While I certainly agree that the incest kink feels less served, as many other kinks, due to the lack of story if compared to other games, I would argue that thematically it is not "slapped on", since the original setting makes mom/sis to me way more likely than "random woman on daddy's side with another girl". I will grant though that the exploration of consequences and the fear of triggering them is also very low - explained in game with the magic mist, but I agree that it is less satisfying for me than it was in MotH or other games. But I will still argue that it is an incest game.
When I filter by `incest` tag and sort by `RATING` or `LIKES`, I would like the top results to have a good/kinky/pervy/in-depth/central incest theme and NOT just some connection to incest that's randomly strong/weak. In the aforementioned list, Mystwood Manor appears #219 by `RATING` and #82 by `LIKES` out of 1972 games. It absolutely doesn't qualify for those very high spots on the `incest` games list.

It strongly seems like incest was setup to appear central in the beginning to avoid losing MotH audience but then the kink was rapidly and dramatically dropped to a very marginal spot, comparable in importance to anal sex. This comparison is actually very relevant for the problem I'm trying to underline. Anal sex is barely present in Mystwood Manor and it's about as vanilla as it gets. Despite this the game appears in the top 10% when doing the same list as before except filtered by the `anal sex` tag. It's the same exact problem as with incest except in this case it's more tolerable because far fewer people look for porn games centered on anal sex vs those who look for games centered on incest (heck, incest games were critically important in floating F95 out of anonymity AFAIK).

As for your suggestion in the other thread (never mind that rumor has it tags are being reworked right now anyway) I would argue that there is no objective way to determine what "deep" ("kinky", "pervy") incest would be. The technical view of "just replacing dialogue Geraldine -> Mom" would cover MotH as well, where nothing different happens. The difference is that in MotH the game is clearly geared towards incest and in parts doesn't make much sense when changed to "Landlady & the Tenants" (a psychologist being taken aback by some consenting adults lusting after each other just because she is considerably older?). But that is difficult to grasp and different people will give different answers.
I acknowledged the difficulty from the very beginning which is why I think voting is a reasonably good approach for the new tag. I don't want to see the existing `incest` tag changed. At the very least it would be useful to people wanting to exclude from their searches games that have so much as a hint of incest.

Maybe `incest centric` would be a better name for the new tag. It seems like it would be easier to answer the question `Does the game revolve around incest as a central theme`? The answer would be a clear `No` for Mystwood Manor when the question is not answered pedantically.

When I filter by `incest`...

... answered pedantically.
First, MwM is only incest if the player uses an un-official patch. The creator did not make it as one of those games; how players choose to change the game is their prerogative.

Second, many creators are funded by Patrons. And the site most of them use to pledge, does not approve of incest. I'm guessing CREATORS do NOT want this updated tag, as that will just bring more questions and site-bans to games that get the tag, when they are not created as such games.

Think very hard about what you're asking for, and if it's in the best interest of the games you like, being free to continue.

However, that is not how the ratings work. All issues about ratings (braindead 5 star reviews for a tech demo because it just might become a game some day, people rating games 1 star for including NTR when clearly the name "Cuckold King" and the tag should have given a hint, ratings not being updated by the raters when the game moves on and dramatically changes quality which happens a lot in both directions) aside: there is ONE rating for overall quality of the game. Some people (thankfully) point out in their reviews what they think of different aspects (though usually not kink related, more graphics, gameplay, story as in "common" video games) but the final rating is overall. Similar to "likes". MwM isn't #82 of games concerning incest but #82 overall of games which happen to have incest. This way of filtering will never work, even with an added tag for "deep incest", the rankings will still be overall.

The question of tags being more specific, e. g. divided between "happens in the game one or two times" and "major theme of the game" or "happens to somebody" vs "happens to MC" or "central part" vs "optional part" (I think your suggestion would go well with the first approach), has been raised repeatedly and I would all be for it in general, however there are practical problems as well. But, as I said, rumor has it they are working on the system in general. No idea in what direction though.

I acknowledged the difficulty from the very beginning which is why I think voting is a reasonably good approach for the new tag. I don't want to see the existing `incest` tag changed. The second part is certainly true. However I doubt that voting on tags would work reliably at all. Given the quality of the majority of the ratings, the ubiquity of haters and fanboys in threads, and completely different opinions of what makes incest "real incest" (I think we wouldn't be too far apart regarding the last question but others certainly differ) I would guess that would lead to a randomizer. Probably correlated with overall game quality because I doubt that most would really differentiate between "I liked this game, so its tags must be well represented". I may be wrong though.

However, this is getting quite OT for this thread, maybe we better can the discussion here.

No, Faerin does not support this patch. So there’s no need for him.
Also: why? There’s an unofficial patch exactly for that already and you can use it on your own risk.
I dont like patches if dev didnt consider game to be about incest. Its more fun to play if intended story to be this way

Look, Dev.makes Incest game = Dev.get Banned from Patreon, Dev.opens Subscribestar acount,2/3 of the suporters don't follow, Dev. lives from his work, Dev. looks for a new Job to feed family, Updates got streched out ! and you will be one of the first who start complaining about, and suggesting to open a Patreon account !
So do me a favor, abduct the Patreon Ceo show him "Teletubies" till he agrees to change their rules
snarky answer ? maybe but after seeing how many of the Good games got crippled, the Devs were forced to rewrite their games etc.etc.
And on top if they release an I Patch some weirdo who disliked something random of the game, goes and reports it to Patreon =
Game Over !

ok, hope it is relly good. Loved the previous 2 games
I'm not at liberty to discuss what's going to be in the demo when it's released, but what I can say is this:
It'll have a little bit of this, that and the other. Some thingies, doohickeys, doodads and thing-a-ma-bobs. And even a whatchamacallit. So it's got all that going on which is nice. :ROFLMAO:

Is it too late in development to ask for some gizmos, dinguses and gubbins? Also female NPCs would be nice ;)

Has anyone else encountered this bug in the Denise story?
In the bar, during the HJ animation, the game will get stuck between two pieces of dialogue. It'll just keep repeating 2 lines forever and I can't seem to get past it

Did you increase the speed of the animation to max?

It's going to be one of two things causing that to happen:
  1. Too long of a game path. Try moving the game's folder to X:\Mystwood Manor v1.1.0
replace "X:" with the drive letter you're using. Ex: C:\Mystwood Manor v1.1.0
  2. If you're using an Nvidia, go into its Control Panel >> Manage 3d settings
    and disable V-Sync.
Try one or both suggestions to see if that fixes the problem.
I am having the same issue, even tried using the uploaded day 3 save and it just black screens at the end of the day again. Also on story mode (i do not want to play a hotel sim). I went step by step with all your directions and nothing works. This is the only AVN ive ever had an issue with and ive played alot. Only button i can click is Skip but nothing happens.
