I've been playing it for the first time, and it's been kind of a bittersweet experience, knowing the state of its "abandonment". There's just so much that feels like it's going to be left unfinished. The aunt and her you-know-who. The neighbor and her daughter. The therapist. A few of the students. It seems like there was a good amount of content left to go. So unless the dev drops a HUGE update with 1.0, it'll always have that "what could have been" feeling about it.
Personally I'd be fine with the characters that have virtually no content anyway just having the work-in-progress status dropped if it meant the more in-depth ones would actually get finished. Still working on Linda, Caroline, Sara, and Celia's paths, but have hit the end with pretty much everyone else as far as I know. Hopefully I won't run out of content *too* quickly. This game set a bar of high quality, imho.

That's such a shame. It wouldn't be as bad if the works were mediocre. But with when it's top shelf stuff that gets dropped the disappointment stings =(

He doesn't produce results and tells everyone he is working on his games so ppl stay subscribed to him so he has income. Dudes a thief. Look when the last update was. That should tell you enough.
People think massively supporting ICSTOR will make the game progress faster. The opposite is actually true. Free money leads to laziness.
Nobody minds that he treats himself to something with the money and takes a break. But to start new projects without finishing the first one. That I do not understand. But it is widespread.

I think this applies to almost every creator of a popular AVN.
The majority of popular AVNs are at semiannual updates meanwhile they pull in enough money to fund an entire studio for a year off of 3 months of income.
On top of that, the patreon funding model doesnt incentivize actually finishing a project at all. Dragging your feet extends the length of time you can collect sub funds from patrons.
Braid, an indie classic, took 3 years of development by one person. Some of these VNs have been running longer than that and 85% of their work is just posing pre-rendered 3D assets. Cant make it make sense.
ICSTOR is just blatant in the damns he doesnt have to give.
Everyone complaining... have you guys tried to start your own projects? Im sure many ppl here have free time and clearly there is unmet demand. No one here is unemployed or unhappy with their current job?
Im busy with my own business/site that started off as a hobby and excuse to learn (as I am suggestion in this post). It took longer than planned, was a ton of work, had many moments where I wasn't sure if I was just wasting time, etc... Although it will (hopefully) never be finished, I went public several months ago and have had amazing success (Just went over 10k/month from subscribers). If I wasn't busy with that, this would be a super fun project and great excuse to learn something new. Think about the downside (you learn something new) and the upside (you learn something new, do something you enjoy, and end up having financial freedom without being tied to a specific job or city since the work can be done from anywhere).
What are the biggest issues? The code is not difficult. I think the animation/art is the main issue? Does anyone know what program was used to create the animations/characters? I actually may start this as a side project for fun. There are many stock illustration sites which could help get us started. I just haven't been able to find one with x rated content or characters.
I could do everything other than make the actual animations/drawings. I could hire someone to make the animations/illustrations. It would be helpful if I had a bit of input/tips on where to find stock character illustrations that are for an adult audience. I looked at a couple of the biggest sites for that including shutterstock/istock and had no luck. Any ideas on that? I'll do the coding and pay an artist to modify/make the animations. I'm sure a ton of $$ could be made and worst case it will be a fun hobby.

It's all well and good to attempt to defend someone but IC's behaviour as of Milfy City 0.6e has been nothing but contemptible.
The time delay between 0.6e and 1.0 (he's skipping all releases in between) is OVER A YEAR WITH ONLY TOKEN COMMUNICATIONS at this point. He's had time in between the two breaks he's taken and his frighteningly short period of burnout.
Anyone who works is entitled to breaks. How does a break while not doing anything suit you?
Most of the people here that ARE being hard on him know he could do better if he tried. And therein lies the problem.
Have you paid attention to IC's history with game development? He makes good stuff - until he's past the 0.5 mark and suspiciously loses interest soon after and only sticks with it to make a rushed finish.
We're not being arseholes just for the sake of being arseholes. ICSTOR constantly touts new and exciting projects.
He teased Milfy Kingdom (AKA Project X) some time ago - and subsequently put it on hold while he finished up Milfy City. And this endgame part of MC hasn't materialised yet.
