To be fair, they're not the most likable characters when introduced. But they change so much. Fiona became one of my favourite characters when we have the "confession" in her office. And Elaine flips personality the moment the MC gets his shit together and shuts her bullshit down.I think most people don't really hate her that much anymore. I remember some people also didn't like Fiona for a while.
Ahh, the completion of the "trio of bitches->sweethearts". Love route Tanja canon Tanja. The only girl that Killer7 made me hate was Tanja, but now I actually like her.
Yeah 1 star reviews are hardly worth reading. A lot of the 5 star reviews aren't either though, at least as a prospective player. The most important info for me is the critique/negative points listed in the 3-4 star reviews, if I need more info beyond the number of stars. Might be different as the dev of course. Reading nice things people write can be encouraging and motivating I imagine.I know what you mean. Sadly, one star reviews rarely help you with improving some aspects that people might not like, they seem to just exist to shit on the game and/or the dev ( which is very obvious the case in my game especially ^^ )
The other thing is even when criticism is warranted and/or constructive a lot of people don't seem to understand that this doesn't mean the things can be implemented. Workflows aren't easily change, skills aren't easily acquired and there's only so much dev time to go around. Or there just might be no interest to take it in a specific direction.I don't mind low star ratings in general but the sad reality is that you almost never get constructive criticism out of them. It's just "This game is shit, the writing is shit and the dev is shit for making this game." which usually doesn't help anyone in the long run. That is usually the tl;dr of one star reviews and I tend to just hit ignore on the user after I read them purely because anything he or she might say will never help me improve as a dev. Especially when said person likes all the other one star reviews and has a general tendency to rate every game on this site low.
Sadly that's what a lot of the 1 star reviews, or salty "discussions" in a game's thread, come down to. Petty "revenge". It's like they acknowledge the skills of the dev but get offended they aren't catered to which imho is a fat case of: The lion, the witch ...Oh? I thought I was the only one getting those it usually is someone that pledged for my highest tier and then demanded for his character ( when I still had that option ) to be fucked by other dudes. When I said no they asked for a refund and said they will badmouth me as a dev for not keeping a promise. Also had my fair share of insulting dms or death threats over the years.
This is a global problem: not only a toxic community, but also the just banal cybercrime - they turn to developers, for example, with a proposal to advertise and promote the game for money, in case of refusal - a bombing review, the distribution of fake demos of the game "charged" with trojans, the use of troll bots for spam and harassment, in addition to bots,Oh? I thought I was the only one getting those <<skipped>>
I really don't care if a VN has animations or not if I like the rest. You mentioned Sisterly Lust and Parental Love lets say visually they are a bit lacking especially SL because it doesn't have animations but both of them are among my favorite AVN of all time.
Story and characters are the most important thing. One of my favorite games, even though it centers around incest, has some "different" looking characters but the writing is so top notch, that it made me fall in love with these "odd-looking" characters. That game is Light of My Life.I really don't care if a VN has animations or not if I like the rest.
Milfy City was my first "AVN" it has animations and is still a great disappointment to me.
The point I'm trying to make is that animations are not the most important thing.
PS: PL ---> Elly is best girl.
I tried that recently. The writing is good in that one but it was too sad for my liking.Story and characters are the most important thing. Probably it helps the toilet-paper manufacturers, but that's a whole different thing....It's just "This game is shit, the writing is shit and the dev is shit for making this game." which usually doesn't help anyone in the long run.
While it is true that it has some sadness in it, it also has a lot of joy mixed in also. It is entirely unlike another dev who was kinda "being a dick" when he made me choose which of my girls to save from a house fire, which I noticed was lampooned by Killer7 in this game.I tried that recently. The writing is good in that one but it was too sad for my liking.
I do. When I want porn I go to pornhub.honestly writing is just passing for me in I mean it is a porn game who the hell stays for New York times best seller writing for game that ya what to see fucking
You would be surprised but the games that have a heavy plot are the reason I decided to make my own game. And I never played any visual novels before, the adult visual novels were my firsts. Since then I always put story before everything else.honestly writing is just passing for me in I mean it is a porn game who the hell stays for New York times best seller writing for game that ya what to see fucking
I skipped it for a completely different reason: when you approach a VN I don't think you can ignore the Visual part, and, no offense meant, but IMVHO some of the characters of LomL look just like they've been dragged out of a Tod Browning movie.I tried that recently. The writing is good in that one but it was too sad for my liking.
That's why I love MNF so much. It has both. Great writing and characters.I agree that story is important, but #1 for this kind of game is characters, if you ask me. If I fall in love with the girls, it's a lot easier to overlook other things. Characterization and story go hand in hand, but they are also separate things. You can write a great story where the plot is awesome, but the characters feel wooden, lifeless, and uninteresting. You can write amazing characters with a boring plot, and not much happening. I'll take the second of those two every time for a VN - adult oriented or otherwise. Of course having good for both is the best.
The visuals of that game are not for everyone. I agree on that but that's not why I deleted it again.I skipped it for a completely different reason: when you approach a VN I don't think you can ignore the Visual part, and, no offense meant, but IMVHO some of the characters of LomL look just like they've been dragged out of a Tod Browning movie.
I mean, after the first half hour I had to quit and sit down for a Lucy marathon just so my eyes could stop bleeding.....
Fuck that they need a lawn mowerSomeone needs to buy these girls some shaving cream...
