I loved the presentation of the VN but couldn't keep playing after these dialogues. Seems like the dev is one of those rightwing chuds who cries about "forced diversity".

Poor thing. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. But if it changes anything, I have a little censored patch coming for people who can't handle it.

But you gotta love the whole right wing spiel some people are coming up with for cracking jokes. What part of any of that is right wing? Not to go wildly off topic here, but the first one is a joke, and the second one was common sense despite the media pretty blatantly lying about it. Just because you disagree doesn't make me some Trump-loving far right extremist.

wats up with this yuna person is she gonna die cuz shes not listed in the harem or important people is she just a background character to give mc more back story can u answer that dev and ty for the game really enjoying it so far
The staff who moved the thread (not blaming him/her) didn't copy the whole thing from the dev thread they took it from. The girls on the banner (and Sky) are LIs.

I wish we had more control in that scene, and tell Renee to get the fuck outta there, if she's not a LI, then i don't want her touching my girls, simple as that. If you plan to do anymore scenes like that, you should at the very least make it avoidable.
Dev admitted he could have added a fuck off option for Renee :HideThePain:

Are you guys serious? There have been a few over the years. Even though I'm not white, there have been a few great CBs that were white. I'll name one: Anthony Cioffi. You guys can do your own research for more if you want. As for the reason white CBs aren't more prevalent in college or the pros is up to debate. Whites are capable, hell, even when I was in HS, we had a white CB, we were even undefeated with him, then the new coach decided to switch him to safety in favor of a black guy and we lost the rest of the season.
i was joking idk about the other guy

I'm in the same boat. I wrote a review for the game this morning, but all the cancel-culture, social-media aspects of the story are dumb as hell and fit in with the rest of it like a fart in an elevator. It's weird enough that I've been thinking about it since last night.

What gets me is that it all comes hand in hand with some great character work. Ivy in particular is a surprisingly empathetic portrayal of a trans woman, and the scene with Yuna's dad is touching. Both their scenes are way better done than they had to be, considering that they're both there as porn justification. All the friendships hit, the dialogue's good, and the MC visibly has a number of serious character flaws that he tries to counteract with incredible warmth and generosity towards his loved ones.

All the cancel culture stuff falls absolutely flat, though, especially when you find out what it was that the MC actually did and why.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

More crucially, the MC being "canceled" doesn't matter at all, except for when it gives the characters/author an excuse to rant about it. For a "canceled" guy, the MC is still given an astonishing amount of money, trust, licensing deals, real estate, and consumer goods right off the hop the second he gets to Texas. It's like that political cartoon about the guy ranting about how he's been canceled on TV, then to a large audience, and then in a best-selling book, but Move the Chains seems to be absolutely serious.
I like the whole presentation of the VN and especially the characters. There were a few dialogues earlier that indicated that the dev's views, but I ignored them because they weren't as explicit and I thought they were trying to be ironic.

And yeah, the whole "cancel culture" bs is extremely dumb and actively hurts an overall good story because it does not make sense unless you have a very warped worldview.

He did the deed in self defense and the evidence shows that but parts social media is still running with the old story, and some of them are real loud.
That's a part of it. "Court of public opinion" does cross over into cancel culture.
I suppose we're arguing over a hazy, shifting definition, but generally, the point at which it becomes "cancel culture" is where the targeted person is ostracized, deplatformed, and/or suffers significant, immediate career damage. I'm thinking here of, say, Louis CK or Kevin Spacey.

The MC hasn't suffered anything of the sort, and has run into, what, two people who aren't immediately on his side? If he'd lost all his friends in his hometown, or if the incident had cost him all his most high-profile offers so he had to go with this Texas shithole as his last resort, that'd be closer to cancel culture. If the only consequence he's suffered is that people are shit-talking him on this universe's equivalent to shitlib Twitter, which he doesn't look at himself, that effectively isn't a consequence at all.

As it is, the MC should be controversial, at least in the sorts of circles that care way too much about college football. From the outside, it would look a hell of a lot like the NCAA might've arranged for the MC to conveniently beat a manslaughter charge, and it's not like that'd be a bridge too far in a post-Penn State world.

I can't really account for every panel out there. Both of mine are IPS and darker images appear bright enough to see, which is all I can really judge from.

Glad you enjoyed it. Or most of it, at least. :)
