Assets get positioned and combined into scenes. Scenes get rendered into images or movie files. Only the latter gets stuffed into the ren'py runtime along with texts (which we execute and then call 'the game'). This process cannot be inverted mathematically speaking.
With the Unreal Engine for example it would be a completely different animal and what you said potentially possible.

Since I'm pretty much starting from scratch and this is a fuck-around project anyway, what would you guys think if I finished this damned VN using Honey Select 2?
It would be like The Wizard of Oz where the tornado lifts the school and all the characters into a place that definitely isn't Kansas anymore.
And anticipating the next question: No, I'm not going to go back and redo the first half of the game.
Since I'm pretty much starting from scratch and this is a fuck-around project anyway, what would you guys think if I finished this damned VN using Honey Select 2?

i think you'd have to tie it to the divine bunny or otherwise to getaway with it. but maybe, i'd say fuck around with some character models and post some previews of how the characters and stuff would look IF you went that path. that way we could give it a good compare and contrast to improve either the one that gets chosen in the end.

Ah, I'm just frustrated about losing 20 hours of work on the update because of my own stupidity. Luckily for me I don't normally make the same mistakes twice.
Yes, this is a fuck-around project. I'm throwing shit against the wall to see what sticks. That's exactly why it's fun. Imagine the outrage some people would feel if I did change the art midgame. I've always been one to go where the angels fear to tread. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. I'll have to see what's available on the Honey Select 2 Libido file that I'm downloading right now from F95 before I make up my mind.

I’d say post some previews of at least a few characters in honey select. Then people could have a better idea if it would be good to switch.

Well.. what did we (at least some of us) say earlier when you showed us that one-off teaser shot in HS2?... that it looked good and it wouldnt be bad thing to switch. So...with the situation as it is.. i say go for it.

It might have been a failed download. Which one didn’t work? Maybe try downloading it again. Make sure it finishes then see if it unzips.
I had the same problem. For me it was the Nopy link. I tried a different one and it was fine.
