cleared of suspicion. It's a lot of back and forth, but it's not "Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes" or Infocom-level difficult.

There are guides in the OP that are very useful. If you don't succeed on the secrets, it's because you're missing clues. Explore everywhere you haven't been before, talk to people, the Library is not enough.
I think the surest way to get through the game is to talk to everyone! ;)

Finished my first playthrough. I quite like the game, though I find it unlikely that the king would not be allowed to have concubine.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

The best part was that I had music on shuffle, and Beethoven's Ode To Joy started at the moment I convinced Lillith to fuck me. Perfect timing.

Edit 12:11 PM: Primrose ended up arrested several times [tried over and over repeatedly with the same result]
because I could never get anywhere with the game, so I give up, will delete game and stick with the easy Visual Novels
I suppose. Also note the Sherlock Holmes hunt for clues type games, I am terrible at those [as you can probably tell] unless
I have a guide showing me exactly where everything is located at then I will never find them.
My WT/guide in the OP tells you exactly what to do and when, to get every "girlfriend" in one playthrough. So if you follow that you will get all the content and Primrose will not get jailed, and so forth, and you'll get the best ending. (y)

I even have a different guide only for Primrose, if that's the only thing you would want to look at.

Here's a Link straight to my post to make it easier: https://f95zone.to/threads/long-live-the-princess-v1-0-1-belle.5259/post-9487076

StephanieD:

OK, here's a step-by-step on keeping primrose out of jail.

First stage, reveal Primrose's guilty secret.
1. investigate the library 3 times, get 3 clues.
2. having investigated the doors and windows, talk (just talk, no spellcasting) with Primrose and you'll see an option to ask her how the killer got in. This modifies the clue about doors and windows.
3. go to Samarra. "present clues" (not invade mind, it's a separate menu item) to her 3x - about the key, about the book on poisons, about the library's finances. She tells you a new clue about the nature of the poison. You now have all the clues you need to reveal Primrose's guilty secret.
3.5 You must have before this point trained with the Crone x2 so that you're able to reveal large secrets.
4. go to Primrose. Invade mind. Pay attention to the dialog during the spell, it provides very clear hints about which clues you need to present in what order.

Second stage: reveal Samarra's large secret.
1. Once you end the spell with Primrose, she shows you a secret room in the library and tells you the full story of an old woman visiting at night, who she let in. This gives you the clue that Primrose let someone into the library the night before Merek died. (clue 1)
2. At this point, and not before, searching behind the library will reveal the presence of chameleon scales (clue 2).
3. The person you know who knows the most about magic is the Crone, so go ask her what they mean (clue 3).
4. Go to Samarra and invade mind. Present the three clues. Say that someone used the scales to shapeshift into the form of an old woman, and that's it: once you end the spell, she cancels her plans to arrest Primrose. If P has already been arrested, she will be released.

As for the "fey declare war and kill everyone" ending: I was wrong, I guess that ending still can happen as long as the Fairy King (who was the one who wanted to just declare war) is still in the picture, so you must not have visited the fey court for a third time (1st visit: meet everyone and have sex with the queen, 2nd: find the queen at her bath, 3rd (in the afternoon, morning visits are just a repeat of the bath scene): meet them both in their throne room again, get killed by the king and raised from the dead by the queen)

nishka and glaurung, or anyone else that wants to comment, I'm curious what you personally rate the difficulty
of Long Live the Princess the game 1-10 with 1 being least difficult to 10 being most?

I think it is 5-7 if you just wander around figuring it all out yourself.

I think it is below 4 if you use the guide. The walkthrough can be a 1 UNLESS you miss a domino, then it can be an 8+

It's a hybrid visual novel/adventure game, inspired by another VN/adventure hybrid, Ace Attorney (which I have never played). Compared to other VNs, it's much harder but most VN's don't feel like games to me, they feel like a very boring and tedious way to be told a story. Compared to other adventure games I've played, it's low to middling difficulty - not nearly as annoying as either of the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes adventures or an infocom game. There are hints aplenty built into the game, and with two exceptions the puzzles/quests are not very complicated. Plus, no pixel bitching.

I am, however, the kind of person whose first question for any game with lots of quests and puzzles is, "is there a FAQ for this game?" and then i read that before trying to play. Which is why I wrote a guide for this game - because instead of empowering you with information, every walkthrough I could find just told you what to do when, which I found to be helpy rather than helpful. (cf: Colbert's "Truthy.") But that's me, YMMV.

I would say that completely depends on what you want to achieve in the game.

Without guides/WT's
  • "4-5" If you just want to get a good ending.
  • "7-9" If you want to have all girls unlocked in the same playthrough and get the good ending.
  • "1" If you just want to finish the game and don't care about the outcome.
  • "8-10" If you want to get all achievements in the game.
With guide/WT's
  • "2-3" If you just want to get a good ending.
  • "2-9" If you wantto have all girls unlocked in the same playthrough and get the good ending. (This is hard to rate, since some players have a hard time following a specific route in this game, since it's "open world", and one mistake will fuck it up :))
  • "1" If you just want to finish the game and don't care about the outcome :ROFLMAO:
  • "4-6" If you want to get all achievements in the game. (Since I have included a guide to all of them at the end of my WT :D) "But again can be hard for some to follow a step-by-step guide." So possibly a "8-10" here aswell

Well crap. I made a change in my guide - adding a short FAQ section at the beginning - and screwed up somehow so that dropbox decided to break the link.
the new link is
I have updated the link in the post that's in the original post at the top of the thread. Sorry everyone.

You have all the clues you need. First clue in 1st row: she lied when she said she threw away the porn. 2nd clue in 2nd row: people say she never throws anything away. 1st clue in 2nd row: she has several overdue books checked out.
