It's way too early for anything concrete, but I'm imagining something between 1/3 to 1/2 of the VN episodes. For the record, when I say episodes here, I'm not talking about them in the way most devs here do with one episode per update. There could be multiple episodes in one update or even none.
It's in the wilderness map. The Mandrake root icon is in the clearing between the Kingswood and the Ancient Forest. It took me awhile to fine it too.

Well the dev is active in this thread, and he's already started planning his next game and getting feedback from his plans, so I was hoping at the very least he could throw out a rough estimate cuz it looks like he's trying to wrap it up.

Since we're past the point where I need to keep secrets about the main story, I might as well answer:
after the first Playtrough at the point where Marek apears, he explains that or at least is that what I understood when reaching that part of the game (Endgame) as well if I remeber well Litlith wonders about his structured mind in one of the early chapters (or at the beginning with her training)
Keep in mind that release dates are no longer set and that I release the updates when they're done. Not before nor after. I don't know if the update will be out this month, but it could well be.
