Oh boy, this post is going to get long...
but the story of primrose, it was just...bad?
I'm sorry you felt that way, but I'm honestly not surprised to see that kind of opinion pop up about Primrose and how I've written her. I expected her to be kind of controversial, and I guess you are proof that I was right. This update didn't feature anywhere near the entirety of Primrose's content. We're just beginning. What was here will serve as a framework for future expansion. Rest assured that there is more story to be told and a stronger connection to the main story than might be apparent at first. Having said that, not all girls in this game will be directly relevant to the overall plot.
As for Primrose's personality, she was definitely the hardest of the current girls to write. There is a particular kind of thing I'm going for here (and I don't want to be too specific about what it is yet), and I'm not entirely satisfied that I did it well. It's one of those things I'll be improving and adjusting in the months to come, I suppose.
Is it possible to go train with the Crone after getting the initial spells from her? The story says to use both spells and then return for training, but I don't see an option to do so later. Is that not in yet or am I blind?
It's not in yet. I plan to expand the Crone's content in 0.3, so you should see the first steps of your training then.
This update was my first play through of this game and really enjoyed it liked the look and writing. Looking forward to seeing how this one goes also from now on when I play The Witcher 3 im going to pretend Belle is my companion
Heh, I think Belle would have liked Geralt.
So I've returned the books from Primrose's father and started molesting her in her sleep, as well as reading all the books I've returned. Is there anything else to do, or have I reached the end of 0.20?
That's the end of Primrose's current content, yes. You bring up an interesting point though. Would you have preferred if I printed a message on the screen to inform you that you've reached the end of a character's content in the current version of the game, or should I keep it like it is now?
I think I made everything in the update (at least I got every picture, I might have lost a clue like last time, but I don't think so), there wasn't anything really very sexual in it, and since it's the beggining it's fine in my book, it was building up for the next updates and we even got the first character improvement points (even though we can't do anything with them yet I think).
I'm not happy that there is so little lewd content in this update, to be honest. Ultimately, this game's primary focus will be porn. To release an update with so little fap-worthy material feels counterproductive in a way, but I can't get around the fact that I need to set up a foundation before we can get to the good stuff.
I'm making it a priority to include at least one actual sex scene in 0.3 though, so there's that. I suspect most of you will be pleased when you find out who it is with.
With the change making "Previous choices locked" to me is kind of a game breaker. I just chose an answer by clicking to quickly and I am stuck with the consequences. To be honest, I just exited the game and played something else rather than starting over again... :idontcare:
I'm truly sorry about that. There are so many different opinions about systems like these, and no matter what I go with, someone is going to be disappointed or even upset. Ultimately, I had to go with a system that stays true to myself and what I want to make. I know how I play other Ren'py games with rollback. I try one dialogue choice, see how it goes, rollback and try another, and then go back again and pick the one I liked the results best for. All the while I hate myself for it because good choices are about what leads up to a decision, not about what you may know about what happens after. I made the rollback work the way it does to keep players like myself from ruining the experience for themselves. The backside is just what you describe: A misclick can have dire consequences. But isn't that true of just about any game anyway?
