I would be surprised if the game gets modded at all, beside your usual walkthrough mods and shit. The game obviously was never meant to be moddable in mind and the rigid structure of the story, characters and events meant it will be a very daunting task to do so. You would need the original DAZ characters and their environments, as well as match the current renders quality, tone colors and methods, etc...
If i had to bet on it, there is a possibility of some people remaking the game on their own, similarly to how Big Brother spawned a few fans projects over the years. (Although if we are honest, none of them seem to be really greater than the original, which was already mild to begin with).

Then ICSTOR came out pretty much I think it was that night or the day after saying starting July 14th, there will be bi-weekly updates (like what NLT does) starting with 0.71b and working up to 1.0.
Don't know how far back his post is but it's been copied a few times since. Maybe go back within the last 20-30 pages and you'll see it.
