Hmm, so good weapons are...
Clever Zweihander (slow but massive combo), Witch Blade (starter weapon, can be upgraded to a very nice level of power)...
Is there a wiki for this game?
Why does Bone-Shaving Distorted Sword get no love? Q_Q

Also, does anyone here know what enemies cause Ariadne to orgasm, and what are the Sluttiness, Nympho and Karma metrics? I definitely want to mess with those...
I accumulated a few dozen orgasms on the MC, but finding out which enemies did it was a bit of guesswork since sometimes they masturbated her without causing an orgasm, and sometimes I just played around and fought enemies that gave her creampies (which usually results in not giving her an orgasm) and after a while saw an increased orgasm bar.
Until you mentioned it, I didn't know those mechanics existed. I also want to know what the hell the "100" above your Ideas/Souls number is. I keep forgetting that it's there. I'm guessing the game will have multiple endings, based on whether your a virgin or not, similar to " ", although we're a ways from that ever happening.

Also, are costumes even implemented yet? I'd LOVE to give the protagonist a change of clothes, lmao.
As far as I know, they aren't. I've never come across them, anyway. I think that might be a mistranslation, because "Costumes" has two slots, and considering we can equip various things, I'm guessing those are meant to be Armor Slots, although Costumes could also give defense, it would certainly fit the erotic theme of the game.

I'd also love to know how to farm Power Rocks to upgrade some of my weapons.~ I definitely know how to farm Inspiration, but those are more difficult.

I think it's an enemy in the last area, I'm not 100% sure on that, but I think I used to farm them there, in an earlier version of the game. There might just be a limited amount of Tier 3 upgrade materials, too. If you want to try all "all the things", just save before using a couple of them and load when you want to test other "weapon paths".

Honestly a lot of the alternate weapons aren't that great. Most of them increase your Revenge Strike healing, which is certainly a great way to stay alive, and I usually have a RS Ring or two equipped, so swapping over to that weapon style might save me a Ring Slot, but I like dishing out a lot of damage at once. Although, I suppose if your healing an insane amount at once, it doesn't matter if fights take a bit longer than usual. I always like going a "glass canon" route though.

Most of the weapons and magick need a serious buff though. Spells take so long to cast and do so little damage, that using them as your main offense is almost suicide, since you can't move during cast. Magick also doesn't critical, and after testing the Luck stat, you can't "overcritical" with weapons, and even at 100% Critical Rate, there still seems to be a stat cap below that, because I still fail to crit with "max rate".

The wands have fancy attack animations, but can't attack in the air, and the light wand in particular is buggy in the way it attacks, so it's almost worthless. The fire wand isn't too bad, but even though the wands are listed as 1.2+ INT scaling weapons (upto 1.4), INT seems to have almost no impact on your attack damage. The same poor INT scaling also applies with the Wisdom Witch's Blade.

I think the weapons can be easily buffed by massively reducing the pause between animations. The spells are more complicated, though...

BTW, Augoeides, by "an enemy on the last area", you mean the rooftop, right?
After the laboratory, there's a chapel, I think. Then there are several areas within it.
It has... a minotaur, some plants (which either drop nothing when killed or cannot be killed), some inquisitors (characters who wield guns), some time stoppers, some female judges, and the bell user. At least, I think that's all. The inquisitors are both the golden gun wielder who forces you into a titjob, and the musket wielder who forces you into a normal blowjob.

As for your map, I think it's great! I mean, it's sure VERY incomplete, but I think if you just keep developing it on the same way you did so far, you'll have a good map once it's done. I just don't know how you're gonna make it big enough to fit all the areas, and on what directions are you going to expand the image file.
I also think you should probably add names to the icons. Like, by the side of the GUI at the top, you could add each of these icons you are drawing for items and important objects such as save points, and name each of them! This makes it easier to navigate the chart.

I don't know exactly, I was just spitballing, but if you can farm 3rd tier materials, White Cathedral would probably be the place to do it. Ultimately, it would probably be faster to just start a second save for the purposes of experimenting, although assuming you "can" get 3rd tier materials, the amount of experience you earn farming it would be good, and so far, saves seem to carry over to newer versions. At least, mine from v0.38 did, although I still decided to start over, and I'm glad I did, because otherwise I wouldn't have noticed the new area and the Boss. So if you don't mind starting the next update at like lv100+, could be a good investment?

I'm considering doing a loot table, but honestly, the mapping is starting to wear me out. I literally spent all day working on it, and I only got 2 more areas done, so I don't think I'll have the mental energy to keep digging into this game, for a while, anyway.

