Honestly, one of the best games I've seen in this forum. It has everything that appeals to me: choices matter, beautiful girls, engaging storyline with professional-level writing, drama, kinks, moral decisions, you can shape your character the way you want through your decisions etc. etc. I'm actually baffled how little discussion it has compared to other ridiculously shitty porn VNs in this same forum.

How did I miss this one?

After each update, there are some nice discussions going on, but not so much during these "in-between" times. It's really hard to get a game noticed over here among the other thousands of games.

If I may ask, how have you guys found it out, almost a month after the last release?

I think f95 lacks better tools to help players find the games they like. A game is only "discoverable" for 3-4 days while on the first pages of the newest updated list. This is true for 99% of the games, only a few special ones manage to "go viral".

This game has a good rating at the moment, so, maybe if the next couple of updates retain the same quality and players keep reviewing it this highly, it can keep climbing in the rating sorted list and be more easily found. But I'm a bit sceptical that many players actually find games that way.

I generally see them if another person updates one of the threads I follow. I keep an eye on the new games list, and I even had an urge and scrolled through all the games on the games list. Otherwise, I search through tags. I can't remember how I found this particular game, though.

I personally feel like F95 is the best for games; online streaming game sites typically suck. Itch is limited since it caters to genres other than NSFW. 'Net searches typically net no new options. I'd be open to hearing about other resources for games, though.

I actually found it by reading some thread in 4chan. Some anon recommended it.
On 4chan? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
I was not expecting that! But yeah, word of mouth is the best publicity.

I quite like itch as a developer. You can filter for the adult tag and find popular games, top sellers, newest, top rated, etc. It has a couple more features than f95, the problem is wayyy fewer developers use it... Over here, you can find any game. That's not true over there.

I'd like some steam-like features like "if you like this game, you'll also like this one", or "trending games in the last week/month". Stuff like that, that, unfortunately, goes beyond what can easily be implemented in a forum.

Even the "trending games" forum section seems to be broken because it always shows the same games. Get that working would be great.

The recommendation threads are a great way to find games you might like, but, looking at how many views those threads typically have, I don't think many players look into them to find games.

I also really liked this idea to make "likes" more relevant (right now they pretty much just say how old a game is).

But, all in all, it's not an easy thing to improve.

In the end, I don't even think this particular game has such a great target audience that still hasn't discovered it. It's a slow burn vn, lots of dialogue, not vanilla, doesn't have "landladies" and harems, all stuff that typically reduces how popular a game can get. I was just curious to know where people that have posted recently have found about the game.

Yeah, I agree with you. I honestly didn't know that incest and harem fetishes were that predominant. I honestly never cared about incest (probably because I grew up with two sisters) and harem just doesn't do nothing for me (where's the drama and expectation if you'll always have all the girls?). I'm not into cuck and ntr either, but at least I understand why some people like it. Harem, though, it's just too easy a fap (lol). But your game is gripping and you have really great writing and a solid storyline and to be honest you're one of the first projects I even thought of paying money on patreon. So cheers, be strong and continue your project. You do have fans.

Thanks for the kind words.

I didn't mean it in a self-deprecating way. I think this game is quite good and I'm proud of how it is going. Taking into account games that started at the same time, it is not doing badly on patreon at all. It is also getting quite good reviews over here.

I'm just saying that I'm not surprised that it hasn't become an "instant hit" and isn't well known. Firstly, because those are rare events. Secondly, because, as I said, it might have a more niche audience. But I really don't know. I also think (hope?) players appreciate a game that tries to do something different, and that a lot of people is starting to get tired of the same old harem/incest/college popular trinity.

Anyway, I'm still curious about how anyone found out about this game besides the newest update list. If anyone else wants to share that, I'm all ears.

I thoroughly enjoy the mechanics of this game. However, I find myself uninterested in the struggles of the MC, and the characterization of most of the love interests still feels rather shallow. Emma and Jen feel like actual characters, if a bit bland, but the rest of the LIs feel more like vessels for their respective kinks than fully realized characters. Lea and Deb in particular especially fall under this problem IMO.

But... the mechanics of the game are masterful. Your choices actually create branching paths, the point systems and perk trees are great ideas, and they all integrate well with actually playing the game in a way where I pick the choices that make sense to me. With exception to cunning, which I'm lacking in, I'm balanced in the other three point types and the choices still make sense. This could be pioneering role-playing mechanics within the AVN genre, and that is exciting!

The VN side of the game is more slice of life, which doesn't lend itself to as much excitement and intrigue in plot, but I do hope that the LIs will begin to stand out a bit more as flushed-out characters.

Well, when you posted in the smoking fetish thread. Which I've wanted to ask you about. You said you were reticent (for reasons that made good sense), what made you go for it? And what made you decide to eventually have lewd scenes with smoking somehow involved? A lot of people don't even know this fetish exists, and most content we get in VN's is I think incidental, rather than deliberate. So I'm curious what your thought process was.

