Update: Bad news and a delay

"So, the worst has happened. My laptop died. I should've seen it coming, what with the issues I was having as of late. Let's just say that the battery was swollen, soft and squishy, which is not a thing you want from a battery unless you're the machines from The Matrix. And this was just the last in a long line of things that I'd been slapping Band-Aids on for a while now (replaced two fans and the hinges had to be epoxied back into a functioning shape).

I've got a replacement ordered, but as with everything else during a pandemic that's constraining our delivery infrastructure, I'm going to have to wait a week for it to arrive. Right now, I'm on an old laptop that's basically got me online and not much else. It certainly doesn't have the power to even boot up Honey Select much less do anything with it.

The good news? I didn't lose any of the files. I was able to yank the HDD right out and slap it in a USB housing. In fact, I'm able to continue working on the script and code as the backup laptop I have is able to run the Ren'Py SDK decently enough.

Best case scenario, I get my new computer in a week and everything runs fine. I figure most of the script and code'll be in place and it'll be a matter of getting the renders done before having a playable build ready. So, there'll be a delay, but I still hope to have Chapter 20 out before the end of the month.

Laptop? Dont you need a big hefty GPU in an actual PC to make these games? At least for Daz3D stuff. Is Honey Select a lot easier, resource wise, than Daz when making games that laptops are fine or does Kinderfeld have one of those pretty strong spec'd out gamer laptops? I know a lot of those get high end (mobile) GPUs and 32gb+ RAM. They are pretty decent. His description though makes me think of some crappy old Dell from 2002 lol.

I always did suspect Honey Select games were much more easier to make games for and accessible to a lot more people who might have lower end computers and smaller budgets. The actual tools too might be easier than Daz as well.

Yes VN made with Honey Select are based off screenshots of eponym game. So it doesn't require that big of a rig to do it.

Feels like the latest episode could use a small editing pass. There's a few things that are a little inconsistent. For example, Hana tells MC she made the barricade early in her room, and then MC sees the barricade and wonders if Hana made it, and then they talk in more detail about it later. There's also a line or so in the date with Alice that doesn't really seem to follow, during the dancing bit. So far.

Hi, a question how to play this game after certain point: at the school after you had a talk with Naomi you have three options from time to time to go with: spend time with with Carol, Naomi or patrol around or something. What is the logic here and how should play the game? If you spend time with a girl you get a sex scene, however by default you will miss half of the sex scenes in the game? Also why would you ever choose the third option, as you will miss 100% of all sex scenes in the game? This can lead to weird situations where the story doesn't make sense anymore, for example you have hardcore sex with Naomi despite never having sex with her! Anyway, nice plot.

In my opinion, that is the one big problem with the school part of the game but the walkthrough mod fixes the problem by giving you all the scenes.

You get enough loving to go around, and you have to choose your path. In a few chapters, there are a couple pick one girl or the other, and if you pick one one day, and the other the next day, you get to satisfy all girls and the MC. It also depends on what path you are taking. Are you going only Carol? Are you going only Naomi? etc.

I don't remember the details, but weren't there a fair amount of "then nothing of interest happened for a few days" when at the school? I'm pretty sure there was in the apartment at least. If true, those other paths could have easily happened then.

There were maybe a few days like that. Most days at the school you talked to people, had the opportunity for sex with someone, or moved the story along. I don't remember much "do nothing" except maybe right after you were injured and you were healing, but even then, it was like "and a week passed with nothing happening" and you didn't play it day by day.

The point I was trying to answer was the person I was responding to stated it wasn't fair that they had to pick one girl a day, why not screw both. I was giving insight into why that was the case. They were satisfied with the patch which allows you to do that.