Thanks! That was just a sample, and I didn't add a "Map Key" yet. I just left the stuff laying around the map, where it's convenient for me to copy/paste, but all that standard map stuff is planned. I'll probably toss them in the upper left corner of the map, because as I map out the game, it's obvious that Night of Revenge has some height to it, well over the starting woodland village.

Adding names to the Save Points would be nice, but as I look at what I've done so far, that would kind of clutter the map up. Becides, I'm marking the "Save Rooms" by a distinct rose color, with a book icon inside of it, and people can teleport between them at will, so I don't think that will be too much of an issue. I'm open to more suggestions though. Better to add stuff in now, then after I finish the map, because I'd have to probably move things around.

I just don't know how you're gonna make it big enough to fit all the areas, and on what directions are you going to expand the image file.
I'm actually genuinely concerned about that. I didn't think I would hit the MS Paint limitations by doing a map this way, but at the moment, I'm just finishing up adding the Underground Parish, and my map pixel size is 5,000 x 3,000. The pixel limitations for MS Paint is somewhere around 12,000 x 12,000, so I'm almost halfway there, width-wise. Thankfully, at least 3 of the remaining areas go underneath others, and White Cathedral just kind of stacks ontop of itself, so hopefully everything will fall into place.

At this point, mapping the game is becoming an obsession though. When I started working on it earlier today, the clock said 3PM, but now it's 1AM and my butt hasn't left this chair since. Thankfully, at least a few hours of that time was me just creating new icons and deciding on colors. Also, if I decide to map out some other game again, at least all of the groundwork will be done, and I can just focus on the mapping part. I am making the map way too damn fancy though, considering this game is just a poorly recreated porn version of Symphony of the Night. At this rate, the game might update before I ever finish.

Suzune is the Iaido Swordswoman I assume? I'm too lazy to check right now. After you meet her in the Bridge Block, she appears in the Underground Parish, just before the elevator that you can't get to yet (directly across from the fire rod and the mimic guarding it, if I remember correctly).

The third time, I think she appears appears in Ragdum (the Nightless Town), just at the entrance, or something like that. I can't remember if she appeared anywhere after that, she's a new addition to the game, as far as I know, and I don't remember seeing her at the "end" of this version.

Yeah, we all have that same flowchart map, although it's a little bit outdated, but still good, considering the updates don't add much. The game isn't even half finished yet, so don't expect a ton of story and dialog. There's really only like one side quest in the game right now, and that's killing the Blacksmith.

As I have been rambling about the past couple days, I am currently mapping the game out, although I just had to start over from scratch, so it set me back a while. I spent all night creating a new map template from scratch, but I only finished the first Area so far. Although, now that I have a template with fonts and map icons that I like, things should progress much faster now. I wasn't planning on mapping out "event progress though, since I thought that was self-explanatory, but I'll add stuff like Suzune to the map, when I get to them.

What I got done so far, feedback would be appreciated (as in, are the colors hard to read, is the map too small/big, etc.)
The map looks excellent (reminds me of maps you would get in old Nintendo games). The only thing I would suggest is drop the 'ideas' locations and only list major things like weapons, books, events (such as the mimics that drop items), or perhaps the power stone/chunk/magic rock locations.
The only reason I suggest that is that you can end up bogging down a map with too much information.

Why does Bone-Shaving Distorted Sword get no love? Q_Q
For the same reason my Church Long sword gets no love. Everyone has their favorite. :)
The bone sword is a very nice weapon, but I like the long sword since it has a dual damage type physical/(light or dark).

<Snip>

The only monster I know of that drops items to upgrade your weapons is a Knight. I don't know the name of the monster, but it appears in the Pilgrimage area and the Lunar Church. It is a tall, fully armored, character with a 2handed weapon. It only drops items for a level 2 (I think) upgrade.
The level 3 upgrade items seem to be fairly limited, I have only found 3 or 4 of them, all in various locations in the final maps.

I sincerely applaud your dedication, mate. I hope the project does not wear you out (too much), because if you manage to complete that map, it will be glorious. (y)

The reason I didn't mention many weapons is mainly because I don't know them very well yet! xD I want to catch'em all, but this game is A LOT about exploration which, while I appreciate being in a game, I myself am not yet so good at. There's a lot of hard to find stuff in Night of Revenge, which is why I'll really personally appreciate having your map to play with. :p

So, I don't know how the hell I got "into" the forest originally, but you should be able to enter it through the "exit"? It's located in the Research Area (the "Prayer Room" teleport selection), at the very bottom. Just drop down the ladder from the save point to the lower floor, and follow it all the way left to here:
View attachment 920843

I don't think you need a lever or anything to enter that door, I came out of it originally, anyway. After going through there, you'll enter the "Backyard", which is pretty a short linear in-between stage, before you eventually reach "The Canyon of Sinking", which is the forest I mentioned.
View attachment 920844
Is there no direct teleport to this forest, btw? I'm really interested on it now lmao

There is a save point in the forest, which is actually called "The Canyon of Sinking". I answered most of the stuff about that in a later post, as I was initially wrong about how to enter the Canyon. The main entrance comes right after you defeat the Spider Boss in the Abandoned Layer, the other entrance is through the Remniscats or whatever, after you beat the "fallen paladin?" Boss.

