on the other side besides the mod that increases the difficulty and add a few options in relation to the stamina and the struglle system, have you try any other interesting mods?
Other than uncensor and translations, I have tried 2 mods that increase difficulty. Based on your mention of "options", you probably tried NoREroMod and did not try BonedMod.
In the case of BonedMod it was not very configurable and enemies were easier than the default settings of NoREroMod's elite enemies, but a couple key boss fights were much harder in BonedMod than NoREroMod. Candore and
Original Aradia 2nd form can be brutally difficult if you were using a mod which enabled bosses to grab players into animations and their grab animations were finisher kills. If you go back to earlier pages before NoREroMod's release to where people generally used BonedMod, you'd see myriad complaints that Candore and
Original Aradia 2nd form were way too difficult because they easily grabbed then killed the player because escape was much harder. Many people complain about Boned's series of difficulty mods but I enjoy them and his mod for Alien Quest Eve felt fantastic.
What I did enjoy about BonedMod in retrospect is how much conscious effort was put into nerfing dash-dodge -- the player would slow down when dashing through enemies, which would always result in the enemy grabbing the player if they were not still playing an attack animation. I enjoy NoREroMod so much more because of its configurability, and have played through the game with 60 stamina cost per dodge instead of the usual 20. I'm currently now trying a different kind of config in which dash cost is 75 (minimum for testing, 90 stamina cost might be justified) and time to regen is down to the standard 2 secs instead of 3, but with more focus on blocking. The game generally puts so much focus on dash-dodging and extending fast-attacking weapon combos through dash-dodging that weapons that are slower or prioritize blocking instead of damage get ignored.
I will say the cheesiest build I didn't expect being so good is using the spear-launching holy staff you find in the path of Eternal Rest in a pure mage build with twinkling enhancement and Sword of Praise spell. With not much effort you'll be dealing near 500 damage per hit of a spell that hits twice in rapid succession with a huge magic pool, and the launched spears aren't so bad to use once you learn jump-attack activates them to move if you can't use normal attack twice in a row. In particular since
Original Aradia 2nd form is weak to holy magic it's a final boss melter. Demons tend to be weak to holy so the rifle found in the same location often fares better than the stronger cannon found earlier.
Edit: a feature I'd appreciate for NoREroMod is tuning variables on boss enemies. Besides bosses being much easier than normal enemies (or elite enemies with 95% spawn rate), they also give a lot of EXP (I let enemies only give me 10% of their EXP). I just like to enjoy the game by making it more fun, but this is definitely not the way to play for someone who hasn't beaten the game at least twice over.
