I mean, i was just responding to someone who originally compared the two. Of course the dev is under no obligation to change anything, just like people are not under obligation to remain supporting a dev if they don't like the direction a game has moved into. Its entirely possible someone likes the first release of a game so they support, and 3 updates later they add something they don't like so it gets taken away. Now either the person can just remove support without saying anything or offer feedback that says hey, i didnt like this or didn't like the direction the game is going in. If the dev chooses to do nothing with that feedback (which is well within his / her right) then its really on them if that person chooses to stop giving money. I would rather someone provide feedback of things they didn't like with the chance of keeping the patreon pledge if its a legit concern or enough people give the feedback instead of just losing them without knowing why.

I know it's rare to say this but I hope the father Frank sticks around and isn't killed off but if he is I understand. Also I don't know much about the Italian mob culture but I thought that if one of their wives were to "step out" on them they were killed.

I dont get where the fucking is... you want EVERY GIRL without any consequences at all? Basically what you're saying is every game should just have a a on or off switch to end up with a girl or not. Just because you dont start off with every girl hating you doesnt mean its a harem game. Just because its possible to romance every girl doesnt mean you can romance them all at once without consequences. Where did you get the idea its a harem game other than in your own head that it was a harem game?
If anything, it's already too easy to have sex with loads of women. Don't see how people are complaining about a lack of sex... At least progress with Sofia has not gone too quick, interested in seeing how she will be (hopefully slowly) corrupted.
I don't want you to feel like i hate your game or that i'm ragging on your ability to story tell but maybe i can help you to understand why people who aren't reading the tags feel that way.
Day 1: You have the choice to bed 1 of 2 characters whom you've barely known. They don't seem like fully fleshed out characters and put out really quick.
Day 2: You have another new girl thrust herself upon you with almost 0 thought from the MC about consquences or even remote thought process about said consquences. It's at this point that the gameplay you want starts to solidify itself as a harem in a lot of people's minds. This then continues and you're able to again have another new romantic encounter.... ??? Not seeing a trend ?
Day 3: The 2nd of the two girls from the first days is now also able to be fucked with near 0 investment. Okay, look fool me once shame and me and all that, but 3 different girls in 3 days and you're trying to straight face tell me it's not a harem ? Especially when the MC himself has no 2nd thoughts in dialogue ?
I don't really think i need to continue showcasing the pattern at this point.
Your gameplay and script don't reflect the nature of what you're intending the game to play as. It instead plays as a harem-trap. It presents a false dichotomy of what it could be while re-enforcing what you (the dev) want it to be.
Again i don't write this out of spite or hatered as i geninuely like the game and it's setting. However, it could be executed much better on and the writing could be better updated to reflect this as could the gameplay.
Early in the thread you agreed to disagree with someone who brought up that the -4 made no sense in context but you did it anyway because you felt it was needed. There's better ways to go about a negative consquence without arbitrary stats, show it. If instead of just tacking on a -4 someone from the rival mob saw or recorded you and took that to your romatic interest that would be better. If you want to portrary the MC as a faithful family protecting mafiso then perhaps have his dad spew some of that value at him and have his own story reflect that when he notices not Aunt being unfaithful to not only the mob but to her own family.
It's the finer points of execution that matter and those finer points right now don't exist.
Sorry for the essay. I just had to vent after seeing the contradiction from your earlier statement of understanding user frustration with the tuning of your games romance system to this almost heated dismissal of why people would see your game as something you don't want it to be. The reasons above hopefully help you understand why people could easily see your game as a harem as it does play out like one. You're not the only dev to do this though and it's still early and could be corrected if you want to improve.

Listen, Im not saying that the game is anything other than what it is, a Adult VN/porn game. The premise is to have sex scenes with a somewhat coherent story. I'm trying to find a balance between the two where it's not just a porn game without a story. Im not indifferent to your criticism or how it can be misinterpreted as a harem game when, you are gods gift to women when certain characters first meet you. Is it lazy? Possibly but then we'd go through a bunch of chapters with 0 sex scenes. And who wants to play a porn game where you have to wait until chapter 6 to have some sex scenes? Are some of them rushed. Of course. Are some of them unrealistic. Of course. You just cant win either way. People will complain either way it's too slow or its too easy or its too fast or its too hard... I do understand all the criticism though, but it's quite easy to sit back and just criticize after the fact. I'm doing what I think is right and what I think is going to make a good game while trying to listen to helpful criticism... It's all I can do really.

Trust me i get the hard balance your trying to achieve. Sex games without sex are indeed a snooze-fest. I wont even deny or argue that. What i will say is if you want a story driven romance focused game you have to as a dev and writer be willing to make some concessions on the speed at which that happens or at the very least the circumstances around it and how the game at large will react to it. See the example of the arbitrary -4 above for example. I don't envy the position you're in a dev because your right it's not easy and all you can do is your best while learning along the way. That's why i gave the feedback i could, what you do with it is up to you. I still like the game for what it is, even if i think it could be better.

I dont know if your dev as your name reminds me more of the Dev of "Under House Arrest", but dude chill, let that one poster that is always snarky and likes to gate-keep shit in games be your attack dog... as people already expect that from her... no need for you to come across as angry at people for asking for stuff (no matter how many times) or you'll end up alienating people, like what happened recently with Sunshine Love, and the devs trolling people with a crappy fetish bait.
If you feel the need to respond, just do the bare minimum and say "I already said 100 times no harem", and leave it at that.
I like your game harem or not, as the MC comes across as likable even if he is in a shitty italian mob culture... hopefully your game allows us to play him as a nice guy that still controls stuff without coming across as a "cunt" like Paulie so far does. So far all the +leadership points are things that I agree with the MC doing, while the +Ruth are things I think only an ignorant rage monkey would do.
Even so as much as I like the game, I will only play my preferred route once, and thats it, shelve the game, when I can no longer remember I will play again, and possibly go down my EXACT same route.... Devs that think the game or a single girl are worth an entire play through are kidding themselves...
Its shit like this that is killing the Japanese Eroge market, and its only sustained by sad lonely Otakus... people want more than one hot chick per route usually... That doesnt mean they want a single route, you can have multiple ones, but even Eroges are now including a harem route in most games.
Again I mean harem route, not harem end... do I like Harem endings ? yes, are they always realistic and good for every game ? no... Harem route to me simply means the MC can "hopefully" fuck all the girls before he has to make a choice... I mean in Real Life its super rare for some guy or girl to fuck only the person and marry them, we all have multiple people before settling on the "one".

Someone should put a warning at the beginning to NOT do both crime routes because it blocks out the best girl Marcy scene. That auto pullout almost ruined how hot the scene was tho.