Also, I'm curious if you plan on gating any such content behind a skill, or if it will just be a dialogue choice (assuming you've even thought that far ahead on this topic.). Not for mechanical reasons (I'm primarily roll playing, but I am being a little strategic to make sure I have some points in all quadrants.) but because none of the skills seem blatantly appropriate. I can see some that would work, but all of them have more natural uses. I'm not asking for the specific skill(s) if it is skill based, I'd rather find out specifics in play. Just curious about your general thought process here, because such is my nature, and because I'm almost always entertained and intrigued when you discuss your ideas and thoughts about the game (or anything, really.)

Actually, I'd even be interested in knowing how you picked kinks to include in general. Some of them are fairly obvious includes that nearly every game has. Some of them are not obvious, at least to me, and seem uncommon. So your thoughts on niche content in general?

I found the game on the list a couple weeks after last release. I was looking through some games for something new. Honestly it was sort of just a lucky draw in my case. I like a good mixture of different sort of kinks in games. I can find the male sub or dom role fun as long as it is good. I have never really liked the more abusive sort of relationships in games. Seems like most fem dom stuff leans towards more mean than I like. Cause it seems to carry on from the bedroom into the more normal lives. I suppose some people are into that though. On the other side if I play a male dom I would also hate to treat the female sub poorly. That seems less common though. Or maybe I am just more into the B/D and not into the S/M

I like the mix of cast within the game. Feels like eventually there will be something for everyone in it. Also I suppose being a big chess fan made it a bit entertaining for me. Even though I suck I feel good when I can spot the moves! lol

My experience was similar to Mattrox's. While scouring the list for further exhibitionism titles a fortnight ago, I found myself intrigued by the cover art and sold on the preview of the skill tree. Gave it a go and played way past sensible hours. Visual presentation, game mechanics, story, and cast are just overall great. As was the inclusion of chess. I sadly missed the last Lea scene, so will probably do a rerun soon, especially seeing as there seems to be a potential tie-in to the Deb path I'm on.

Interesting, maybe tag searching is more used than I thought. I think the whole tag system could be better and I'm curious to see how the promised new system will work once the site is updated.

You said you were reticent (for reasons that made good sense), what made you go for it?
I guess curiosity? For most stuff in the game I get enough feedback, but there was not much about the smoking renders. So, I decided to ask, even though I typically avoid "promoting" the game in those kinds of threads. It feels cheap when it's the dev recommending the game, it is better if the suggestion comes from other players. But I don't know, maybe there are some opportunities to do it in good taste, as it seems to have been this case.

And what made you decide to eventually have lewd scenes with smoking somehow involved? A lot of people don't even know this fetish exists, and most content we get in VN's is I think incidental, rather than deliberate. So I'm curious what your thought process was.
Personal preference. I’m not a smoker, but my father was for many years and I kinda like the smell, even if I don’t like the smoke itself thrown at me. But I think a girl smoking looks hot and can be fetishized. As with many other kinks, they might look really hot in images/stories/videos, even if one might not be particularly interested in playing them in real life.

I'm curious if you plan on gating any such content behind a skill, or if it will just be a dialogue choice (assuming you've even thought that far ahead on this topic.). Not for mechanical reasons (I'm primarily roll playing, but I am being a little strategic to make sure I have some points in all quadrants.) but because none of the skills seem blatantly appropriate.
There will be at least a couple lewd smoking scene involving Olivia, maybe more. The smoking part will probably be just an optional choice or be present in the scene no matter what if making two versions of that scene is too much work. The skill needed for that scene will be related with something else relevant to the scene.

The thing with throwing just a couple scenes for a fetish is that it pleases no one. Will people with a smoking/feet/spanking/whatever fetishe play the whole game just to see a couple scenes? I doubt it.

Will they like the game anyway and just be extra happy that it also has those couple scenes that they really like? I'm hoping this is the case.

Can I give all these kinks more than 2/3 scenes so that those players at least have some route/girl that has lots of the kink they enjoy? Yes, but it's always a matter of if those scenes are worth the extra development when they might be avoided by the vast majority of players.

I'd even be interested in knowing how you picked kinks to include in general. Some of them are fairly obvious includes that nearly every game has. Some of them are not obvious, at least to me, and seem uncommon. So your thoughts on niche content in general?
I just tried to include all kinks that made sense for a given character, and that I thought that could lead to some interesting stories outside of the lewd scenes. I try to tie the sex scenes with narrative events so they aren’t "just sex" and become more interesting choices/events. If nothing else, the lewd scenes/kinks should at least develop a bit more a character’s personality and the player should feel more connected to the girl, as if sharing that intimate moment leads to them getting to know the girl better. Trying to mimic what happens in real life. Although, it is easier said than done.

