I'm really glad you were able to come to an agreement with the developers to continue this project. I wish you much success with this project.

Obviously I'm not going to ask for anything, but I'd really like you to keep the romance part. In characters like my beautiful Mary, Sofia, Angela or Julia, the romance carries a lot of weight in their story and is based on love/affection/trust.

So, I personally would like to continue to see the development of their relationships in this way.

The romance part will definitely stay. I'm really big on romance and personally, my favourite thing in AVNs is seeing the relationship between the MC and the LI develop, as I feel like it's the culmination of multiple different elements in the story coming together, and when executed right, the payoff is extraordinary. I plan on trying to achieve that in this game and fleshing out and developing the relationships, something I feel was largely neglected in Part 1, in favour of sex scenes (Don't get me wrong there will still be plenty of sex, but more of a balance).

Lighting these scenes proved quite challenging as they were both at night time and trying to find a balance to portray night time while still also having the render look good and not too dim was quite hard. Hopefully I was able to achieve that, but there was quite a lot of experimenting with values, that's for sure!

The render with MC and Mario was the first time I had experimented with ghost lights and oh boy, they're fantastic. I had 4 and set them to 200% and I did this at 3am so when I rendered it, my face nearly burnt off from the intensity, but I deleted 2 and set them down to 80% and coupled with the luminance of the lamps, I think it created the desired look. Still plenty more to learn, but I'm really enjoying the process so far!

Already blew a bunch of money on Daz assets though unfortunately :/

I would say that black, too black, is a typical mistake for beginner developers.
Look around, perfect black is almost never found in nature.

The skydome isn't actually black, it's blue with stars, I think it's just quite hard to tell due to the lighting in the scene

she looks snarky, self righteus while he looks scared to death, desperate,
based on facial expressions alone.

That lightning is what we are missing in many games where indoors/night scenes
are that dark it makes it difficult to see chars.

The table talk with the henchman, MC needs to lay back and be hands down on the chair/table.
He looks very tense, like he is the one reporting to the thug.
Is he in a headmaster office being schooled?

This game already has a lot of plot threads woven and characters built up.
Only thing you can do to fail at this point is mess all of those up horrendously.

Edit: Also you doubt my ability to screw this up lmao. I'm new to this still even though I was a writer back in the day, now I'm the sole dev so it's different. While there are plot threads woven, I'm continuing on from where they left off but changing what's happening going forward. This is because I have my own idea of what I want the game to achieve and be, and the key one is a fleshed out story, something which was not fully lacking in Part 1, but was in areas, such as the mafia life (which I don't think was explored enough, the day to day things, like protection money, money laundering, loan sharking, etc. and we really didn't see any people from the Gallio family or in fact other families aside from the core cast and one or two henchmen, so that's something I definitely want to change, and the move away from the sex to more of a balance between story & sex may turn some people off because the game will feel like it's slowed down suddenly.

Also, I need to slim down a lot of the plot points and threads because there are way too many and it would take me ages to develop this game if I kept them all, so the loss of some of those may also make people dislike the game, but oh well, it's all a learning experience and all I can do is try my best.

all i can say is keep hoping lmao. she’ll have some scenes, but she’s not really a focus of mine going forward. Angela, Bella, Sofia, Mary and kinda Donna and Daniela too will definitely be the core focus, Julia and Barbara will unfortunately be on the sidelines a bit more just because there are so many LIs to juggle and they’re not really relevant to the story at all.

I wonder about a few things though, I only played until chapter 6 or 7 so excuse any ignorance in these questions if it already changed somewhat ;

will there still be 3 (difficulties / paths to start with? the drugs/gambling and prostitution was it I think?)
will some characters still be exclusive on a certain path? ( think I remember the detective being on one path only. Which I remember being annoyed about because I went for the path that was advertised as the be all one.. and she was excluded from that )
will you still get negative points with your "girlfriend" if you get the bj from the waitress girl in the club? ( I mean at least at a scene explaining how she would know about this if so, it made no sense the way it was implemented)

and with that in mind;

Awesome! I know it’s a mixed bag with a lot of people, some people play this game or will pick up this game expecting a quick fap but that’s really not my kind of vibe. When I was writing initially, a lot of the slower burning scenes was me. I was largely in charge of Sofia’s route so the beach date, park, etc. were my main things and as you can probably tell, they were slower intimacy wise than the rest of the game. That trend will continue into Part 2 where there will be intimacy but story will definitely take priority for me because at the end of the day, this is a “Visual Novel” not primarily a porn game.

As I always like to say, a visual novel with adult elements. Hopefully this change won’t be too divisive but I know I’ve already pissed off some people with it judging by what they’ve said to me, so I guess we’ll just wait and see hahaha

Nah, in theory the path system was a fantastic idea, however it never really amounted to much, save a couple of scenes and that was largely due to how much harder it made development with having multiple paths and so many characters, so I’ll ditch that moving forward and merge everything onto the one path. With that being said, I will be keeping the ruthless option and it will play a much more active role in the story.

Also, I’ve had a lot of people ask me this so I want to clarify, I am not allowed to change and rework anything from Part 1. That is completely the work of HSA games. I am completely responsible for anything going forward though and they in no way have any connection to future releases of the game and won’t influence development. So Part 1 = HSA Games only and Part 2 = Me only

Oh there will definitely be conflict between them. They will be the scenes she’s mainly getting. She will be a focus at points, but definitely not as much of a focus as Angela and Bella for example due to their connection with the rival mafia families.

The different routes stopped playing a part nearly entirely by the end of the game. I’ll carry across a couple of variables but most are irrelevant so it’ll be fine
