If MC kisses someone and you see it from third person view, they are usually french kissing. I used to make renders like that but I think they look too weird. Just a girl flicking her tongue into the camera, I guess. It's the same as 1st person scenes where the dude is licking the girl, it's just a floating tongue not really a fan of that.

Good to know I'm not the only one who thought the scenes with tongues seemed a little weird. I also thought that it was software-related, since we now know Killer7's standards. Apart from that, for weird moments we have the Weebs.

I think a lot of stuff I do just comes down to what I personally prefer. I know that some people don't like it when the characters have their eyes closed when they laugh - Be it in My New Family or in My New Memories ( where they put their hand in front of their mouth while laughing ). But since I prefer it like that I don't see a reason to change it.

The same goes for 1st person kisses. I sometimes use them in MNF, sometimes I use third person kisses. In My New Memories I will only use third person kisses which will probably annoy people that like 1st person kisses only . Can't make everyone happy!

I think it's fine, the 1st person kisses never did anything for me, but also never detracted from my experience with any game.
When it comes to things like that it's all up to the dev and the style they prefer, hard to find a reason to render something if you don't personally like it.
I don't think you're gonna get a lot of people in a blind rage about small stylistic choices in renders.

As for laughing with your eyes closed: I think that depends on how hard you laugh, and I'm pretty sure that happens to me from time to time when I laugh too hard - in addition to sore muscles in my face.

From my personal experience, I can say that when you tell a story you get better results if you can use your own inclinations and interests. Since I'm a fan of gothic horror, I always try to keep it that way: Is this ok for me or would this be too much for me as a player? Then there are humorous situations that I either plan in advance or on the fly because the situation exists. If in doubt, you can always discuss it in advance and in the case of VN, there are some people who put a warning at the beginning and make the scenes optional and summarize them or leave out the visual elements completely. Both approaches I welcome. Every now and then there are authors - both in the VN and in the pen & paper area - who spectacularly reach into the cesspool in various ways, but those are the people who then have to live with the backlash.

At the end of the day, I think the most important thing is that everyone involved had fun. Not everyone will like the final product, that's ok. But if you deliver controversial products only to be controversial or go this way for the money and / or because you do not think long enough about the direction then you should not be surprised about negative feedback.

In short: Not everything that glitters is gold and not everything is a chocolate mousse just because it has the right color.

just keep doing what you feel is right and not what everybody else wants you are the maker of the game not them (sorry for rant)

To be honest, what we think doesn't matter too much, it is YOUR game to make. In the end, if too many people don't like what you put in a game then it doesn't get played.
Since MNF (and now MNM) are both very popular, I'd say you are doing something right.

I know some people don't like hs, But with devs like you finding work arounds and new ways of using it, I believe it still has a good shelf life

Hello there you very wonderful and wholesome people in the world!

Another week, another month, another progress update!

As some of you may have noticed I was able to release beta 4 on the weekend. I'll do my best to release beta 5 this week which means that we're getting very close to the release of 0.20! So far work on this update has been going better than I thought.

For the last two days of 0.20 I plan a little "romantic" offensive from MC. It's about to get very, very corny again, with three girls in particular. One is blonde, the other is brunette and the last one is a ginger. Not going to spoil more, but I hope I can pull it off decent enough. Guess you will be the judges for that!

I also worked a lot more on My New Memories once beta 4 was released. I finished 3 of the 5 events that I planned for this day ( this does not include the morning and night events that always occur ). I was also able to make around 60 renders already for that day ( already rendered out ). It looks like there will be a beta for the first day sometimes this month, which will give me a good estimate on how long it will take to release the first part of Chapter 1. The first day will be full of events that finally will answer a lot of questions that the MC has. Like I said, I plan that this update will be as long as a regular My New Family update, even though it only contains three ingame days. Let's hope I can pull that off but so far it looks very promising! The renders you see in todays post are renders that I made over the last week. I hope you guys enjoy them!

A AAA++++++++ game, amazing character, ( except for Fiona, she's a bit too much, and Elaine, not sure weather to love her or hate her, still though, two pretty good characters, Sandra, not a single bad thing to say about that character, Lucy, is certainly one of THE best characters in the game, she may not know what emotions are like the others, because of the things that happened, but, out of all of them, she may act like a kid, but when she shows her true character, she's more grown up than, I honestly thought she would be, and the rest of the family, Becca, Mary, Maddie, Alice, all of them well made ), as for Yvonne, and Melissa, their stories aren't exactly what you'd call happy, and even though Yvonne is a bit, ( both looks wise and personality wise, can't stand her, ( doesn't mean I think she's poorly made ), I just can't stand her and, and the story, a truly amazing story.

They've already grown on me, lol, its just, well, let me just put it this way Tanya = ( excuse the language, is a scab infected, flea bitten, tick infested whore, and I couldn't give a rat's ass about that hag, ( not after her and her friends made fun of Lucy ), Elaine, the reason for both loving her and hating her is simple, on one hand she watched over the MC and the family, and on the other hand, for contacting the MC father, and did nothing other than watching over the family. Yvonne = ugly freak show, ( well, maybe not the ugliest, but certain somewhere on the ugly scale, which is why I didn't try to hug her, that's why I also refused to let her watch the MC, ( well, not entirely true, the reason was because she wanted to watch the MC and Sandra, and, lol, probably the others too, so I don't hate Yvonne for just one thing, just everything about her makes my skin crawl ), Melissa however, I actually like, its just that, my favorite character is Lucy, because not only is she well made, but her personal story, the way she acted at first, but when she became more open, she turned out to be more grown up than many of the grown ups in the game. .....But all in all, you can't really hate any of the characters, but when you find out about how Lucy, Yvonne and Melissa got treated by Tanya and her 'friends', how the fathers treated the women, it doesn't take much to hate people like that,, ( and btw, this is my 5th or 6th time playing it ), and I still love the game just as much as the first time I played it, and that says a lot about the people that created the game, the story, the characters, I mean, only a few games have literally got me tear up, smiling, laughing: WVM, Where The Heart Is, Dog Days Of Summer, Blooming Love, Our Red String, Good Girl Gone Bad, and that's just a few of them, all AAA++++++++ in my book.