At the same time, I avoided those kinks that need a lot of resources or special narratives that I don’t think fit in the game. Kinks like sissification, impregnation, ntr, etc, need the whole game to revolve around them, or at least have a big story around them that’s ignored by players not going into that path. I am not interested in telling those stories in parallel, or having to devote that much of my limited time/resources to those kinks.

Other kinks, no matter how niche they are, can be easily added to one of the major paths/girls. So, the rule of thumb is that if a kink can easily be part of a route, and if it makes sense for that character, I try to add it. As long as I am confident that I understand why that kink is hot and can represent it well in-game, which might not end up be the case.

To be honest one of the things that helps me find games more than the search tab is actually commenters having links in sigs. I will see one person talk about a game that I am looking at and in their sig they will have a game that looks interesting to me. Not sure if that helps any or if I am alone in that. But odds are if I had seen you talking about another game I was interested in I may have clicked your link. Not sure if it is only devs doing it or if just big fans go around with links too. But definitely don't advertise in other peoples pages. Have some legit reason to talk about it.

Maybe also advertise Jen in your signature or banner stuff too. Male dom stuff is pretty much always popular and she is really well done. Besides that I think it may take getting a bit more content to really hit a big peak. No matter how great you write a story some people are not going to read any of it and skip ahead.

For me, I tend to scroll through the first handful of pages of the Games forum every time I visit this site. Sorted by last message. So I'm generally familiar with the games that spur lots of conversation, whether I play them or not. And then other games show up from time to time, usually after they are updated.

The primary factor in whether I take a closer look at a game is the rating. If it's in the 4-5 star range, I'll hover over the title. If the art looks appealing or the beginning of the overview sounds interesting, I'll open up the thread to read more about the game and check out the genre tags and sample images. And if that's all good then I'll likely download it -- although I'll usually wait until a game has been updated at least once.

So I generally find most of my new games because of this site. The ratings and the conversations. I think I skipped past this game the first time because of the "sexologist" piece in the overview -- I thought it sounded potentially cheesy/silly. And I wasn't fully sold on the art style after checking out the sample images. But the very high rating made me give it a second look. And I'm glad I did!

Yeah, I meant to update the sigs for a while since chapter 3 came out but haven’t done it until now. I’m also not sure how good this is, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. There’s a link in my sig where anyone can get more sigs if they are interested. I’m not really good at this, I made them all in this style because it was the best I managed and now I have a nice template. But if anyone likes them, feel free to pick. There are some showing favorite kinks, others showing the favorite Love Interest.

But definitely don't advertise in other peoples pages. Have some legit reason to talk about it.
Oh yeah, I meant threads in the discussion forum dedicated to specific topics. For example, here are some where I found my game being recommended:
Story-first games
Femdom Finder
Foot Fetish
Most underrated games
And the one mentioned a few posts above: Girls Smoking in games (which was the only one I posted there myself)

Besides these, I don’t feel very comfortable commenting/praising/criticizing other people’s games (or have time to play them anymore :ROFLMAO:). When I feel like it and have something interesting to say I do post in the general section of the forum, but it’s not that common.

Besides that I think it may take getting a bit more content to really hit a big peak. No matter how great you write a story some people are not going to read any of it and skip ahead.
Yeah, each update brings more people, more content, and more chances of anyone finding the game interesting. It’s only natural.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Maybe that intro bit is something to improve. I’ve barely change it since the 1st release.

Are you sure you installed the patch 0.3.1 correctly?

I don’t have a mac myself to test the patch, but other mac users have said that it fixes the issues.
Also, the android version had the same problem, I had to do the same “fix” there. I know the "fix" works because I tested it myself on my phone. So, I'm almost certain it should also work on MAC (although, I don't know for sure because I can't test it myself).

Please try to extract the folders again in a new directory and start from the beginning.
  • Download the mac 0.3.1 patch
  • Unzip
  • Copy the "nif.app" folder
  • Open the original game folder: nif-0.3.0
  • Paste and merge the folders copied on step 3
  • When promoted to replace the scripts.rpa and shaders.rpa files, accept for both

Please make sure you repleaced both files.
If you did that already and it still doesn’t work for whatever reason, I’m afraid I cannot help more than this at the moment.

I'll eventually make a new version that definitely runs on MAC/android, but it's not a quick thing, and I haven't finished it yet.

This game has a lot of content then a lot of other vn that are at 0.3 or so I'm very impressed. I am wondering how certain things will develop like jen and mc sub path or just the relationship in general. I wonder if only the mc and jen will keep the secret or that the mc will convince his other friends to help keep it. Also looking forward to more deb dom scenes like the failed good boy scene. Lastly looking forward to how you develop emma friendship or relationship with the mc.

Just started this game today.
Im wondering should you only buy kink skills when its actually required of you to use it or do it in advance?
For example the very first one, you didnt have it until you bought it, is it the same for everything else?
Not so sure how the Romance and Loyal ones would work, since im not really sure is that even a kink or what
Also do you get locked out of certain characters or it just all depends on your skill kinks
I'm playing in blind mode
