Fake end of the month update: Unity sucks edition.

Another month another bullshit excuse. Luckily for me, I'm not a Kangaroo father full of pride, or I'd be in worse trouble than Unity is now. This means I'm back with the Godot engine team so I will have to slow down on the already complete 0.4 version of Offcuts with Alice Route. Due to me being laz... I mean, compatobility issues with multpile devices, I will not be making video animations. It's OK becaise once I release 0.4 after Thanksgiving, I will slowly get into 0.5 where I will introduce new character that woll get their own routes and James will get a new partner, Jessie. She has a cat and loves to bust Cole's balls as much as James does. But I won't spoil too much until 0.5 release for the tentative date of July 18th, 2024, because after 0.4 I won't release full routes so I can have faster releases.

Steam: dunno. They flip flop on adult games and my lazy ass would get roasted for my permanent tardiness.
Android: Unless a helpful soul makes an unofficial android mod, y'all are SOL because it might take me a little bit for an official release.
Videos: I already said I'm too lazy for that, I mean it eats too many resources and weaker devices couldn't handle the awesome.
TMI: I do all of my renders without wearing pants.

Monthly Update - Update Update Edition

Another month passes by, which means it's time for the tried and true monthly update! The previous update was last week, so this post will be a pretty short one. As mentioned in the last update, Offcuts 0.4 release date is scheduled to be around November 26th, give or take a few days. I'm also planning to start posting some more content as the release date draws closer so we'll hopefully get a good routine going after this long break.
In other news, the whole Unity3D drama has somewhat calmed down as the company made some adjustments to their licensing terms after some heavy community backlash. Still, it's a bad omen and the situation is probably not going to get much better in the future. As I'm planning to shift into full real-time 3D at some point, it's not an engine I would choose right now. I'll share more of this once it becomes relevant after 0.4 is released.
As always, I'm not going to take any Patreon payments until 0.4 is out (I'll temporarily suspend my Patreon at the end of each month until then).
The rest of the post is mostly copied from my previous updates for those who are new or want to be reminded of what will be coming next. See you in the next post, thanks for your support and patience!

* Some new tech in 0.4: interactive 3D and pre-rendered movies, at least a few of each. When I get the pipeline (and my skills) working smoothly, next releases should have more.
* After 0.4 I will try out a bit faster release schedule with partial updates instead of releasing large, complete routes that take ages to finish. We'll see how it goes.
* Steam release at some point after 0.4 is out. Steam has been pretty random with adult games, so who knows what can happen.

Don't be so sure. I made a bet with my cat that this would be updated before Milfy City and that cash cow was "updated" a few weeks ago. Now my cat is eating steak while I gotta eat Meow Mix.

The fuss is that for over 4 years the creator has been doing updates on how he's done jack shit about the game and has kept pushing back on the release for an update that it's "done" but it's "not". It has gotten so ridiculous that I think people are here more for mocking the creator's irresponsibility than for the game. It's the Shenmue 3 of porn games.

I don't understand how so many people can be dissapointed about an 80 MB game.
So the 150 pages is not due ot the popularity, but rather for mocking the creator ? Ok, sounds about right.
I really wonder how big this game is, to attract so much mockery.
Ok, ok. i simply try it.
The game is 'finished', it's just additional content that has been in limbo for 4 years now. As it is it's still really good, would definitely recommend.
I don't think there is any ill will except for maybe a few deranged individuals, more along the lines of back and forth trolling since Stencil has provided consistent 'information' updates for several years now with no actual update releases.
Honestly should just swap to or add a Completed tag and call it a day.

The fuss is this dev who continually strings people along month after month for 4 years now.
Each year follows the same pattern as the year before. He regurgitates the same garbage in the early months, posts a release date, and then walks it back due to some random "catastrophe" before the release date hits that sets the whole thing in motion all over again next year.
We all know it's competed in its current state, most of the trolling is done in tongue and cheek tbh. I don't think anyone here has any malice toward stencils bit. It's just too funny to see a man lie about something he absolutely fucking has no need no lie about. He takes no money from his supporters so i dont know why he just not tell the truth(more about it later). The reasons he cooks up just keep getting more and more ridiculous and more and more funny now.
Honesty i(or most of us here)don't even care about the update anymore(The truth is it will happen only after HL3 release cause stencil bit is also lead dev on that and can complete this update when that is done).

He is now working on HL3? Wow. I knew he was the head developer for Duke Nukem Forever and thats why it took 14 years. He wanted to use the Godot engine but too many people were against it.
Can't wait to see the half life universe in Godot.
Before he can do that, he's got to finish ghostwriting the Winds of Winter and the Door of Stone

To add to this. I had been watching this thread for months now, and I still haven't played the game.
Isominiac made 4 games in 5 years SM1, SMMM, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, and SM2 in that same time frame alice update has been on the shelf. Hell we might get their wolverine game before we get alice update thats set to realese in 2025
