You gotta give a tiny amount of respect for Stencil. He has paused his Patreon every month since November 2019 so at least he isn't milking the patrons.
I do feel sorry that people have been subbed or been re-subbing to his Patreon since that time and nothing has come for going on 6 years.
Oh my, please stop paying attention to this game unless the developer actually releases an update. I saw them claiming an update was coming a year ago, but what followed were endless lousy excuses. Personally, I feel the creator is just toying with those interested in the game. For other developers who are genuinely working hard, it's quite unfair that this abandoned game still ranks so high after being neglected for so long.

At this point, nobody (that isn't in a vegitative state and has an IQ higher than a house plant) really expects any update to be released.
But who could resist a free ride every month on the Stencilbits...

Right now it's all about the lulz woth this topic. Like a period, Stencilbits comes with some bullshit and we simply laugh at it. The real Offcuts is the friends we made along the way.
yeah, so I kinda don't want to go through endless pages of the dev's useless devlogs and people making fun of him, 'cause while entertaining, I do have a specific question if someone would be kind enough: What is the actual current state of this game? I've heard it is somewhat completed but not quite? I dunno... well anyways, thanks in advance!

The short answer is: The current state is almost ready. It just needs a final pass for typos, bug fixes, and editing images that need it.
The longer answer: The developer has been saying the above sentence since November 2019. Every month, until January 2024, has been a copy/paste post with a few words changed here and there. In January he changed it up and started using medical excuses all the while still saying that it is "almost ready".
The only one that knows for sure what the current state is is the developer and he is not saying. Considering we are heading into 6 years of "almost ready" I'd wager that the current state is nonexistent.
Alright thanks, but I'm asking about the state of the game's narrative specifically... is the story complete then? if it's just a matter of fixing typos, fixes, etc... that implies the story is basically finished, or am I missing something?

As I recall, there are routes finished. As in, choose one of three girls and you can reach an ending with her. It's the release with the fourth girl, Alice, that has been living in limbo.

Its been years since I played but I think 3 girls stories are done. The developer was working on a different girls story when he went into cryo sleep. The typos fixes etc etc are for the route that was being worked on.
ohhhhh I see... okay thanks guys... I guess I'll try it... what's the name of the girl that's not done, so I can avoid that? thanks!

Doesn't work like that. Basically the only girls who got completed were the blonde girl with the bitchy attitude, the redheaded next door neighbour and the foster sister with black hair.

The girl I wanted all along is the girl this next update was SUPPOSED to be for, and of course, that's the one the dev stopped at.

January Offcuts FAKE UPDATE: Valentine's day is cumming edition.

Another month has come and gone. My eye is a bit better, but I still need to catch some breaks. I got COVID, which is weird, since COVID was supposed to be done for ever since it's 2025 and we went through all that isolation. I've been feeling like shit due to being sick, so I couldn't work as much as I wanted on Offcuts. I'm also worried because a bird coughed on me and I hope I don't catch the bird flu. Now while I said that I didn't work as much as I wanted on the final proofread and bug check on Offcuts, there has been some progress. The release date is now sooner than it ever was, but personally, I might delay it until the start of my next break at work in case there needs to be some emergency bug fixing.
I'm not sure if I'll quit after the Alice Route or if I'll start the new project. It depends on my eye and now my body. But I won't be taking Patreon money from you.
TLDR: Same old bullshit as always.

Covid is yesterdays excuse. This years excuse will be that he caught cooties and has to be in an iron lung for a year.
I'm just waiting until he starts using the family death excuse. Thats how it usually goes with developers that start milking or abandon their game: Delays-Medical-Deaths...

First month of 2025 is almost over, which of course means another monthly update! This time, many personal things are looking much better than last year. Some of the usual questions have been discussed in previous updates, so if you want more details you can check those. But let's quickly revisit a few important issues, just in case.
First, the good old eyesight medical drama. After the operation, my eyesight has been slowly getting better, although it will probably never be quite as good as it used to be. Still, it's pretty good again as long as I keep my screen time in reasonable limits and use some eyedrops, especially during this cold and dry period.
The second is Offcuts 0.4 release. As mentioned before, it's practically ready, I'm just trying to get a good timing down so that I can continue immediately afterwards, without a huge pause again. Previously, I was also pondering to put an end to this hobby afterwards if my health or motivation ran out, but for now, I'm planning to continue for some more. Currently I'm finishing a full 3D prototype, which should be in a playable/readable demo shape in a month or two. I have mentioned this in previous updates, but it was always a bit uncertain, especially after my eyesight issues. But now that things have ended more or less happily, I'm planning to finish the prototype quickly and already made some good progress during my winter vacation. This way, I can just release Offcuts 0.4 and immediately continue with whatever comes next (be it 2D or 3D), so expect a poll or two about this eventually, after some demos. More technical details will be in later posts once it becomes relevant. Also, with an extra day every week to spend with this and my other hobbies, I can hopefully get things moving again soon.
As always, I'm not going to take any Patreon payments until Offcuts 0.4 is out (I'll temporarily suspend my Patreon at the end of each month until then). Thanks for your endless patience!

Does anyone even give a fuck about his 3D Demo? Right now the only reasons I have any fucks to give regarding Offcuts is MC stuffing Alice's taco with sausage and man gravy.
