You might be right, but he also might not cut quite that much. TBF, all he's said is that he's going to cut "filler content". While the assumption is that he's going to cut some girls, we really don't know exactly what he considers to be "filler". He probably will clarify in the coming announcements.

My guess is all the girls will have some sort of conclusion, but certain branches might be de-emphasized. Like the cuckquean emma vs. faithful route... or the faithful vs. two-timing routes with Lisa/Lauren. It's possible that just for the sake of wrapping things up, RC can just leave whichever was the most popular of those paths and make a conclusion for that but cut the others. That way he can avoid cutting the girls entirely.

But that's just guessing really. We'll see what happens.

For the (digital) things you make a living with you usually have multiple backups. In the worst case you lose a weeks progress if you only backup once a week.

Dude decided to stop making AVNs because he's got family and incest stuff is taboo for him now and wants to do just normal VN without any kind of adult stuff.

Having a family really changes things. I stopped playing "father-daughter" kinks after having a daughter. I totally understand him. I haven't been playing/downloading stuff from here like I did when I was single.

He did "make a living" with the adult vns before but reality hit him hard and made him realize this isn't a path for him anymore.

Well, he said he want to go on on this, just without "family business".
But that's not the point. He claimed he destroyed "the hard drive" with the data on it. As programmer I say: "so what? restore from one of your backups."
He deleted all the backups? Well, that should take some effort. Backups usually are deliberatly stored in a not so easy accessible place, ideally not even in the same building.

Not that I am not questioning his decision to do this and that for a living in the future. Just the technical aspect sounds ... unlikely.
I don't think he is that stupid to have all the important data that he needs to pay his rent on one drive without having a backup.

Wait, what is this i hear? Dev changed his mind and will finish this game? Even though only for main LI's i hear and will cut side characters? Im fine with that, for me Charlotte and Tris are the best ones to go for anyway so i would certainly appreciate that he finishes it in some way

If he didn't add so many side chars, the game would have been finished for quite some time already
He's a busy bee, delivers faster than other developers and studios.

But that's just his style, worked in No More Secrets and he's actually able to pull it off.
I'm good if there's at least a real ending for the main characters.

WTYM? We litterally just discussing it a few posts above that the dev changed his mind and will be finishing the game after all.
So, not dead at all, dev said he will be making a couple more episodes to wrap up the story

It's no longer abandoned.

TLDR is the dev says he struggled with the incest themes now that he has a young family, so he canned it. He says the poll on his Patreon persuaded him to reverse that decision, so he's going to pick it back up, although some side stories/girls might get skipped (and he also deleted files, so continuing might not be so straightforward).

This is getting weirder and weirder. I do understand that he might want to wrap up fast and be done with it but side characters are not family. So, he drops the parts that does not irk him and keep making what does.
