It's only frustrating to you because you tried to use a walkthrough that ended up not working. If you had started without one, as intended, you wouldn't be having this experience. Don't put that on the game.

The only people who seem to really struggle with the game are the people who have used the walkthroughs. Funny that.
I agree with Belle playing without following that outdated walkthrough is far less frustrating. I always save at every big choice in the game so i can always load that save if an outcome is not what i wanted.

I disagree completely. Walkthroughs are designed to get the most out of a playthrough so you don't have to use trial and error. The events that you fail are not hinted at, at no point in playing do you ever get the idea that if you mess up your sisters events that she leaves for good. At no point does the game tell you when you need specific stat points raised until you suddenly fail the check. Not using a guide doesnt magically make those things known.

I think both sides are wrong, walkthrus are really helpful in many cases, so long as you use them properly. Following out of date walkthrus verbatim, choice by choice is a really bad habit, but playing the games, and referring to walkthrus when you encounter problems, can be a real lifesaver but again, using them as a reference guide to look up things, I've found makes them work great, even with this game.

I had my share of issues too, but one quick readup, and i found where i went wrong and was able to go on every time.

...you are not commonly playing RPG games I take? Or at least old school ones.
Raising your stats first and as fast as possible is a common strategy, and it's easy enough here.
A walkthrough is only useful if you either don't pay attention to the game, are unwilling to reload or restart to optimize your playstyle or are actually stuck without much help on the ingame part.
In regards to the sisters there have been warnings about this in the thread aplenty, and even the game warns you that this is an inversible decision that could fail horible.

There are not too many games that have stat checks, and if you don't pass one randomly thrown in the middle of the game you have unchangeable effects on the story. What old school games has events that has hard checks on random stats you can raise? Fallout has some, but even those make sense. You want to convince someone to do something? Have more speech. In this game its, you want to convince someone of something? Better have enough agility to catch them when they run away from you.

And yes, I don't want to have to replay the same game over and over to try figuring out which choice was the one that actually affected the outcome of an event. And I don't like that because I choose to raise say, courage first the game tells you 15 days later that it was the wrong call and you really should have been talking to someone else instead because now you fail another check, and you need to randomly have a save from 15 days ago to fix it unless you want to restart.

All this being said doesnt change the fact that the guide that is posted and stickied in the OP leads you to failing events and missing scenes right now.

*Edit* Oh, and all those old school games have guides written on how to play the game most efficiently

I for one enjoy the exploration in the game in general and the exploration of the mystery of all the main women's secrets. (Particularly Evelyn's entire mystery because she is my favorite and will always deserve to get semen in her vagina as soon as possible and every afternoon and night but i digress.) Walkthroughs for this game in my opinion diminish that enjoyment of discovering things. You can never find everything in one playthrough because there are different paths to take for each women. When ever Belle says anything in the game always read fully and comprehend everything she says and she will never steer you wrong.

Edit because i thought of something. I sure would love to wake up to Evelyn riding me every morning to get rid of the mourning wood. :D

Every Pen and Paper game I know.

They don't, since the game master can just define the game and checks as needed... it's easier to take prepared sheets... but less fun aswell.
Also don't forget that ultimately there will be a timelimit and a New Game+ that allows to carry stat gained over to the new game.
The game by design can't be completed in a single playthrough, so useing a guide with that intent will eventually fail you.
And if I want to play a game following a guide I could simply switch to a VN with no restrictions (which I personally consider boring as hell)

That’s a pretty good way to look at this game: less a VN or VRPG, more like a pencil ‘n’ paper RPG that doesn’t need dice. On a screen.

Yes actually it does, if you actually pay attention and read the dialog.

I just like to know about all the available content in my porn games tbh. I've taken to just extracting images to see exactly what I can and can't get, what I've missed etc. at this point.

So this thread totally didn't go to shit.

But yeah I agree. No walkthrough is best playthrough. Everything that is expected of you and its consequences along with where you might wanna go or do(hehe) next is explicitly given in the dialogue. Following any sort of walkthrough for this game ruins it. There are games that need or warrant a walkthrough but this one isn't one of those.

Play the game while paying attention to the dialogue rather than a guide and think of the characters as people instead of stat points and you'll be good. There are plenty of other games that give you a paper thin plot as an excuse for looking at renders or getting to the action. I'm glad Belle isn't one of those(yet at least). It's nice to have a game that's a bit more mature compared to others in that regard.

Belle I expect the rise in the walkthrough folk is a result of being featured on the main page. I hope you don't intend to change your game design due to this? I appreciate what you have here so dumbing it down would kill the vibe for me personally at least.

I don't intend to change the game's design, but I'm not blind to some of the most common pitfalls. The biggest thing that I know needs tweaking is the Perversity ability. A lot of players struggle to figure out how to even begin raising that ability, so that's a clear sign that the game doesn't guide the player properly in that area. I haven't figured out how to solve that problem, but I'll get around to it.

Other things, like the clues provided by the gallery in the latest version, are also added as a result of seeing what players struggle with.

I don't intend to dumb down anything, but the game should flow properly and provide everything the player needs to decide where to focus their attention next. There is room for improvement here, but apart from Perversity, it's nothing major.

Her two sex scenes are mutually exclusive. If you’ve signed up to be her boyfriend, you get vaginal sex, if you’re her FWB, you get anal. Not both.
Anyone knows which variable to change to go from boyfriend to FWB ?

No there is no updated walkthrough, and if you suggest it people will shit on you for wanting one.

You cannot use the walkthrough posted in the OP, it will lead you to down the wrong path choices and you will miss skill checks. But don't bring that up, people hate it on this game post for some reason.
