I'm not saying that all of the games have character growth, but to be honest, the ones that I have read do.Alright, I'm considering playing some more. Though, please answer me this first; Does the MC, at any point, introspect about what happened with Sollain? I think introspection is needed for character growth, to frame why he's doing what he's doing. What lessons he's learned from past mistakes. If he even thinks Sollain was a mistake, which I hope he does.
From what people in another thread have said, I suspect I need the mindset of watching an R rated "Ernest Goes to College". I'm not sure if I'm able to distance myself from the MC that much, to laugh at him.
I don't agree with "more often than not", the amount of AVN that had a wet-blanket MC at the start and end of it, is ridiculous. I love character growth in an AVN, most don't have it.
Character growth is about making bad choices and learning from them, the number of women he ends up boning isn't really a metric. So many MCs bone every woman and learn nothing.
There are games like the one with the insanely annoying character named Bobby that are meant for nothing more than fapping to, because the story SUCKS MOLDY MOOSECOCK!!!
It has been some time since I have played this game, so I cannot go into details, other than to say that I enjoyed the story.
The main character does grow a pair, and become a better person. (within the confines of it being a porn game)
I was so/so on the ending, but if I had played it differently, I might have enjoyed the ending more.
Play it, or not, that is up to you, but you really should not bad mouth games that you have not spent a reasonable amount of time on, because you may well have quit playing before the good stuff started to happen.
And since this is a game that was completed almost 4 years ago, your comments are not even something that can be construed as constructive, in any way.
This is an older game, so I suggest in such cases that you start reading some of the comments near the middle of the comments section, to get a better feel for the game.
The game was finished almost 4 years ago, so you can get a good feel of what kind of things have happened by reading comments.
In part of your comment you referred to reading the back cover of a book, well reading the comments in a visual novels thread is the exact same thing.
You learn a bit more about what is going on, and have a better idea if it is something you "might" enjoy.
If you base your ideas of a good story off of the beginning, you might be someone who thinks that Tom Clancy sucks as an author, because he is notorious for a slow build up and progression of the story, until events start to snowball down the mountain, over halfway through the book, and then things get exciting.