Right now, I'm finishing up mapping the Underground Holy Church. I'm pretty much on my way to the upper most floor of it, to map that out and fight the Inquisitor hoe. Despite having a full template of icons and colors now, mapping is actually taking longer, because starting at the Underground Parish, a lot of the areas loop around into themselves.

I lost a lot of time today, because right after you beat the "Church Beast", there's a hole in the floor that drops you down into the Underground Holy Church, and apparently my mapping of the Underground Parish didn't align up well with an Elevator after the fall through the floor, by a few screens, and later when I swooped back around to the elevator on the way to the Inquisitor, my map was off by another 3 screens. So that sucked. Everything is started to click into place better, but the second the game loops back into itself again, it's going to get frustrating.

I'll post what I have so far, when I finish up the Underground Holy Church; maybe in like half hour or so. Although, not sure how much use it will be to you, as I've only mapped about one third of the game, so far.

Not sure if I ever fought the spider boss... I mean, if they must be fought in order to advance to the Gallery, then I definitely did, but I don't quite remember it! Is there a boss at this whole Jungle area that contains the forest?

Oh, and don't worry! Even if you post only an incomplete version of the map, I plan on using it to acquire as many items I missed as I possibly can.

For example, the girl who has the instakill Iaido sword... do you know where her fourth appearance might be, if there even is one? It seems like that Iaido sword is obtainable by talking to her enough times. I'd also like to know where to do that side-quest the game supposedly has.

And of course, I haven't yet figured out how to grab the item I need to upgrade items to the third level... I do totally have my Witch Blade on max level, though, but it seems to me like it will only be possible for me to find use in other weapons once they too are all max level, lmao. Every single other weapon I have right now is inferior to the Witch Blade to some extent.

I don't think she has a fourth appearance. I never found her a fourth time when I last beat the game anyway, and I was pretty thorough. I don't think she gives you her sword. However, I do know where a weapon like her sword is. There's a Katana in the Nightless Town, along the bottom left corner somewhere, I think near the end of the map. I am about to map that area, but that might take a couple hours, so my current map won't display that. From what I remember, it's a decent weapon; it attacks hella fast with little delay, so it's probably a good endgame weapon, but I'm all about the Bone Sword, baby.

And of course, I haven't yet figured out how to grab the item I need to upgrade items to the third level... Well, the Witch's Blade swings pretty quick, but it hits pretty weakly, compared to a lot of other stuff, but it looks like that's all you got. Remember that you can use Flame Coatings, they usually add another +30 Fire Damage, or so. I spam them on Boss, and against the Holy Knights in the later stages.

Not sure if I ever fought the spider boss... I mean, if they must be fought in order to advance to the Gallery, then I definitely did, but I don't quite remember it! Is there a boss at this whole Jungle area that contains the forest?
The spider boss is in the Abandoned Lower Layer, which I think is underneath the Nightless Town. There's actually two paths to exit the Abandoned Lower Layer, so I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it, as I almost did this time around. When you get to the second Save Point in the Abandoned Lower Layer, you have the option to go up (which takes you to a door leading into Remniscat Forest) or go immediately to the right, which takes into to the Spider Boss, who is actually a bit hard.

After beating the Spider Boss, there's a ledge to the upper right you can jump to. Grabbing onto that takes you to an even lower area, which eventually drops you out into the Canyon of Sinking, with the only Save Point for that area right at it's entrance. The Ring of Haste is in the Canyon, and it's definitely worth the detour to get. It increases your Attack Speed by "one rating", so if your Witch's Blade was "Attack Speed B" it might become "Attack Speed B+" or "Attack Speed A", whatever the progression of this game is (I know there's a B- and C-, I don't know about B+ and C+ though).

The Canyon doesn't have a Boss, at the moment. It's just a side trip for some extra items. There might be a 3rd material item there, I remember there was some Latent Stone stuffs there, anyway. I think the end of the canyon winds back into the Fallen Paladin Boss, in Remniscat Forest, so I guess you could say he's also the Canyon Boss?

Oh, and don't worry! Even if you post only an incomplete version of the map, I plan on using it to acquire as many items I missed as I possibly can.
This is what I have so far.

