You are a fan of Evangelion, you should already know it very well, someone can be a complaining fag shit and still save the day, that is, get ahead without making so many excuses ... what I mean, is that if Icstor were the one In charge of piloting the EVA 01, we would all be dead by now.

He's not depressed, if he was depressed he wouldn't write a Patreon post about starting a NEW game and admitting he's just an "ideas man" who only likes doing renders. The fact is he got gassed out. He has also been making games back to back non-stop without a break and when he felt he got to the pinnacle of Milfy City (the Linda update) he took what he thought was a much needed break, "depression" was just the tag line.

Now that he has taken his break, he's done with Milfy City...trust me, as a developer and a creative person in general, if you do not continue the momentum of your work you can lose perspective on what made it great in the first place (a la the Caroline update which was weak compared to the rest of the game). In his mind he is done with the game but in reality he has a long way to go and he doesn't want to finish the game being a shadow of its former self.

Sometimes taking a break is good when you have writers block...but he's not a writer...he has a team for that...he just does renders and animations.

I also think he's super sensitive, he doesn't like it when he gets hate. He's mentioned that a few times on Discord, he likes being appreciated. I feel taking that break really ruined his rep, not because he wanted a break, but because of the false pretenses behind it (being depressed and stories not matching up) he has been caught multiple times lying red handed and therefore has created trust issues between himself and his supporters.

Now he's in the head space of "Do I really want to finish this game for these assholes who have been insulting me?". Well his "porn game career" is on the line, since if he doesn't complete the game he will not have the same support he once had if he decides to abandon it. It would be in his best interests to finish it, if he were really depressed and if this "job" is causing him that depression, he would have hung his gloves up a long time ago and looked after his health first. Clearly he wants to do this but he's just lost his motivation and inspiration, I think he also realizes how technically limited his abilities in animation are too. He's good at the art work but his animations are stiff and he could also be super critical of his own work which is contributing to his said "depression".

PS. What ever happened to just being upset? I feel like people misuse "depression" too much to get sympathy out of others.

Ocean is setting the bar very high and what he is doing in an update:

Ch.3 - Beta
- ~1800 new still renders added
- ~ 10000 renders in animation frames added.
- Completely new Intro with the reworked Summer model.
- School scene with Summer also reworked.
- Nojiko's skin got replaced by much more high quality. (Still needs to be replaced in some earlier scenes.)
- Visual tweaks for Nadia, Ayua, Mila, Nami, and Victoria

He is pushing other Dev's, like ICSTOR, into the second tier, especially when those other Dev's seem interested in talking about their VN instead of actually doing the work to update it.

Think just how good this last update was and... he's adding great music and even more stunning animations.

I'd love updates every 3 months, for example, but if I have to wait 5-6 months to get this level of quality, I will.

Summer's Gone is so good it is worth it!

Well I'm not saying I believe anything he says, if you guys want to talk about his work and delay, then talk about it. Just don't talk about something serious like depression. Doesn't concern us if he have it or not.
And It's not like I'm here all the time, I just come time by time to check if the update is ready or not, so I'm just saying what I think. If you guys know about his personal life or whatever, then you know what are you talking about. I'm just saying what I think it's fair.

- I have finished school.
- I have finished 1 year of college, half way through my second year.
- I have applied to a university and got accepted.
- I got a new PC.

and many more things.

I've done more things in one month than this clown of a developer has done in one year. I'm genuinely surprised this shit hasn't been put on hold or cancelled yet.

I'm not saying anything bad about people that support him because they can do as they please...I myself just find it unbelievable that he still has over 6,000 patrons at this point considering he hasn't released an update in over a year, and if I am correct it was about that long of a wait before the last update.

First of all, really well said, I agree with every single word. But just like I said, I'm not a fan or anything, I just come time by time to see what's going on, so I don't know his personal life, other projects or whatever. I just think if he have a depression, which I don't really know if it's true (I'm just assuming by what I read here), then I don't think it's right to judge him by that, you know?
If the work is delayed, then let's keep the thinking about that, not his personal life. By the way, this is just my opinion, anyone can say anything about it.

Let's say that we can agree that depression is a very serious thing and can lead to tragic things if not treated. Also, you definitely should not minimize it. Also, I am inclined to believe developers who have proven to be reliable when they run into technical problems, or have some death in the family and such and thus they have to delay one or the other release date.

However, in Icstor's case there were multiple delays with "my dog ate my homework" excuses and all of a sudden "he has depression". You really can get the impression that this is just another BS excuse.

Exactly, and if he really is depressed and not work on it he should grow a conscience and pause his patron. I treat everything he says now as a lie.
