I sure hope so. The scene where mom ("Mum") refers to whatever country the game takes place in as having a different culture than Canada was immersion-breaking for me. Canada is closer to England, historically, than the U.S., but being right next to the U.S. it shares most of the same culture as the U.S., if the game takes place in the U.S. And if the game takes place in the U.K. (which is my guess, as "Mum" is an English term, not an American one), Canada is still very similar culturally.

The choice for Kat's home would be much better if it were Aussie or Kiwi. Both native English-speaking but culturally distinct from the U.S. or U.K. Ireland is an even better choice. She could also be from damn near any Commonwealth country, or even India. Any ex-British colony where English is either the primary or second language. Hell, she could also be from South Africa. Plenty of white folk there who speak English. Or Israel.

I wish I did. There are lots of very interesting people here, and some great accents. I once had a huge crush on a teacher of mine because of her accent. She was pretty too. I hate 'Lad' culture though. Drinking and one-night stands are all everyone thinks about here. As someone who partakes in neither, I don't really fit in.

Happens anywhere. 3 of my best online friends are Brits. 2 are Londoners and the 3rd lives in Hull. All are pretty cool guys. Known them for about 17 years now. One works for the BBC and the other travels due to his job. All 3 are pretty stable and aren't millenial douchebags.