Thanks! I've saved some screenshots of your reply so I can try all of this in the game... now... how often does this game update? I feel like I'll go through all of its currently available content within a week or less. :p

I go through all of the content in a day, lol. I play a lot of Metroidvania's though, so I'm used to bouncing around large 2D maps.

I'm not sure how often Night of Revenge updates, but considering I missed 4 updates in the past half year, I'd say the game updates once every month or 2 months. It's probably once a month, with some delays. There really isn't much new to the game from a half year ago though (except the Canyon of Sinking, Suzune, and the Succubus Boss), so I don't think the game grows much with each update.

I've already listed like a dozen games from here worth playing, so yeah, haha.

Also, can't forget the addition of the prison area.
Oh yeah, I forgot about. It's an interesting place, but incredibly short, and I don't think it connects anywhere; it just literally loops in a circle back on itself. I don't think you even get any equipment there? I actually just unlocked access to the Prison on my fresh new "mapping save", but I ignored it for now, because the entrance to the Prison is in a "weird direction", so I'm putting it off for now.

I'll probably just mark it on my map as a downward entrance or something, but I don't want the Abandoned Lower Layer or something else suddenly bumping into it and costing me hours of re-edits.

I'm not really sure what the Developer's priority with the game is, but it's clearly an interesting take on Salt and Sanctuary, although without the depth. I hope they continue to make it more complex, and eventually redo the equipment system; I get bored using the same weapon every playthrough, because the others are unappealing to me. The only elemental enchantments in the game are Holy and Darkness, but only Holy does something (permanently slays the undead piles in Remniscat Forest), although just that one thing, and it's not really noteworthy otherwise (in my opinon, although someone else here claims that sword is really good, it attacks fast, anyway).

You get an axe from going bottom right, I think (recent update added the NPCs there, used to be empty). Didn't test the weapon so no clue if it's good either.

I think I mainly use that holy weapon now - I felt I had to because that bloody Succubus boss was quite the something that can't be cheesed using the starting weapon. (The starting weapon is really good to hold onto if you're new. Not that it matters with this kinda game :p )
Not really liking most of the weapons either and their lack of attribute effects. Some are just too unique from each other to use, over one that you've settled to use from choosing at random. You just stick with one that fits your playstyle. Though, I suppose, I would think this is quite normal given one of the game's inspirations is Dark Souls. (So many weapons...)

On another note, do you think they'll add non-sexual status effects? Like poison, freezing, or being on fire? (Okay, maybe the last one could lead to partial/full nudity but that would be a lot of drawing for the H scenes)

The Witch's Sword attacks nice, but once you get the Ring of Haste, it doesn't hold much of an advantage over other weapons. Also, the INT version of the blade kind of sucks, but I've already rambled about how this game screws over INT scaling and magick in general, in an earlier post. Did you know that magick can't even Critical? A lot of stuff needs a buff.

Well, Dark Souls definitely had tier system of weapons, but at the very least at lot of them had something unique to keep them interesting, although I only played the original; I never got around to playing the last 2 or Demons Souls, mostly because I played the original on XBOX 360, and I quickly gave up that console due to a bunch of crap (I'm a PC gamer anyway). If they ever remaster DS 2 and 3, I'll grab those up (assuming they haven't, already).

Revenge of Night is definitely modeled after Salt and Sanctuary though, not Dark Souls. If you haven't played S&S, I HIGHLY recommend it. Definitely one of my favorite Metroidvania's. That game doesn't pull any punches, and has a ton of awesome equipment and builds, just like Dark Souls. Unfortunately, like Dark Souls, some of the more interesting equipment were bugged, and the developer never seemed to bother fixing that stuff. Amazing game though. Probably the only reason I'm as obsessed with RoN as I am, because they're so similar.

On another note, do you think they'll add non-sexual status effects? Like poison, freezing, or being on fire? (Okay, maybe the last one could lead to partial/full nudity but that would be a lot of drawing for the H scenes)
I highly doubt they will, or they would have done it already. Poisoning would be interesting to add to the game, but I guess that would mean adding antidotes too, so upto them if they want to code that much. When it comes to RPG's, I always like to poison/critical things. I always wanted that painting monster's tail dagger from Dark Souls 1 to be of good use, but I never quite got it to do anything better than the Silver Knight's Sword that I liked to much (it could be enchanted, and I liked the moveset).

Actually, on terms of nudity, I'm a bit disappointed that there's no "SFW Play Mode", although I guess that's more of a western concept. As I spent my entire day mapping out this game, I have to keep looking over my shoulder, incase someone comes into my room and sees Aradia shaking her huge Witch titties all over the place while she runs, just because her Victorian-Era ass whore clothes are made of paper and the damn Sewing Kits don't even work, so you can't repair them without a Save Point.
